We Will Win – Akosua Serwaa Breaks Her Silence Following Daddy Lumba’s Disputed Funeral And Court Battle (Video)

0

Akosua Serwaa Fosuh, the first wife of Ghanaian Highlife musician Daddy Lumba, has spoken publicly for the first time following the controversy that occurred after the musician’s death.

Since Lumba’s death on July 26, 2025, a series of legal disputes has broken out over who should be recognized as his rightful widow. Akosua Serwaa filed a suit seeking a court declaration that she was the musician’s only legal spouse.

However, on Friday, November 28, 2025, the Kumasi High Court ruled that both Odo Broni, legally known as Priscilla Ofori Atta, and Akosua Serwaa Fosuh qualify as Lumba’s legitimate spouses.

The ruling followed weeks of public debate and legal confrontation over who should perform the widowhood rites, who holds authority over the late musician’s estate, and who should be acknowledged as his widow.

In its decision, the court noted that Akosua Serwaa did not provide the original documents to prove a civil marriage with Lumba. The evidence presented consisted of extracts rather than an authentic, certified marriage certificate.

Following the judgment, her lawyer, William Kusi, disclosed that his client has instructed him to file an appeal.

In a video shared online, Akosua Serwaa expressed gratitude to her supporters, saying their encouragement has strengthened her during this period.

She expressed confidence in eventually winning the case and added that she never realized how much people cared for her until this issue emerged.

Speaking on UTV’s cooking show, Yeboah recounted his very first movie role nearly two decades ago, revealing the tiny payment he received and how he turned it into a spiritual investment.

“I shot my first movie 18 years ago. I was paid GH₵20 but I didn’t spend a penny from it. I took it to church, prayed on the money and used it to sow a seed in church,” he said.

“Biased Man of God!” — MC Yaa Yeboah Fires At Papa Shee In On-Air Clash

Controversy surrounding the funeral arrangements of the late Highlife legend Charles Kwadwo Fosu, popularly known as Daddy Lumba, intensified over the weekend after a heated exchange broke out live in the studios of UTV.

This comes in the wake of a Kumasi High Court ruling on November 28, 2025, delivered by Her Ladyship Dorinda Smith Arthur, which granted Daddy Lumba’s partner, Odo Broni, the right to perform the widowhood rites.

The decision followed a petition by Lumba’s wife, Akosua Serwaa, who sought to be declared the only legal surviving spouse.

In response to the ruling, Daddy Lumba’s family head, Kofi Owusu, and Evangelist Papa Shee, a vocal supporter of Akosua Serwaa, appeared on United Showbiz on November 29, 2025, to clarify the family’s position.

During the discussion, tensions flared between Papa Shee and one of the show’s panelists, MC Yaa Yeboah, at a time Abusuapanyin Kofi Owusu was explaining how he secured a loan during Lumba’s one-week observation.

In viral videos circulating online, MC Yaa Yeboah accused Papa Shee of being biased and failing to speak truthfully.

According to MC Yaa Yeboah, Papa Shee has refused to speak the truth despite the odds not being in his favour.

“I am putting it to you, you are a biased man of God. You call yourself a man of God, yet look at the behaviour you are portraying,” MC Yaa Yeboah stated.

After MC Yaa Yeboah’s statement, Papa Shee clapped back at her, accusing the media personality of being disrespectful.

“Are you the host to tell me to calm down? Am I talking to you? … That is my behavior. Look at how you have dressed. You are a very disrespectful person, and we have been watching you. You have to be fair in your programs.

“I am a family member, and I am representing Akosua Brempongmaa and Wofa Yaw Poku. The blood running through my veins is the same blood running through Abusuapanyin,” he said.

Also, during the discussion, Papa Shee insisted that the late Daddy Lumba’s funeral, scheduled for December 13, 2025, will not come off.

According to him, the late musician’s family is not prepared to hold the burial ceremony.

“The burial ceremony on December 13 will not come off because the musician’s children have exams on February 26, 2026, and others have expired passports,” Papa Shee claimed.
