As a man, marry your work and love yourself first – Kwaku Manu advises as his ex-wife remarries

Ghanaian actor Kwaku Manu has offered some controversial advice to the public following news of his ex-wife’s recent remarriage.

In a video posted on TikTok, the father of four urged others to seek self-love before loving anyone else, including a spouse or children.

Kwaku Manu stated that one could only offer genuine love to others by first loving themselves. He also suggested it was wise to love one’s job before loving one’s family, as earning money demonstrates care.

Kwaku Manu’s comments came after his former wife, Diane Naa Okailey Nyarko, married a white man named Tim in America.

Photos of the wedding flooded the internet, sparking much discussion, with some suggesting the Kumawood star was heartbroken.

Kwaku Manu later shared a photo of himself and his children with Okailey on social media, prompting some to question the timing of the post.

In contrast, others criticised his former wife for remarrying, but in a series of videos, the actor hit back at the wave of negativity.

In response to the widespread reactions and criticism surrounding her recent remarriage, Naa Okailey Nyarko, the ex-wife of Ghanaian actor Kwaku Manu, downplayed the online controversy.

She expressed confidence that the negative comments would not affect her happiness or the reality of her new marriage.

My acting career is not dead, I’m not into politics for money – Prince David Osei

Popular Ghanaian actor and NPP member Prince David Osei has responded to claims that his involvement in politics is due to his acting career being dead.

In an interview with GHOne TV, Prince David Osei described people who made those claims as “jokes.”

He stated that he has been actively filming and has several upcoming projects.

“I have been filming outside Ghana. My recent movie, ‘Letter to Goddo’, has been nominated for the Toronto Film Festival… So, if somebody tells me I’m doing politics because my career is dead, then that person is a joke,” he said.

When asked why he tends to feature in more Nigerian movies than Ghanaian movies, Prince David Osei explained that Ghanaian producers can’t pay him, hence his appearances in more Nigerian productions.

“Sometimes over here, they can’t pay me. When I mention my price, they can’t pay. And sometimes I do favours for some of the directors I know. But mostly, you know, they can’t pay,” he added.

Prince David Osei reiterated his support for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), stating that his support for the party was a personal choice and not motivated by money.

“People also have the perception that maybe it’s money. No. You can’t judge everybody and how they live. I’m not doing it for money or recognition or whatever. Nobody has given me any money for politics,” he said.

Renowned actor Prince David Osei earlier this year threw his full support behind Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to win the upcoming 2024 presidential election.

The endorsement came to light when he shared a photo of himself with Dr. Bawumia, who is the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) flagbearer.

Ohemaa Mercy Raises A Concern About Corporate Ghana Not Supporting Gospel Events

0

Popular Gospel musician, Ohemaa Mercy, has raised a concern about corporate Ghana not supporting Gospel events in the country.

She underscored how Gospel events are struggling when speaking with Graphic Showbiz ahead of this year’s Tehillah Experience.

According to her, most Gospel events are on ‘life support’—and need to be rescued.

If corporate Ghana does not support, Ohemaa said these events may not survive.

“For me, I think corporate institutions don’t really understand the business of gospel music. Oftentimes, they believe they shouldn’t meddle in religious activities. So it’s not even about it being a Christian event,” she stated.

“However, the situation is really dire because a lot goes into getting a good production for an event and here is the case where we mostly struggle to get corporate sponsorship.

“Meanwhile, the few that are probably willing to come on board may not be able to do so because certain brands cannot be associated with God’s business.

“There are restrictions and all these are working against us, putting most gospel events on ‘life support’ because of huge financial burdens. Whereas our colleague secular artistes are grabbing all the big sponsorships even though we sometimes put together better shows,” Ohemaa Mercy added.

Though it is difficult to organize Gospel events without sponsorship, she advised her colleagues not to give up.

“Embracing your calling is crucial as an up-and-coming artiste. When you understand your purpose and God’s plan for you, you’ll recognise that challenges are a natural part of the journey. These challenges foster maturity and growth.

“Instead of resisting them, accept them as opportunities for self-improvement, whether financial or otherwise. Remember, God’s intention is to refine and elevate you, not to hinder or embarrass you so keep going even without sponsorship,” the multiple-award-wining Gospel artiste averred.

She was however grateful to all those who have been supporting her over the years to make her event, Tehillah Experience a success.

“We’re thrilled to have Frytol and Telecel on board this year as sponsors, along with several generous individuals who are also supporting us”, Ohemaa added.

Themed “Tehillah The Bethel Experience”, this year’s event by Ohemaa Mercy will be held at the Oil Dome, Royal House Chapel International in Accra on Saturday, September 8, 2024.
