“Since I was young, I’ve never really had a friend and I do not have any friend. The only person I ever considered a friend, someone I could visit, eat with, and share things like clothes and time with, was Akrobeto. But as life would have it, we don’t meet as often anymore.

“Still, he makes the effort to check on me, and we talk about many things. Honestly, I don’t know how to build friendships or how people just sit around and chat. I’ve never known how that’s done,” he said.

Agya Koo also talked about his reserved nature within the movie industry, saying he often keeps to himself on set and avoids social gatherings with colleagues once filming ends.

According to him, he rarely leaves his home and spends most of his time indoors, describing himself as someone who has grown accustomed to isolation.

No One Has The Right To Claim Lumba’s Body Until Court Rules — Akosua Serwaa And Musician’s Sister Reveal

Some family members of the late highlife legend, Charles Kwadwo Fosuh, popularly known as Daddy Lumba, have reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring that the musician is laid to rest with dignity and in accordance with the law.

In a statement issued after a court sitting on Thursday, October 16, 2025, the widow, Mrs. Akosua Serwah Fosuh, and the late singer’s elder sister, Ms. Ernestina Fosuh, expressed gratitude to the public for their support as they continue to seek clarity on who holds lawful authority over the custody and funeral arrangements of the deceased.

Represented by Counsel William Kusi, the family maintained that the case before the court aims to establish the widow’s legal standing to oversee her husband’s burial. The suit, which remains before a competent court, has been adjourned to October 28, 2025, when a possible judgment is anticipated.

They reiterated that no individual or group, including Mr. Kofi Owusu (Abusua Panyin) or his associates, has the legal right to claim or remove Daddy Lumba’s body from the Transition Funeral Home in Haatso, Accra, until the court issues a final ruling. They warned that any such attempt would constitute a violation of ongoing proceedings and could attract serious legal consequences.

During an earlier sitting, Her Ladyship Justice Dorinda Smith Arthur cautioned the defendants against any deliberate delay tactics, emphasizing that such actions could result in cost penalties. The Fosuh family, in turn, praised the court for its professionalism, fairness, and adherence to due process.

“The Fosuh family remains confident that the rule of law will prevail and that the dignity of the late Mr. Charles Fosuh will be protected,” the statement read. “We also believe that the outcome of this case will set an important legal precedent, reinforcing the rights of lawful spouses and women in similar circumstances across Ghana.”

Akosua Serwaa Is The Victim, Not Odo Broni — Lawyer Defends First Wife In Daddy Lumba Funeral Dispute

Lawyer Williams Kusi, counsel for Akosua Serwaa in the ongoing legal dispute over the funeral of Daddy Lumba, has said his client is the true victim in the family feud, not Priscilla Ofori, also known as Odo Broni.

Addressing the media on Thursday, October 16, after the court adjourned the injunction hearing, Lawyer Kusi explained that Lumba’s family stands firmly behind Akosua Serwaa. He revealed that one of the late musician’s sisters appeared in court as Serwaa’s representative, and that shows the family’s loyalty.

“I have the sister of Lumba here and she represented Akosua Serwaa in court today and this demonstrates the kind of love the family has for Akosua Serwaa,” he said. “So those out there who are making noise and making statement, they need to understand how all these things played out. And they should know that Akosua Serwaa is the victim not Odo Broni.”

The lawyer attributed the escalating tension to the actions of the family head, Kofi Owusu Fosu, whom he accused of fueling the dispute. “Unfortunately, you know the posture of the Head of Family from the beginning, that is the cause of the problem. If letters are written to you, denying you of your rights as a wife, I am sure that you cannot just sleep and let it pass by so that is the originating issue,” he added.

He emphasized that Akosua Serwaa and her children remain dedicated to preserving Daddy Lumba’s legacy and ensuring he receives a dignified burial. “We are committed to protecting the integrity of Lumba and we are ready to work within time to ensure that on the date that has been set, the funeral will come on and that is our project and what we are going to do,” he stated.

This was after a Kumasi High Court presided over by Justice Dorinda Smith Arthur adjourned the case to October 28, 2025. The suit, filed by Akosua Serwaa, seeks to affirm her status as the musician’s only surviving spouse and the sole person entitled to perform widowhood rites at his funeral.

While the family has announced December 6, 2025, for the final funeral rites, the legal impasse threatens to disrupt those plans. During the hearing, lawyers representing the family head and Odo Broni contested Serwaa’s right to bring the matter before the court, but her counsel argued that the injunction request must first be addressed.

Justice Smith Arthur encouraged both parties to pursue an amicable resolution but noted that the court would give the case priority if they chose to proceed with litigation.

Meanwhile, Akosua Serwaa claimed in her suit that her marriage to Daddy Lumba remained legally valid at the time of his death and is asking the court to restrain Odo Broni from presenting herself publicly as the singer’s widow.
