Ghanaian Kumawood actor Kwadwo Nkansah, popularly known as LilWin, has stirred reactions on social media after sharing a video of himself inspecting his mattress following recent conversations surrounding the quality of some mattresses being produced in Ghana.

His reaction comes in the wake of widespread social media discussions alleging that some Chinese-owned companies in Ghana have been using inappropriate materials in the production of mattresses.

The conversations gained momentum after reports emerged about an operation by the Ghana Standards Authority which reportedly led to the arrest of some Chinese nationals over allegations involving the production of mattresses and related products that allegedly failed to meet approved standards.

According to reports, the operation was carried out at the Jin Yuan Jia mattress manufacturing facility in Afienya, with claims that the company had allegedly been operating contrary to an earlier court directive issued in October 2025.

Reacting to the development, Lilwin disclosed in a video that he had recently been experiencing body pains anytime he woke up in the morning and began suspecting that his mattress could be linked to the ongoing concerns.

The actor explained that the mattress had always felt unusually hard compared to regular foam mattresses, prompting him to investigate further.

In the video, Lilwin was seen cutting open the mattress cover to inspect the material used inside.

To his surprise, the actor saw the contents looked more like rubber or plastic materials rather than conventional foam.

Expressing concern, Lilwin called on the government and relevant authorities to strengthen checks on products entering the market.
