Meet Adam Cortez, Hajia4Real’s lawyer assisting her to battle a $2m romance case in the U.S

Hajia4Real, also known as Mona Faiz Montrage, is currently fighting for her freedom in the United States of America after being extradited from the U.K. on charges related to a $2 million romance scam.

The Ghanaian socialite was arrested in the United Kingdom on November 10, 2022, and was extradited to the United States on May 12, 2023.

Federal prosecutors claim that Hajia4Real targeted elderly and single Americans living alone in her alleged romance scam.

On May 15, 2023, she appeared in federal court in Manhattan to face charges related to her involvement in several romance scams.

Her lawyer, Adam Cortez, revealed that there are six alleged victims involved in the case.

He further stated that only two victims had dealings with a woman, and only one of them claims to have interacted with Ms. Montrage.

Adam Cortez, the attorney representing Hajia4Real, is the owner of The Cortez Law Firm.

He graduated with a B.B.A. in Accounting (Magna Cum Laude) from Incarnate Word College (now University of Incarnate Word) in 1988 and obtained his law degree from The University of Texas School of Law in 1991.

He was admitted to practice law in Texas in 1991 and in New York in 2006.

Known for his expertise in handling Criminal, Commercial Litigation, Personal Injury Litigation, and Civil Rights cases, Adam Cortez is also recognized as a passionate boxing enthusiast.

In the past, he served as a TV host for a boxing show. In 2017, CBS featured him, showcasing his unique story of blending his love for boxing with his career as a lawyer.
