Sammy Flex Describes His New Role as Shatta Wale’s PR & Media Manager as “Excellent”

Public relations expert and broadcaster, Sammy Flex, has expressed satisfaction with his new role as the PR and Media Manager for Ghanaian dancehall superstar Shatta Wale, describing the experience as both “smooth and excellent.”

Speaking on Joy FM’s Showbiz A-Z with Kwame Dadzie, Sammy Flex reflected on his transition from his previous position as Shatta Wale’s overall manager, noting that the change has been seamless and fulfilling.

“Personally, I don’t see so much change like that,” he said. “When I started, there were some KPIs that I was supposed to meet for the brand. And I think in about two, three years, we all saw that something was looking good, so we said why not spread it so other people can also take other roles for us to grow bigger.”

According to him, Shatta Wale’s recent positive image and growing goodwill within the Ghanaian music industry are a result of teamwork and the artist’s own determination to evolve.

“I still want to believe it is the general work of the entire team, including Shatta Wale himself,” Sammy Flex explained. “Because if he is not willing to make it happen like that, you alone cannot do it. At the end of the day, the discussion is always about him. So imagine you go and say A and he does B — what will you do? But he has also decided to take a different position in this whole music thing. I believe that is why we are seeing all this.”

When asked to rate his performance so far, Sammy Flex was upbeat about his achievements.

“It’s been excellent! So far so good, and we are happy with the result we are seeing,” he declared.

In recent months, Shatta Wale has revamped his management structure, introducing new team members and specialized portfolios to expand the Shatta Movement brand and enhance its global footprint.

Highlife Deserves Special Attention – Bessa Simons Explains What Should Be Done To Win Back The Youth

0

Renowned Highlife musician and MUSIGA President, Bessa Simons, has raised an alarm over an existential crisis for Highlife music in Ghana. Once the heartbeat of the nation’s sound, the genre is now losing its footing among younger generations who increasingly lean toward Afrobeats and Amapiano.

Speaking in an interview with Graphic Showbiz, Simons lamented the fading appreciation for Highlife’s signature rhythms and narratives.

“Highlife should be getting special attention. We have to work hard to make the youth believe in it again,” he said, stressing that negative perceptions of veteran Highlife musicians have only deepened the genre’s decline.

According to Simons, today’s music may carry subtle traces of Highlife, but the essential elements that gave the sound its emotional depth are missing.

“The problem is that the new songs lack the core ingredients that gave traditional Highlife its soul,” he noted.

The MUSIGA President also admitted that part of the problem stems from within the genre, placing some responsibility on himself and other pioneers for stepping back too early. “The older guys stopped recording too early — and I include myself in that,” he confessed. “If we had continued releasing music, there would be more authentic Highlife around for the younger generation to learn from.”

Simons acknowledged that some work is being done to revive the genre but insisted that more is needed at both the industry and national levels, including better documentation, education, and technological integration.

“If we don’t act now, we risk losing one of our richest cultural legacies,” he warned, urging all stakeholders to help restore Highlife to its rightful place in Ghana’s music heritage.

You Don’t Know If She’s A Witch Or A Ghost – Piesie Esther Issues Stern Warning To Men Over One-Night Stands

Ghanaian gospel singer Piesie Esther has given a piece of advice to men. She told them to think twice before taking unfamiliar women into their homes, cautioning that such impulsive decisions can come with severe consequences.

During an interview with Nana Romeo on Okay FM, the ‘Mo’ singer was concerned about a trend she believes is growing among some men who meet women at nightclubs, events, or on the street and bring them home the same evening.

“Some men have a habit of engaging in dangerous situations. A man can meet a lady he doesn’t know from anywhere, at a club or on the street, and take her to his house that very night. That is very daring,” she said.

According to Piesie Esther, these choices not only expose men to physical harm but also to deep spiritual dangers.

“You wouldn’t know if that person is a witch, a ghost, a snake, or even a marine spirit. Not every woman has good energy. When such people come close to you, things can start going wrong, you may lose everything,” she cautioned.

Esther also noted that beyond spiritual implications, men could face serious legal complications if something were to go wrong.

“What if you pick up a lady you know nothing about, and she dies in your bed? How would you explain yourself?” she asked.

Piesie Esther further urged men to exercise self-control and discernment in their relationships, stressing that “not every woman is meant to be taken home.”
