Ghanaian musician Amerado has shared his ambition to become an Artiste of the Year nominee after a stellar run in the 2024 music year.

In a post after his press soiree to thank the media for their support in 2024, the rapper and singer opened up about his bid.

The Telecel Ghana Music Awards defines its Artiste of the Year category’s winner as the artiste with the highest audience appeal and popularity in the year under review.

Last year, the award went to Stonebwoy, who had six additional awards on the night before receiving the highest honour.

An international tour backed by his high-striding and star-studded 5th Dimension album, among several other factors, gave Stonebwoy an edge over his closest opponent, King Promise.

According to Amerado, he was billed for 70 shows in Ghana and ten abroad. In 2024, the artiste claims to have released five songs and contributed to the success of four other collaborations. On social media, Amerado established his bid by saying;

“Artiste of the Year conversation without Amerado under the 2024 year of review is an exposure of ignorance and consequently brutal to the industry and upcoming ones.

“Now that His Excellency has fulfilled the comeback mission, there is one more hurdle to overcome; call it a prophecy. His Excellency will soon be ordained as a pastor,” Badu wrote.

Shatta Wale Denies Rumors of Blakk Cedi Taking Over as Manager

Ghanaian dancehall superstar, Shatta Wale, has dismissed rumors suggesting that Blakk Cedi, the former manager of fellow artist Stonebwoy, has taken over as his new manager.

The speculation began after Blakk Cedi expressed gratitude for being part of Shatta Wale’s team during the latter’s electrifying performance at Vybz Kartel’s Freedom Street Concert in Jamaica.

In a heartfelt message shared on social media, Blakk Cedi wrote:
“I wanted to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude for the opportunity to serve as part of your team during the Freedom Street Concert in Jamaica.

It was an honor to step in and contribute to your vision, and I do not take that privilege lightly. Your unwavering respect, trust, and love throughout this process truly humbled me.”

The post, which showed Cedi’s admiration for Shatta Wale, fueled rumors that he had assumed a more permanent managerial role.

However, upon returning to Ghana on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, Shatta Wale addressed the rumors in an interview with JoyNews’ Becky at the Kotoka International Airport.

Shatta Wale clarified that Blakk Cedi’s involvement was strictly limited to supporting his team during the concert and reiterated that his long-time manager, Sammy Flex, remains in charge of his career.

“Blakk Cedi’s contribution is just like JoyNews coming here to interview me—strictly supportive.

I don’t have any problem with anybody, and I appreciate anyone who wants to support me,” Shatta Wale explained.
“Blakk Cedi formerly managed Stonebwoy, but that’s in the past. He’s done well, and I give him a big shout-out. But nobody should tag Blakk Cedi as managing Shatta Wale. Sammy Flex is still my manager,” he added.
