Dress Well To Win Souls – Brother Sammy Tells Christians To Embrace Fashion In Church

Brother Sammy has taken a firm stance against Ghanaian churches that impose strict dress codes. He averred that such rules discourage people from attending church and push away those who need spiritual guidance the most.

Speaking on Hitz FM, the Ghanaian gospel artiste questioned the long-held belief that Christians must appear overly modest or poorly dressed to prove their faith.

According to him, looking good and dressing well can actually inspire others to come to church.

“Just because you are a Christian doesn’t mean you should dress like a pauper. Dress fashionably. Christians are supposed to look fashionable to attract ‘worldly’ people to God. So when they see you dressing good, they will be like, ‘I can also dress like that and come to church,’” Brother Sammy stated.

He recounted an experience where a woman declined his invitation to church, explaining that she didn’t have the “right” clothes to wear. Sammy said that the incident showed how church culture sometimes creates unnecessary barriers.

He expressed disappointment that many people have left church communities after facing criticism for their appearance, such as having dreadlocks, tattoos, or unconventional clothing styles.

“Many people have left the church because they were discriminated against for their dressing, or because they had dreadlocks or because they had tattoos. But those are rather the people that should be in church,” he said.

Explaining his reason for dressing with flair, Brother Sammy said his fashion sense is part of his message about modern Christianity.

“That is why I have changed my life. No one in Ghana wears better suits than me. I dress this way to prove that Christianity can look good. It is to show that no matter how you look, Christ still loves you, so come to him,” the ‘Aduro Biaa Nkadem’ singer further stated.

Daddy Lumba’s two sisters, Ernestina Fosu and Faustina Fosu, together with his first wife, Akosua Serwaa, have called for the arrest of Odo Broni and the late musician’s manager, Roman Fada.

In a communiqué sighted on social media, the trio expressed deep concern about the circumstances surrounding Daddy Lumba’s death, alleging that there are unanswered questions and possible foul play.

According to them, the family has yet to receive clear information on what caused the music icon’s passing, prompting suspicions that Odo Broni; the woman who lived with Daddy Lumba until his death, and his longtime manager, Roman Fada, may be withholding vital information.

“The family is also calling on the Ghana Police Criminal Investigations Department (CID) to question Mr. Priscilla O. and Mr. Philip Kwabena A. (also known as Roman Fada) to assist in uncovering the truth about the death of their loved one, Charles Kwadwo Fosuh,” part of the statement read.

The family has also extended their plea beyond Ghana, urging the German Embassy in Accra, the Federal Criminal Police Office (Bundeskriminalamt – BKA) in Wiesbaden, Germany, and the German Federal Foreign Office (Auswärtiges Amt) in Berlin to take an interest in the case, considering Daddy Lumba’s long-standing ties to Germany.

The communiqué emphasized the family’s commitment to ensuring transparency and justice, insisting that the circumstances surrounding the Highlife legend’s death must be thoroughly investigated.

The call for investigation adds to the growing public tension between Akosua Serwaa, Daddy Lumba’s legally recognized wife, and Odo Broni, his alleged second partner.

Daddy Lumba Reportedly Sacked Odo Broni From His House Weeks Before His Demise — Family Insider Claims

Fresh revelations surrounding the private life of late Highlife legend Daddy Lumba have emerged, suggesting there was growing tension between him and his partner, Priscilla Ofori Atta, popularly known as Odo Broni, before his passing.

According to Nana Kwasi Sarfo, also known as Jigga, a close family associate who represents the musician’s surviving siblings; Ernestina Fosuh and Faustina Fosuh, Daddy Lumba allegedly sacked Odo Broni from their home just weeks before his death.

Speaking in an interview with ZionFelix, Nana Sarfo revealed that despite the family’s recognition of Odo Broni as Lumba’s partner, the musician never officially married her.

He explained that even the family head, Abusuapanin Kofi Owusu, had previously disclosed that Odo Broni herself admitted she was not legally married to the late singer.

“Abusuapanin Kofi Owusu told me that Odo Broni herself confessed that Lumba never married her,” Nana Sarfo stated.

The family representative further alleged that, contrary to public perception, Lumba and Odo Broni’s relationship was far from the ideal love story portrayed in the media.

“Those who are saying Akosua Serwaa has divorced, ask where the woman who was living with the man is. If she was not sacked from the house, why did she have to beg through some respected people before being allowed back?” he questioned.

Nana Sarfo recounted that Odo Broni was kicked out of Lumba’s home following a dispute, but prominent figures later intervened to reconcile the two.

He added that the legendary musician only allowed her back into the house two weeks before his passing.

The revelation has added a new twist to the ongoing controversy surrounding Daddy Lumba’s personal life, particularly amid the legal battles between his first wife, Akosua Serwaa, and the family over funeral arrangements and marital claims.

As of now, neither Odo Broni nor Daddy Lumba’s family head has publicly responded to Nana Sarfo’s assertions.

Any Artiste Who Says They Don’t Want Awards Is Lying – Ras Kuuku

Ras Kuuku has chastised musicians who claim they are not motivated by awards.

He called such statements dishonest and hypocritical during an interview with Doreen Avio and Kwame Dadzie on Hitz FM.

Kuuku argued that recognition is an essential part of every artiste’s journey, and awards represent the ultimate acknowledgement of one’s craft and impact.

“Any artiste who says they don’t do music for awards is lying. Awards bring joy and make fans proud. It’s a recognition of your hard work. When you win, it means the music you planted has borne fruit. If you don’t, then maybe what you sowed failed to be harvested,” he said.

According to Ras Kuuku, awards not only validate creativity but also motivate artistes to refine their work and stand out from the crowd.

He stressed that recognition separates serious artistes from the rest, adding that “those who say they don’t want awards are the same ones who love comparisons. Awards set you apart. If you’re an artiste, whether legendary or not, and you’ve never won a TGMA, then there’s something wrong.”

The reggae and dancehall artiste revealed that many artistes secretly feel disappointed when they are overlooked during major award events, noting that some even cry in private after missing out.

Ras Kuuku said his own awards are a source of pride and fulfilment, proof that his dedication has paid off. He encouraged the industry and fans to continue valuing platforms like the Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA), which he believes drive excellence and strengthen the bond between musicians and their audiences.

Gospel Singer Edward Akwasi Boateng To End Marriage To Avoid Future Family Feud

Ghanaian Gospel musician, Edward Akwasi Boateng, has talked about his intention to formally dissolve his marriage to avoid potential disputes over his estate after his death.

His decision was based on the recent controversy surrounding the widows of late Highlife legend Daddy Lumba.

Speaking on Kumasi-based Hello FM, Boateng disclosed that he plans to visit the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) to begin the divorce process.

“Looking at what’s happening, I’ve decided to go to the KMA to end my marriage. It’s worrying that after separating from your wife, when you die, she might show up to fight with your family, claiming to be the rightful wife. I won’t allow that. She left me, so I’ll take the step to legally dissolve the marriage,” he said.

Boateng’s decision follows years of marital struggles that, according to him, left deep emotional and financial scars.

He claimed in an earlier interview that his marriage cost him a fleet of 17 vehicles and nearly all his possessions.

The ‘M’akoma So Ade’ singer recalled that his wife had encouraged him to spend extravagantly, only to leave him after moving to the United States. The end of the marriage, he said, pushed him into financial hardship, at times making it difficult to pay his children’s school fees or meet other basic needs.
