Several parts of the Greater Accra Region have been severely affected by flooding following hours of heavy rainfall that began on Sunday night and continued into Monday morning, leaving major roads submerged, homes flooded and commuters stranded.

These Communities in Greater Accra were the worst affected areas by heavy rains — starting from Mallam, Mallam Junction, Kaneshie, Achimota, Weija, Kasoa, Klagon, Tse Addo, Dzowulu, North Industrial Area, Santa Maria and other areas.

Key transport routes including the Accra–Kasoa highway, Winneba road, and sections around Achimota Overhead were rendered impassable, forcing motorists to abandon vehicles and seek alternative routes.

Residents in low-lying communities reported water entering homes, destroying property and forcing some families to relocate temporarily to safer locations. Commercial activities were also affected as shops and markets struggled to operate under the flooding conditions.
