I Wish Daddy Lumba’s Funeral Could Be Postponed For A Year – Kumchacha Explains Why

0

Calls to delay the funeral of late Ghanaian musician Daddy Lumba intensified after Prophet Kumchacha urged the family to halt the ceremony for a full year.

Kumchacha made the appeal during a discussion on United Showbiz on Saturday, November 16, 2025. He said the persistent disputes, particularly the uproar surrounding the alleged GH₵30,000 withdrawal by the family head, have created confusion and unnecessary tension at a time when plans were nearly complete.

“If not that the elders have set the funeral date to December 13, I wish the funeral could be postponed for a year. Daddy Lumba should be in the mortuary for a year so that all these shenanigans will cool down,” he said.

He explained that the latest disagreement resurfaced just as the arrangements were reaching their final stage, a development he believes has frustrated supporters and fueled criticism of the organizing process.

Kumchacha also questioned the justification given by Abusuapanin Kofi Owusu for taking the GH₵30,000, insisting that responsibilities toward the late musician’s wives should fall naturally on the family head.

“We were almost done and now, the family head’s money issue popped up again. He is claiming he paid for the goat and gave both women money for upkeep. What if that money wasn’t available?

“He is the elder in the family and it’s his responsibility to cater for the wives. Where would he have gotten the money from? He said he went to get a loan; the GH₵30,000 that’s supposed to be saved could have been sent somewhere they would not touch the money,” he noted.

According to Kumchacha, the family head has been linked to problems since the very beginning of the funeral planning process. He believes this recurring tension has discouraged many people from offering their support.

“From day one, people have been tagging him with problems. If not that the elders have confirmed the date, I really wish they could postpone the funeral. Many people have given up on the funeral already. Even though I believe people will show up for the funeral, they would show up more if there were no controversies going on,” he further stated.

Captain Planet Sparks Debate Over “Indecent” Outfits at Tidal Rave 2025

0

Captain Planet has ignited a heated debate on social media after criticizing the outfits worn by some young female attendees at this year’s Tidal Rave festival.

In a post shared shortly after the event, the rapper expressed shock over what he described as increasingly revealing fashion choices among young women.

“I just dey see some dressings from yesterday’s Tidal Rave. Chaley, some of these small, small girls—I don’t know whether them be models or pornstars. What the hell is happening in Ghana?” he wrote.

His comments immediately drew backlash online, with critics accusing him of disrespecting women and attempting to police their bodies. Many argued that fashion trends evolve and that festivals have long been spaces for creative and expressive dressing.

Some users insisted that his remarks perpetuate harmful stereotypes about women’s clothing choices and unfairly place moral judgment on the younger generation.

In response to the criticism, Captain Planet doubled down on his stance, clarifying that his concerns were rooted in what he called “decency,” not an attempt to restrict personal freedom.

“So you go allow your sister to dress like this outside?” he fired back at one critic. “You’re comparing Ghana to America?”

His rebuttal has further intensified the conversation online, with supporters agreeing that Ghanaian youth are becoming overly exposed to Western culture, while others argue that societal expectations should not dictate how women dress.
