That’s the reason why I am not taking things for granted because around that time, there were other people who have become casualties or were involved, and so I don’t want to make it look as if I was a great person and somebody was bad.

“I feel that at a point in my life, I should have focused on my career more than any other thing. I shouldn’t have married then,” Kwabena Kwabena said.

Showbiz Does Not Pay In Ghana – Mikki Osei Berko

Veteran Ghanaian actor, Mikki Osei Berko, has commented on the state of showbiz in Ghana when it comes to remuneration.

Mikki, also known as Dada Boat, told Blakk Rasta in an interview on 3FM that showbiz in Ghana does not pay.

He, however, acknowledged how his role in the ‘Taxi Driver’ series helped him.

“What happened on the set of Taxi Driver for me was the experience aspect. I always look at the positive side of stuff. I could say Taxi Driver for me could say arguably is one of the projects that has made me who I am and you cannot count that in money,” said the veteran actor.

“With regards to financial returns, I think that it was not to write home about and I am saying this clearly because the system hasn’t changed,” he added.

Dada Boat thinks the perception of people also contributes to showbiz not paying in the country.

“You know people consider showbiz as a part-time business, they don’t really understand that it is what put food on your table. They think that if they ask you to MC their event and offer you food and drinks that’s it. People do not regard this as an endeavour that pays so much and it was the difficulty at the time and I think sponsorship contributed to that.”

“For me to say that Taxi Driver was something I’ve never regretted being part of because it added so much to my career. If you count that in money you can’t see anything,” he admitted.
