0

The Ghana Football Association has ended Otto Addo’s time in charge of the Black Stars, cutting short his second stint as head coach.

News of the decision was released on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, through an official statement from the FA’s communications team, confirming that he has been relieved of his duties with immediate effect.

The statement recognised his efforts before formally announcing the separation.

“The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has parted ways with the head coach of the senior men’s national team (Black Stars), Otto Addo, effective immediately.

“The Association wishes to thank Otto Addo sincerely for his contribution to the team and wishes him the best of luck in his future endeavours,” parts of the statement read.

“The Ghana Football Association will communicate the new technical direction of the Black Stars in due course,” the statement ended.

The decision follows a run of poor results that intensified pressure on the technical bench. Ghana’s most recent outing ended in a 2-1 defeat to Germany on Monday, March 30, 2026, coming just days after a 5-1 loss to Austria on March 27.

Addo had returned to the role on March 15, 2024, when the FA handed him the job after his earlier spell as interim coach. He first took charge ahead of Ghana’s 2022 FIFA World Cup final play-off ties against Nigeria.

He led the team to qualification for the tournament but stepped aside after a difficult campaign. His reappointment two years later has now come to an end after a brief and challenging second run in charge.

NAM1 Reportedly Falls Ill As Court Grants Virtual Hearing In Menzgold Trial

0

Ghanaian businessman Nana Appiah Mensah, widely known as NAM1, has reportedly fallen ill amid his ongoing prosecution linked to the collapse of gold dealership firm Menzgold Ghana Limited, reigniting public debate over the high-profile case.

At a sitting of the Accra High Court on March 30, 2026, the presiding judge approved a request by NAM1’s legal team for proceedings to be conducted virtually due to his deteriorating health condition.

According to reports by Myjoyonline, the decision followed the submission of a medical report indicating that the businessman is in a fragile state and unable to engage in strenuous physical activity.

The ruling has since sparked mixed reactions on social media, with some Ghanaians expressing sympathy for his condition, while others questioned the fairness of granting such accommodations in a case of national interest.

NAM1’s legal troubles date back to the controversial collapse of Menzgold, once a prominent gold trading firm that attracted thousands of investors across Ghana.

The company was shut down following regulatory challenges with the Securities and Exchange Commission Ghana, which maintained that Menzgold was operating without the appropriate license to engage in gold trading and investment activities.

The shutdown left many customers unable to access their funds, leading to widespread protests and calls for government intervention.

In 2019, NAM1 was arrested in Dubai over alleged financial infractions, including accusations of fraud. He was later extradited to Ghana to face charges related to defrauding by false pretence and other financial crimes tied to the operations of Menzgold.

Since his return, the businessman has been engaged in a protracted legal battle, with multiple court appearances and ongoing investigations aimed at recovering funds for aggrieved customers.

The latest development regarding his health has added a new dimension to the already complex case.

I Was Just Demanding My Money – Great Ampong Speaks On Daddy Lumba Fallout

0

Great Ampong has dismissed claims that he ever spoke ill of Daddy Lumba, insisting his long-running comments were only about money he was owed.

Speaking on UTV’s ‘Atuu’ with Nana Romeo, he rejected claims that he ever disrespected the late singer. He explained that his past comments were deliberate and limited, centred only on an unsettled financial issue between them.

Ampong said he cannot point to any instance where his words crossed the line. He believes that if he had spoken unfairly about Daddy Lumba, he would be dealing with regret now, particularly after the musician’s death.

Pressed on whether the alleged debt had been settled, he declined to reopen the discussion, noting that he drew a line under the matter publicly in 2023 and has no intention of revisiting it.

“I never bad-mouthed Daddy Lumba; I was just demanding my money. If I had said anything unwarranted about him, I’m sure I would regret it now, but that never happened,” Great Ampong stated.

The roots of their association go back to 2015 when they teamed up for the gospel-highlife album Hosanna. In an earlier conversation with Deloris Frimpong Manso in 2016, Ampong recalled that the collaboration began after Daddy Lumba reached out to him directly, expressing interest in working together.

“He called me on the phone and said he was a fan of my work and would like us to collaborate on a project. He invited me to his house, and we had a discussion,” he disclosed.

The album contained eight songs, with Ampong insisting he wrote six. Although the project drew attention at the time, he said the relationship began to deteriorate soon after its release.

He claims the proceeds from the launch were not shared with him, despite his investment in the project. He further alleged that the full catalogue of songs was later uploaded onto Daddy Lumba’s personal accounts on digital streaming platforms.

Ampong has revisited the issue in several interviews over the years, maintaining that the outcome of the collaboration left him disappointed and feeling shortchanged.

VIDEO: “Tufiakwa” – Nana Agradaa reveals what she said to herself after she was sentenced to 15 years imprisonment

Founder and leader of Heaven’s Way Tabernacle Church, Patricia Asiedua Asiamah, has shared her prison experience with the general public during a Thanksgiving ceremony at her church last Sunday.

Speaking to her, the controversial televangelist disclosed that she felt the world had ended for her after she was sentenced to 15 years imprisonment.

According to her, she murmured ‘Tufiakwa’ just after the judge passed the judgment.

While sharing her prison experience, he also argued that prison does not necessarily reform individuals, but rather can make them more daring.

According to Nana Agradaa, true change can only come from within and not as a result of being incarcerated.

“Prison doesn’t change a person. It only increases one’s boldness. A person can only change from their bad ways on their own terms,” she told the worshippers.

Nana Agradaa also reflected on her own legal troubles, recalling that she initially believed her 15-year sentence marked the end of her journey.

However, she expressed gratitude to God for what she described as a miraculous turn of events, which led to her early release.

“I thought it was the end of the road for me, but God being so good, I have been released earlier than expected,” she said.

Her comments have since sparked mixed reactions among the public, with some agreeing that personal transformation must be self-driven, while others argue that correctional facilities are meant to rehabilitate offenders.

VIDEO: “I envy Abu Trica’s impensing extradition to the US” – NPP’s KOKA reveals

Staunch NPP supporter Kwaku Osei Korankye Aseidu aka KOKA has revealed that he envies Abu Trica over his impending extradition to the US.

In an interview with Ghanaian Times, KOKA expressed that Abu Trica is paying for his support for the NDC prior the 2024 general elections.

According to KOKA, he’ll be more than happy if Abu Trica is given a green card.

In his words;

“Will you get the chance to travel to America without paying for a visa or plane ticket? I even envy Abu Trica; I wish I were him.”

Last Thursday, an emotional scene ensued as the Gbese High Court adjourned embattled socialite Abu Trica’s extradition case verdict

According to an unsealed US Justice Department indictment, he is facing charges of conspiracy to commit wire fraud, money laundering conspiracy, and a forfeiture specification.

Abu Trica is facing up to 20 years in prison if he is convicted in the US for his alleged crimes.

Prison Only Increases Boldness – Nana Agradaa Denies Reform Claims

Nana Agradaa is questioning the very purpose of prison after her recent release, insisting the system does little to reform those who pass through it.

Speaking to her congregation at Heaven Way Champion International Ministry on March 29, 2026, the evangelist, known in private life as Patricia Asiamah, reflected on her time in custody and dismissed the notion that incarceration brings personal change.

She recalled the moment her legal troubles seemed to reach a breaking point, when she was handed a 15-year sentence. In her telling, the ruling felt final, leaving her shaken as she exited the courtroom and faced a barrage of questions from bloggers, with only a plea for prayers on her lips.

“Prison doesn’t change a person, it only increases your boldness. I said ‘tawfiakwa’ when the judge sentenced me to 15 years in prison. When bloggers asked me, ‘Mama Pat, what do you have to say about your sentencing?’ I only told them to pray for me,” Nana Agradaa stated.

Agradaa walked free on March 3, 2026, after serving nine months behind bars, benefiting from Ghana’s remission guidelines, which allow for reduced time based on good behaviour.

Her conviction stems from a July 3, 2025, ruling by an Accra Circuit Court, which found her guilty on multiple counts tied to a money-doubling scheme she promoted during church services at her ministry in Weija. According to prosecutors, she took money from congregants with assurances of multiplying it, promises that failed and triggered complaints.

She was initially sentenced to 15 years’ imprisonment for defrauding by false pretence and engaging in charlatanic advertisement, but that punishment did not stand.

On February 5, 2026, the Amasaman High Court affirmed the conviction but ruled that the sentence was excessive, reducing it to 12 months and imposing a fine of 200 penalty units, equivalent to about GH¢2,400.

Papi calls Stonebwoy a liar over his claims of indirectly helping the NDC to win the last general elections

0

A new debate has emerged within Ghana’s music industry after Stonebwoy claimed that his hit song Jejereje contributed to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) victory in the 2024 general elections.

The award-winning musician made the remarks during a recent fundraiser in support of the Black Stars, an event attended by top dignitaries, including President John Dramani Mahama.

Addressing the audience, Stonebwoy suggested that the timing and message of Jejereje played a role in easing political tensions during a critical period, ultimately contributing to the NDC’s electoral success.

“When we talk about contributions, I believe that my contribution has been very significant in winning power for the NDC,” he stated.

He further explained that his decision to release the song at the time was influenced by his belief in the party’s “reset” agenda, adding that the country was in a tense state and his music helped create a sense of calm.

However, his claims have been strongly disputed by Papi, a member of the music duo 5Five.

Speaking in an interview on Okay FM’s Drive Time with Nana Romeo, Papi dismissed Stonebwoy’s assertion as untrue and exaggerated.

“Stonebwoy is telling lies. His song didn’t contribute to the NDC’s victory,” Papi said bluntly.

He questioned the consistency of Stonebwoy’s stance, pointing out that the musician had initially distanced himself from political affiliations when the song was first released.

Papi further criticised what he described as a sudden shift in narrative, arguing that Stonebwoy had previously maintained that his music was not politically motivated.

“When the song was first released, he made it clear it wasn’t political, so why the sudden change now?” he quizzed.

He urged the dancehall star to take a clear stance rather than appear to be “playing smart” with political associations.

The exchange has sparked conversations among fans and industry observers, with many debating the influence of music on political outcomes and whether artistes should openly align themselves with political parties.

The controversy also highlights ongoing tensions around the intersection of entertainment and politics in Ghana, as public figures navigate their influence and public perception.

As discussions continue, both artistes remain at the centre of a growing debate over the true impact of music in shaping national discourse and electoral outcomes.

Vicky Zugah Reveals Why Her No-Sex Rule Ends Many New Relationships

0

Choosing to step away from sex has quietly redrawn the lines in Vicky Zugah’s dating life, and the results have been telling.

In a recent TikTok video, the actress shared that her decision to practise celibacy has come with an unexpected outcome. Men who once showed keen interest tend to pull back once they realise she is firm about keeping intimacy off the table.

She traced the decision back to December 2025, when she began reflecting on her past relationships and noticed a pattern in the kind of men she kept attracting. That realisation pushed her to deliberately remove sex from the equation in order to break the cycle. Since then, she has continued to go on dates and engage with potential partners, but with a clear boundary in place.

Over the past few months, she said she has interacted with about 10 men. Some of those connections led to physical meetups, while others remained online, especially with individuals based outside Ghana.

According to her, a common thread runs through nearly all these encounters. Many of the men initially brushed off her stance, assuming it was something she might eventually reconsider. However, once it became clear that she was serious, they gradually faded away without offering any explanation.

She said this phase has given her sharper insight into people’s intentions, making it easier to tell who is genuinely interested and who is not. In her view, celibacy creates space to observe beyond physical attraction and helps filter out those who are not looking for anything meaningful.

Vicky Zugah added that taking sex out of relationships forces a slower, more intentional approach to dating, allowing people to see clearly and identify those with genuine motives. She also pointed out that in a time where casual intimacy is easily accessible, choosing celibacy can quickly reveal who is truly willing to stay for the right reasons.

Court Rejects Defence Claims, Paves Way For Abu Trica Extradition

0

The extradition case involving Frederick Kumi, popularly known as Abu Trica, has taken a decisive turn after the Gbese District Court dismissed major objections raised by the defence, ruling that allegations of political persecution and entrapment were not supported by evidence.

In its judgment, the court found that the defence had failed to substantiate claims that the prosecution was politically motivated or that the accused was lured into committing the alleged offences. Those arguments, which formed the backbone of the resistance to extradition, were therefore rejected in their entirety.

With the objections set aside, the court stated that there was nothing left to legally halt the extradition process, though it acknowledged that the defence still retains the right to pursue further procedural options.

Reacting to the ruling, his lawyer reportedly stated that “the judge said we had not proven any political connection to the offence and that Abu needs to be extradited.”

Even so, the court has granted Abu Trica a 15-day window within which he can contest the decision. During this period, his legal team may file an appeal or seek a review of the ruling.

Should the defence fail to secure a reversal within the allotted time, the extradition process is expected to advance to its next stage.

The matter has drawn considerable public attention, fuelled by allegations that it is tied to cross-border fraud operations. Prosecutors in the requesting jurisdiction are seeking extradition to pursue charges linked to alleged online scams targeting victims abroad.

Abu Trica maintains his innocence, and his legal team is expected to carefully examine the ruling before deciding their next move within the deadline.

Ultimately, the outcome of any appeal will determine whether he is extradited to stand trial in the requesting country.

Fella Makafui Says She Nearly Turned Down YOLO Role That Made Her Famous

Fella Makafui says she nearly turned down the role that introduced her to a wider audience and helped shape her career.

Revisiting that turning point, the actress shared throwback images from her early days on set, alongside a candid reflection on how she landed the role of Serwaa in YOLO, a character that would go on to shape her career trajectory.

“11 years ago, I almost rejected a role that would later become part of my identity, Serwaa,” she wrote.

She explained that, at the time, the significance of the role was not obvious. What initially felt like just another decision would eventually influence both her personal growth and professional direction.

Her reflection follows the path from uncertainty to progress, capturing moments of doubt, persistence, and gradual transformation. Through it all, she remained committed to her ambitions, even when clarity was out of reach.
