Celebrated gospel musician Abena Serwaa Ophelia formerly known as Ophelia Nyantakyi has shed some light on her failed marriage to fellow musician Collins Nyantakyi which happened 12 years back.
When probed by Zionfelix as to the actual cause of the breakup, she was a bit adamant but said “circumstances caused me to fall out of love so I instigated the breakup because I wanted to save my life for the sake of our childeen”. The minstrel who is out with a new single, Sing My Praise featuring Rose Adjei further revealed that her love for the ex-husband kept decreasing by the day due to his actions so it was only right to call for a divorce.
To her, she could have lost her life or cheated on the husband if she had not opted for a divorce, an action she was not ready to experience.
Even though Abena Serwaa Ophelia is still not with her ex-husband for about 12 years, she told Zionfelix on the ‘Uncut’ program that they have a communication when necessary because they have children both have to cater for.
Abena Serwaa who doubles as a fashion designer shares three children with her ex husband.
The singer who is gearing up to mark her 20th year in the industry adviced the youth to be prayerful before settling down.
She adviced the youth to look beyond the ceremony and brace themselves for a tough journey.
