Invest A Portion Of The IMF Money In Our Music – Edem To Government

Rapper Edem has sent a message to the government of Ghana after the approval of the IMF bailout.

He pleaded with the government to invest in the creative art sector with a portion of the IMF money.

The ‘Toto’ composer reiterated the numerous talents in the country.

To him, it will help these talents if the government invests in marketing and PR for them.

“The talent in Ghana is in abundance be it reggae, dancehall, hip-life. Move to boxing or football and the talent is in abundance but the issue is with the resources so I think as the loan dey come, the government have to look sharp or what do you think?” he asked in an interview on TV3.

“People will search within them and bring whatever they want to bring but if it is not marketed people will not experience it so you might have a classic album and there are a lot of artistes who are really talented from the country they may have a classic album but because it is not marketed and publicized you will not be able to see that it is artistic,” Edem added.

The $3 billion IMF agreement was approved by the Board a few days ago, and it will be paid in portions.

“I always want to do more, I am not satisfied anytime I bring out something new. I know it could be better and the fact that I always strive for excellence has brought me this far.

“Although it is a lot of hard work, I don’t tell myself I know it all because of the experience I have. I put in a lot in production to get everything right,” she added.

Sound engineer, Willis Beatz, has disclosed how ready he is to work with Stonebwoy.

The Ghanaian music producer, known as William Osafo in private life revealed in a recent interview that he has not worked with Stonebwoy directly before.

He stated that he would love to create beats for the Burniton Music Group boss.

Ghanaian sound engineer, Willis Beatz, has talked about his working relationship with some musicians in the country.

In a recent interview with Graphic Showbiz, the popular music producer indicated that he hasn’t met most of the musicians he has worked for.

He opened up on how they go about with the work.

“Truth is that I haven’t met most of the artistes I have worked for but there are also a good number of them that I have personally met but as long as I get the work done, we are cool.

“They do the vocals and send it to me then I create the beats, mix and master and we are good to go,” he stated.

Willis Beatz described his journey as a successful one.

“It has been a long journey but the best way I can describe the entire journey is that it has been very successful.”

Talking about challenges, he averred: “You know we do this together and put our minds together so there are times I make a suggestion but some of them refuse to take it and insist on doing their own thing, that is about the only major challenge I face otherwise everything is fine.

“However, this doesn’t happen with every artiste I work with, every artiste is unique in their own way. It just happens every now and then with some of them but I manage it and we are always good.”
