I Am Not Prepared For A Leadership Position At MUSIGA – Okyeame Kwame

Okyeame Kwame is not ready for a leadership position at the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA).

In order to protect his hard-earned reputation, the Rap Docta averred he won’t try to take up any MUSIGA position.

The popular Ghanaian rapper indicated that he is not psychologically prepared—because it is a demanding role.

“Musicians are leaders by themselves, with millions of followers on their social media. So if you position yourself as a leader of musicians, you are indirectly a leader of leaders, and all these leaders have their own ideas and styles of leading to become successful.

“So immediately you position yourself in front of them, you have to be as dedicated as Obour was and be focused on doing it with all intensity, otherwise, you will fail,” he said on Okay FM.

“To tell you the truth, I am currently not psychologically prepared to be able to lead leaders. I think that it’s not yet my time. I’ve worked with MUSIGA, and GHAMRO and realized that I could not handle all that. Maybe in the future, I might.

“If I go, I may see negative headlines. I am not ready to sacrifice my image for MUSIGA. Maybe in the future. But for now, I am okay with being a member,” Okyeame Kwame added.

The Industry Is Yet To Accept The Versatility Of Artistes Writing Songs For Others – Kuami Eugene Claims

Young Ghanaian artistes, Kuami Eugene, thinks the industry has not accepted the versatility of artistes and their capabilities of writing songs for others.

He made this claim after comments about writing the ‘Victory’ for Joyce Blessing.

In his latest interview with Nana Ama McBrown on Onua Showtime, the Lynx Entertainment artiste disclosed the artistes he had written songs for.

They included Becca, Efya, MzVee, and Adina. According to him, he did that with discretion.

“I was just doing it behind closed doors because many people would not understand and the industry has not developed to the level where it can understand. People would ask “He does songs and writes songs for others?” he said.

Eugene further stated that the situation would have been worse if he had charged for his songwriting works since he was new to the industry at the time. He therefore had to “make some sacrifices and do some of them for free.”

Recently, the ‘Angela’ hitmaker had a songwriting issue with Mr Drew—but they settled it later.

One of Ghana’s most successful entertainment mogul, Desmond Kwesi Blackmore, well recognized by the name D-Black has joined the tall list of Ghanaian celebrities who have expressed their disappointment at Ghana’s President, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and his government.

The popular rapper and record label owner, during an interview with Giovani Caleb on TV3’s Showbiz 360 revealed that he believed in the ideologies and capabilities of the President and the governing party, but is now totally disappointed as Ghanaians keep suffering day in and day out. 

According to him, alot of promises made by the President while he was campaigning in 2016 have not been fulfilled, adding that the citizens of the country are devastated as they have been enduring hardship for a long while now.

”I believed in him but I don’t know what happened, I am disappointed in him. I am disappointed in the government, because alot of promises that were made were not fulfilled. The hardship the youth and the attire country is going through …. I mean we are not blind.”

”Some of the things are not right. Our economy is not in the best of shape. There are not enough hospitals. The roads are terrible. There’s so much going on… a lot of people are not happy,” he averred.

The ‘Vera’ hitmaker who doubles as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Black Avenue Muzik further asserted that there is a need for Ghanaian celebrities to voice their opinions on critical matters bothering the society.

According to him,“as entertainers and public figures and people that look up to us are expecting us to speak and air views and our opinions on these things.”

D-Black, despite his disappointment, expressed hope for a better future, saying, “we are just hoping for the best.”

In a conversation with Ghanaian blogger, Kobby Kyei, the actress said “Sometimes I ask myself that as humans what do we want on earth? Because when we were young, due to hardships and friends we do certain things. But for me, if I knew this who God would have made me, there some things that I wouldn’t have done“.

Touching on some of the things that she regretted doing, Nana Ama McBrown said she wouldn’t have mingled with certain friends. “If I knew everywhere I pass kids and adults would recognize me, like I wouldn’t have dated certain people, there are some friends I wouldn’t have made,” she said.

In an interview with Accra-based TV3, KiDi dispelled rumors surrounding his mental state and clarified the circumstances surrounding his previous heartbreak.

Singer Sefa has complained about how Ghanaians put pressure on artistes.

The Black Avenue Muzik singer raised a concern about how artistes in the country are pressured to release new songs.

Sefa, known as Sefadzi Abena Amesu in private life, was unhappy about this behaviour from Ghanaians.
