Infidelity and polygamy is unnecessary pressure – Akwaboah advises his fellow men

0

Ghanaian Highlife star Akwaboah Jnr has expressed confusion over why men would choose to marry multiple women, given the challenges that come with managing a single relationship.

Speaking on Ayekoo Ayekoo with Nana Romeo on Accra 100.5 FM on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, the singer cum songwriter addressed those who justify polygamy by referencing biblical figures such as King Solomon.

The one God who gave divine wisdom above all others ended up in the temples of idols. The lust for women led him into idolatry, even though he was initially on God’s side,” Akwaboah noted, referencing Solomon’s eventual fall into idolatry despite his famed wisdom.

The award-winning musician continued by cautioning young men who use biblical patriarchs to validate their polygamous inclinations. He urged them to consider the consequences faced by these figures later in life.

“When we read about David and others, let’s not stay on the initial glories, but let’s pay attention to the end also,” he advised, suggesting that men should reflect on the entire story, not just the successes.

He went on to criticize the pressures men bring upon themselves by engaging in polygamous or promiscuous lifestyles. He expressed disbelief at men who remain unfaithful, even when their wives are “attractive, submissive, resourceful, and sexually adventurous.”

As a newlywed, Akwaboah shared his personal thoughts on fidelity, acknowledging his human imperfections. “For now – I’m not an angel just like everyone else – so I cannot personally say I will be faithful or otherwise,” he admitted.

However, he emphasized his commitment to avoiding infidelity, which he believes leads to ruin in relationships.

The instrumentalist also touched on the issue of unfaithfulness among women, stating: “Some women are heavily unfaithful, but it’s secretly done.”

In a series of X posts on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, the popular comedian complained that his investment had been stolen in Ghana.

He said the situation would compel him to rely on GoFundMe donations to keep the school free for kids in the country.

Following his complaints, Blackson disclosed in a new tweet on Thursday that his assistant in Ghana has been threatened.

He wrote on X: “My assistant in Ghana called me yesterday and said he was getting threats because of my tweets. Smh.”

Meanwhile, he mentioned the research he conducted before his investment in the country.

“I did my research on Ghana and bonds, in their history of existence there has never been an issue. So, I said to myself this interest can keep my school going. $10k a month will be good to pay teachers, cooks, cleaners, security, lunch, electricity, water, books, etc.

“I figured $1m would get me $10k, I got one payment and it stopped. It’s been 2 years, mind you they had my $1m and I had to find $10k each month. Now you know why I’m pissed,” said Michael Blackson.

According to Mr. Mettle, it has been a difficult experience, given the friendship they both shared until KODA’s demise.

Speaking on Joy Prime’s Changes show, the singer told Roselyn Felli, who asked about how he felt upon receiving the news of his colleague’s death, that “it was a difficult moment and still is.”

Mr. Mettle has faith that the departure of the ‘Hossana’ hitmaker is the will of God, believing that KODA is resting peacefully in God’s bosom.

Meanwhile, the final funeral rites for the late singer are scheduled for Friday, September 20, at KICC Dominion Center, off Spintex Road.

Efia Odo finally reveals why she quit her job at Eats Avenue

Ghanaian socialite and actress, Efia Odo has addressed the rumours about her departure from a restaurant where she previously worked and co-owns

The actress was criticised on social media for her ownership of the Eats Avenue restaurant, and several allegations were made about how she acquired the partnership.

Among the claims was an allegation that she’s romantically involved with her restaurant co-partner, who owns the majority of the shares.

Speaking on the recent podcast Rants, Bants, and Confession, Efia Odo firmly denied the accusations. She stated that she has a “platonic” relationship with the co-owner who supports her in whatever she does, describing him as an “uncle.”

“They started creating stories that the man and I are dating that we are in a relationship. That’s the mess up thing about it.

He is someone that I respect so much, he’s put me on a pedestal, he’s opened my eyes to the business aspect. He made me feel like a woman of substance and puts energy into everyone he’s around so I didn’t like the idea that we were dating…so false,” she said.

No gospel musician checked on me after my accident – Sonnie Badu laments

0

US-based Ghanaian pastor and gospel musician, Sonnie Badu has spoken out about the neglect he faced from his fellow gospel singers after he encountered a domestic accident in December 2023.

The singer underwent a surgery after he stumbled on the steps between the garden and the metal railings in his home while cleaning and watering.

Despite his condition, Sonnie Badu, who hadn’t fully recovered, was later seen performing at his Rhythms of Africa concert in Accra on December 9

This caused people to claim on social media that his injury was not severe and only staged to gain attention for his Rhythms of Africa concert.

Reflecting on his experience, the Rockhill Chapel founder lamented the treatment he received from fellow gospel singers during his ordeal.

He said none of the gospel musicians checked on him to find out how he was faring.

“Not even a single one checked up on me. When I realised that not even a single gospel artist colleague or pastor would check up on me, that’s when I said even if I died, nobody cares; I have to rise up quickly,” he stated in a recent interview with Joy Prime.

According to him, he would have made an effort to check on others if the situation had been different.
