My performance at NDC Youth manifesto launch was strictly business, not an endorsement – Olivetheboy

Ghanaian artiste, Olivetheboy has responded to the public concerns surrounding his recent performance at the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Youth Manifesto launch.

After viral videos of the artiste performing at the NDC Youth manifesto launch on Monday, August 12 surfaced, speculations have since been rife that he is associated with the party.

In an interview on Okay FM after his performance, the singer clarified that his appearance was strictly professional and not an endorsement of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Olivetheboy explained that, he received an invitation to perform from Sharaf Mahama, son of former President John Mahama, and viewed the opportunity as a business engagement.

“I was hired to perform, just like I am billed at Afrochella or any other event. My performance is not tied to any political endorsement,” he stated.

The artiste further expressed his apolitical stance, saying, “If NPP calls me today, I will perform. If CPP comes tomorrow, I will still go and perform. I have friends from all political parties, and if I have been hired to perform, I surely will.”

Addressing the critics, Olivetheboy noted that while some may question his decision, his loyal fans understand that his focus is on his career and the need to make a living.

“I see all the critics and I don’t even bother myself to respond, my fans will do that for me. I also have fans who know it’s purely business because I need to make some money,” he concluded.

Claims of juju in the movie industry are psychological – Arnold Asamoah Baidoo

Entertainment Pundit, Arnold Asamoah-Baidoo has argued that claims of voodoo, commonly known as ‘juju’ in Ghana, influencing the movie industry are more likely psychological phenomena or mere coincidences rather than actual supernatural interventions.

His argument was made during on United Showbiz on UTV on August 10, 2024, where he responded to recent assertions by some industry players that the decline of the Ghanaian movie industry could be attributed to juju.

Actress Portia Asare recently highlighted how the use of juju, driven by hatred, has negatively impacted the production and quality of movies in the industry.

But Arnold expressed confusion regarding these claims, noting that not all industry players share this belief.

“Things to do with juju always get me confused… I am a little bit ambivalent about its discussion. Because the industry players that go through situation is even a section. Because I’ve heard Lilwin say there is no juju (in the industry),” he stated.

Arnold also cited actress Yvonne Nelson, who in an interview in 2022, claimed to have been a victim of a juju attack.

Yvonne recounted an incident during the filming of the movie “Material Girl”, where she suspected her food or drink had been poisoned, leading to severe eye problems.

After medical treatment proved ineffective, Yvonne said she resorted to fasting and praying, which she believes miraculously resolved the issue.
“It got to a time I couldn’t shoot anymore, and I got two days off. I had to fast and pray for the two days, and it went off like magic. I believe a force and a spiritual something is happening around us,” she stated.

McBrown to fund release of 47 inmates for 47th birthday

Chief Executive Officer of the Crime Check Foundation, Ibrahim Oppong Kwarteng, has revealed that actress Nana Ama McBrown plans to fund the release of 47 prisoners.

He stated that this gesture is part of McBrown’s 47th birthday celebration on August 15, 2024.

“Nana Ama McBrown will turn 47 on August 15, and she will be funding the release of 47 prison inmates. I know whoever is watching this will be impressed and will say a prayer for her”, he stated in a viral video.

In the video, Mr. Oppong Kwarteng was seen with some inmates at the Akuse Prison, one of the facilities set to benefit from McBrown’s generosity.

“The Bible says we should draw near to the prisoners, be a source of encouragement to them, and share the good news, because being in prison is not a joke.” he further remarked.

Earlier in February 2024, during Mr. Oppong Kwarteng’s appearance on the ‘McBrown Kitchen’ show, McBrown, moved by his philanthropic works, pledged to contribute to his projects.

In a heartfelt update to the public, Drogba shared that he has now been diagnosed with Sleep Apnea, the reason he now uses breathing machine.

In a post on Instagram on Friday, August 9, he wrote: “Sleep apnea is a sleep disorder that occurs when a person’s breathing is interrupted during sleep.

It can cause a person to stop breathing for short periods, which can occur multiple times throughout the night.

This can lead to poor sleep quality, fatigue, and other health problems.”

The CPAP (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure) machine which is the breathing machine helps to keeps his airways open while asleep to allow him receive the oxygen he needs.

This new health disorder adds up to his Demyelination which he was diagnosed with few months back.

Social media sensation, Shatta Bandle has explained his reason for taking off his new teeth which he fixed weeks ago.

Shatta Bandle went viral on social media for fixing his teeth at Charisma Dental Care in Accra earlier on Friday, July 12.

His ‘missing’ tooth were fixed at the dental hospital of wife of Dancehall artiste, Stonebwoy, Dr Louisa Setakla.

However, few weeks after fixing his teeth, Shatta Bandle was seen on social media once more with his previous ‘missing’ tooth.

Netizens were left in awe and questioned the whereabouts of his newly fixed teeth.

Speaking on Showbiz 360 with Giovani Caleb on TV3, Shatta Bandle disclosed for the first why he chose to take off his fixed teeth.

The social media sensation said he only wanted to prove naysayers who thought he couldn’t afford to fix his teeth wrong, stressing that he’s now decided to take it off.

“People thought I don’t have money to fix teeth and I was just laughing at them, spending my money and leave them. Right now, I have fixed my teeth and taken it off and kept it in my shower,” he explained on Friday, August 9.
