In an age where likes, streams, and comments dominate the rhythm of modern music careers, Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie is offering a rare moment of clarity: step back, breathe and create for the love of the art.

Taking to social media with what he called a “quick one,” Sarkodie delivered a message aimed squarely at the hearts of emerging musicians. Acknowledging the pressure of today’s instant-feedback culture, he warned that using it as a compass for career progress is misleading at best and creatively dangerous at worst.

He urged young talents to resist the urge to measure their worth in algorithms and viral spikes. “Keep your head under the water and keep going,” he advised, capturing the quiet resilience required in an era of digital noise.

At the core of his message was a timeless truth: joy must lead the journey. Sarkodie emphasized that not every song will dominate the airwaves—and that’s okay. What matters most is staying true to the craft, nurturing a loyal audience, and honoring the process with consistency.

“Make good art for your core audience and stay consistent,” he wrote, echoing the wisdom of an artist who has weathered trends and still stands at the top of his game.

In an industry often obsessed with the moment, Sarkodie is reminding young creatives that longevity is an act of quiet rebellion—and that fulfillment begins when you mute the noise and play your own beat.

Dada KD Decries Dire Royalties System For Ghanaian Musicians

Ghanaian highlife musician Dada Kwakye Duah, widely known as Dada KD, has voiced deep frustration over what he considers the dismal state of royalties for artists in Ghana.

Speaking in an interview with Nana Romeo on Accra FM, Dada KD painted a bleak picture of the Ghanaian music industry, lamenting that Ghanaian musicians are among the least financially rewarded globally.

He questioned whether their hardship was fated, adding that if destiny is to blame, then divine intervention is overdue.

For him, the cause of the problem lies in a longstanding cultural disregard for music as a legitimate career.

He recalled an era when even close relatives dismissed music as frivolous, a mere pastime unworthy of serious pursuit. It wasn’t until global icons like Michael Jackson shifted perceptions that people began to see music as a path to prosperity.

Although attitudes have softened over time, Dada KD insists that Ghana’s industry remains fundamentally broken when it comes to compensating artists for their creative labor.

He argued that music, like any skilled profession, should offer a path to financial stability, enabling practitioners to accumulate assets such as homes and cars with time and dedication.

Many men are proposing to me – Joyce Blessing

Award-winning gospel singer Joyce Blessing has expressed her openness to finding love again and remarrying, nearly five years after her highly publicised and acrimonious divorce from her former husband and manager, Dave Joy.

In a recent interview with Andy Dosty, the musician, known in private life as Joyce Akosua Twene, stated her desire to walk down the aisle once more, citing her still youthful age as a key factor in her decision.

Joyce Blessing’s previous marriage to Dave Joy ended in a bitter public spat that dominated entertainment headlines.

Their separation was marred by allegations of infidelity from both sides, and DNA test controversies further fueled the intense media scrutiny surrounding their broken relationship.

The divorce resulted in significant personal and professional setbacks for the “Victory” hitmaker, who shares three children with Joy. She notably lost control of her official Instagram and YouTube accounts to her ex-husband.

Despite these challenges, Joyce Blessing remains optimistic about the prospect of love and marriage in the future. However, she emphasized her intention to approach any new relationship with caution and wisdom, determined to avoid repeating past mistakes.

“I’ve learned a lot from my past experiences, and I’m in no rush. Marriage is beautiful, and I want to ensure my next step is guided by wisdom and God’s direction,” she shared with host Andy Dosty on Hitz FM.

When questioned about her current dating life, the gospel singer indicated that she was not yet ready to publicly discuss that aspect of her personal life, deeming it private.

Nevertheless, she acknowledged that, like any attractive single woman, she receives considerable romantic interest from men.

“I’m not ready to talk about that one [my dating life] for now, but I get a lot of proposals from men. If you are a woman and you do not get men approaching you to propose to you, then there may be a problem,”

Joyce Blessing stated, suggesting that she is indeed a desirable partner but is taking her time to find the right person.

‘One Corner’ Achieved Greater Global Impact Than Black Sherif’s Songs – Patapaa

Controversial Ghanaian musician, Patapaa Amisty, has ignited a debate by asserting that his viral sensation ‘One Corner’ garnered more global recognition than any song released by the acclaimed artist Black Sherif.

Speaking on the Savage Room podcast, the hitmaker behind ‘Sco Pa Tu Manaa’ suggested that Black Sherif’s fame is predominantly concentrated in Nigeria, attributing this to his affiliation with Empire Records.

“Black Sherif is signed to Empire, so his music is mostly known in Nigeria, not worldwide,” Patapaa stated definitively. “I am a global artiste. Which of his songs has gone international? Even my collaboration with Kawoula is bigger than any of his.”

Patapaa went on to imply a shift in Black Sherif’s identity due to his record label. “Since he joined a Nigerian label, he’s practically a Nigerian artiste now. Have you noticed Ghanaians are no longer vibing to his music since the initial hype died down?” he questioned.

Drawing a contrast, Patapaa highlighted the widespread success of his breakout hit ‘One Corner’, citing it as the driving force behind Nigerian TikTok personality Peller’s visit to Ghana. According to Patapaa, the song’s organic popularity fueled the trend internationally without any financial incentives.

“I didn’t give Peller even a cedi to promote my song. He made a video because ‘One Corner’ was already viral. It was trending in Europe,” Patapaa claimed.

He also credited Ghanaian dancehall heavyweight Shatta Wale for facilitating Peller’s visit to Ghana in the wake of ‘One Corner’s international traction.

“Shatta Wale was the one who invited Peller. I wasn’t even in the country when he arrived. Nigerians rarely support Ghanaian songs, apart from VIP and ‘One Corner’,” Patapaa stated
