Celebrated Ghanaian actress Nadia Buari has opened up about the kissing scenes in many movie projects.

In an interview with Godwin Namboh and Anita Akua Akuffo on TV3’s The Afternoon Show, Nadia Buari said kissing scenes are make-believe, not real.

The actress, who recently shared the trailer of an upcoming movie with Majid Michel, explained that the actors’ objective in staging the scenes is to make them look real and convince the audience.

She said kissing scenes are only real for the movie characters, not the actors involved, as no feelings are attached.

She said: “They are not real. It is make-believe. However, we are trying to convince people, so we were really kissing, but it is just that it is real for the characters, not for the actors. There are no feelings involved.”

Nadia Buari said that actors cannot get their feelings involved in the scenes as they are sometimes shot on multiple occasions in front of numerous people on set.

Nadia noted that despite being involved in many kissing scenes throughout her illustrious career, she does not have a favourite kisser in movies.

Nadia Buari admitted that the kissing scenes and playing characters are the most challenging aspects of movie acting.

Veteran Kumawood actor Akwasi Boadi, popularly known as Akrobeto, has spoken about his physical looks and trademark big nose.

In an interview with media personality Jerry Justice on his Ofie Kwanso show, Akrobeto stated that he had maintained his good looks despite nearing 62 years old.

The Real News host explained that he has a peaceful state of mind and does not pressure himself to indulge in activities he is not interested in.

He said: “I will turn 62 years old on November 18. I am very handsome because I think too much or have any pressure. I only do what I can.”

Addressing individuals who mock him for having a big nose, actor Akrobeto jokingly said that he has started cursing them to stop them from doing it.

He said that he sometimes encounters people who compliment him on his good looks while others attempt to touch his nose. Reacting to the comparison of his big nose to that of media personality Kobby Stonne, Akrobeto said that his own was smaller.

The Kumawood actor recounted a hilarious incident involving himself, Kobby Stonne, and the production team on a movie set in Ghana.

Akrobeto jokingly shared that he has never battled the flu because his nose has ample space, which allows him to breathe freely.

He said: “I will be very honest. I have never gotten catarrh since I was born because there is space in my nose. I am free-to-air.” B

‘I’ve never been asked for sex in exchange for a movie role,’ – Benedicta Gafah states

In an interview with Hitz FM on 24 October 2024, the actress stated that no producer has ever approached her with such a “sex-for-role” request.

She clarified that her absence from the screen is due to a personal decision to take a break and focus on furthering her education.

“I haven’t been approached by any director to offer sex for a role before. Maybe because my uncle introduced me to Mr Akwasi Nyamekye directly. It got to a point where I left the industry to further my education. I was also producing my movies but, up to now, I haven’t encountered such advances,” she said.

Benedicta also shed light on the challenges actors face in the industry, stressing that while the public often sees the glamorous side of acting, they do not always realise the hardships behind the scenes.

“The movie industry is very challenging because people only get to see the glamour and not what we go through when acting. Sometimes we go to locations and there is no internet. And after a long day working, you can’t even go online to relieve stress,” she added.
