Star actress, Portia Asare, has publicly disclosed how a fellow actress whom she respects as a senior in the movie industry mocked and ridiculed her in front of Despite and Dr Ofori Sarpong.

According to Portia Asare, she was given a special invitation to attend Despite’s daughter’s wedding which was strictly by invitation and was attended by only elites.

Luckily for her, Despite and his family invited her to sit with them on the high table together with other affluent people.

While she was seated and the wedding ceremony was still in session, the co-actress made a grand entry and as a sign of respect, she stood up from the high table to go and greet and exchange pleasantries with her.

Shockingly, they were the only people in the entertainment industry to be invited to the wedding ceremony.

However, as the event progressed, the co-actress took the microphone to subtly ridicule her because her name was mentioned as part of the ‘big men & women’ who had attended the event.

The co-actress also failed to acknowledge her presence and behaved as if they’d never met.

This made Despite and his family very worried hence asked her if she had a problem with the co-actress which she replied in the affirmative NO.

According to Portia, this hidden hate for one another is the cause of the downfall of the local movie industry.

Portia Asare made this revelation during an exclusive interview with Alexis The Godson.

Efia disclosed that she entered into marriage in 2019 in a private ceremony attended by close family and friends.

Despite the low-key nature of the wedding, the circumstances surrounding it were far from ideal.

Efia revealed that her husband at the time was financially struggling, lacking substantial resources or assets.

She said; “The man I married was broke and didn’t have anything,” Efia admitted. “But I married him because I loved him and I thought love was enough to sustain the marriage.”

However, the dream of a loving and stable relationship soon turned into a nightmare.

Efia recounted that her husband was unfaithful on multiple occasions.

His infidelity involved relationships with wealthier women, which he allegedly pursued to support himself financially.

Kwabena Kwabena Was Victimised After He Endorsed NPP – Manager Replies Okraku-Mantey

0

The manager of Kwabena Kwabena, Nana Poku Ashis, has reacted to Mark Okraku-Mantey’s claim that the Highlife artiste became bigger after he endorsed the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

In a recent interview with Joy FM, Okraku-Mantey, the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, mentioned how some creatives have benefited from political affiliations.

He mentioned Kwabena Kwabena as an example, asserting that he attained greater feats after he endorsed President Akufo-Addo and the NPP.

But Ashis has disagreed with Mr Mantey’s assertion.

“He was victimised in a lot of circumstances. Some of his fans who are from the opposition side got angry with him for, you know, using his platform or his image to campaign for the NPP. So some people also felt a bit disappointed in him for doing that. And his Facebook comments, his social media comments, there were a lot of backlash, insults, and all that. Some people said that they were not going to go to his show again, his numbers started reducing and all that,” he told GhanaWeb’s Isaac Dadzie in an interview.

Kwabena Kwabena’s manager indicated that his artiste did not get support from the party after they won power.

“He thought that ‘my beloved party has come to power, I could make a few phone calls and then see how I could get help,’ which also all fell on deaf ears. He didn’t get any help from them. He had to struggle.

“Why are you trying to take credit for something you didn’t do? You didn’t create anything for him. You didn’t give him any money, you didn’t pay anything for him. So if he has become bigger, you can’t say he became bigger because he endorsed the NPP. He became bigger when you didn’t actually contribute to that. He rather got backlash after endorsing NPP. He had to work his way up. So Mark’s statement is vague,” he stated.

Ashis, however, clarified that Kwabena did not endorse Nana Addo because of money but it was out of genuine support.

“He wasn’t paid for anything. He wasn’t paid. He went in with love because he loved the candidate, Akufo Addo. Lessons learnt. Fair enough. So now, from here on, everything else will be business,” he emphasized.

I don’t have any interest in featuring in Nollywood movies – Nana Ama McBrown

0

Actress turn presenter Nana Ama McBrown has finally shared the reason why she has not featured in any Nollywood movies.

According to her, she is biased when it comes to anything that has to do with Ghana and Nigeria therefore she will always choose Ghana over any other country.

She continued, that that is the reason why she hardly associates herself with anything Nigerian.

Speaking on her Onua showtime, Nana Ama McBrown mentioned that she has a good rapport with Ghanaian musicians and ditching them to jam to Nigerian songs means she is betraying them.

“If you study me, you would know that I hardly jam to Nigerian songs on social media. I feel like I would have sinned against Ghanaian artistes,” the multiple-award-winning actress explained.

“I once watched Big Brother Naija last time and the show’s housemates have their party while I was eating.

I was there when I heard a DJ play Sarkodie’s song on the show. I decided to stand up and dance to the song, and then the DJ stopped playing the song after less than a minute.

Indirectly, I always fight with my Nigerian counterparts. This is why I don’t act in any Nigerian movie. I don’t feel them like that,” she said.
