The long-running uncertainty surrounding who would succeed the late Apostle Kwadwo Safo as leader of the Kristo Asafo Mission appears to be finally over as fresh details from his final will emerged following proceedings at the Accra High Court on Monday, July 6, 2026.

For months after the renowned inventor, industrialist and founder of the Kristo Asafo Mission passed away, his family became embroiled in a highly publicized succession dispute, with disagreements over who the late church leader had intended to take over the spiritual leadership of the ministry.

The family wrangle generated nationwide attention as different camps laid claim to the church’s leadership, leading to legal battles and a series of public statements from some of Apostle Safo’s children. The dispute even escalated into violence in June when former Dome-Kwabenya MP Sarah Adwoa Safo was reportedly shot while attempting to serve a court injunction connected to a planned installation ceremony.

However, after the latest court appearance in Accra on July 6, fashion entrepreneur Osebo the Zaraman disclosed what he said were the contents of Apostle Kwadwo Safo’s final will regarding the church’s succession.

Speaking to journalists after the hearing, Osebo stated that the late founder had clearly named his son, Kwadwo Safo Jnr, also known as Kwadwo Safo Akofena, as the person to lead the church, insisting that the revelation should finally put the long-standing dispute to rest.

“When the will was read, he was the one who was chosen to lead the church. As Papa has spoken, as I said, my yes is yes, and my no is no. No one can destroy my mind. If Papa has spoken for all of us to hear, who am I not to agree with that?” Osebo said.

He added that if Apostle Safo had indeed decided to hand over all his properties and responsibilities to Kwadwo Safo Akofena, he had no reason to oppose the decision.

“If our father has willed all his properties to Akofena, I have no objections. We will all support him fully,” he stated.

Osebo explained that although he is not a member of the Safo family, he considers himself a committed member of the Kristo Asafo Mission and believes every member should rally behind the wishes of the late founder rather than deepen the divisions that have rocked the church since his passing.

“I’m just a member of the church. We will all support Kwadwo and do whatever is expected of us,” he added.

The businessman also pointed out that his current stance is not a new one, recalling that even before the contents of the will became public, he had consistently maintained that he would support whoever Apostle Kwadwo Safo officially named as his successor.

Osebo further stressed that the most important issue now is preserving unity within the church and respecting the final wishes of its founder.
