Alex Kofi Adu, popularly known as Agya Koo, one of the legends of the Ghanaian movie industry, after his long sabbatical from the screens is set to return as a lead character in a sensational movie titled “Away Bus”, which is a joint production of Kofi Asamoah’s Kofas Media and Peter Sedufia’s Old Film productions.

Speaking at an emergency press conference which was organized to announce his inclusion as a cast of the movie, Agya Koo debunked the claims that have consistently made their way into the media space that he is arrogant and pompous after his hiatus from the TV screens.

The award-winning actor stated that he is usually surprised when he hears such untruths about him but he is not bothered because the people who are close to him in the industry will attest that they are mere rumors and lies.

He also used the platform to react to the allegations that his charges were too much, for which reason producers stopped using him because they couldn’t afford him.

Agya revealed that at the time he was the toast of the town, he never charged any director or producer even GH 6,000 cedis. He stressed that if any of these producers and directors have any proof that suggests he is a liar, they should come out and shame him. He added that all the things he did for the industry at the time were all for the betterment of the industry and not for his personal gains.
