Radio and TV presenter, Abeiku Aggrey Santana has in an interview with Zionfelix on his ‘Brunch To Launch Show’ on Radio Univers offered a rebuttal to the statement of the president of ATWAG, William Asiedu, which stated that Kumawood actor, Lilwin was wrong to have arrested Ohemaa Candace, of Ghsplash.com for writing fake news about him.

Mr. Asiedu earlier on the same program had told Zionfelix that Lilwin’s move to arrest the young female blogger was wrong after talking to lawyers. The president of the Arts and Tourism Writers Association of Ghana (ATWAG) explained that the repeal of the criminal libel law makes it quite unfortunate for the police to have used the handcuffs on the lady whose name is only known as Candice which has resulted to her pictures popping up all over social media

But the host of Okay FM’s drive show has given a contrary view to the claim by William Asiedu that this case is only a civil matter and didn’t need the police to arrest the lady with handcuffs. Abeiku Santana believes that because the fake story the lady wrote about Lilwin involves him knocking a lady down with a car, it becomes criminal and not civil.

Abeiku also adds that because the lady puts a story about Lilwin being involved in a hit and run, somebody could have just seen him and out of anger caused an injury on him, which is also a criminal matter. He finally makes the point that because the story of the lady is not true, and the pictures she used in the story are very fake, it becomes a criminal matter because it causes an image damage to Lilwin.

In as much as he agrees with Lilwin going to the police station to fight for his rights, he believes that the lady will be set free very soon. Abeiku revealed that he has spoken with Lilwin who has agreed to withdraw the case from the police station because he may not even get the time to follow the case through.

In giving a background to the story, Abeiku Santana stated when speaking to the show host, Zionfelix that Ohemaa Candace came earlier to the reception of the Ship House of the Despite group and heard a conversation between one of the receptionist and Lilwin. The radio and TV host added during the radio interview that the receptionist asked Lilwin if he had knocked down a car with a lady before he came to the Ship House. It is as a result of this particular interaction that the lady blogger went all out and wrote the story without checking to see if it was true or false.

Abeiku Santana further revealed that after the news went viral, Lilwin gave Candace the opportunity to take down the publication because it was not true. He added that even though the lady was asked to pull down the story, she failed to do so. Her refusal was what pushed Lilwin to go to the Tesano police station, Abeikua Santana revealed.
