Brother Of Late TikToker Osanju Speaks On Circumstances Leading To His Death

0

The younger brother of late Ghanaian TikTok star Frimpong Elvis, popularly known as Osanju, has spoken publicly for the first time since his sibling’s sudden death on Monday, September 1, 2025.

The TikTok community was thrown into mourning after news broke that the vibrant content creator had passed away just hours after interacting with fans in a live session following FC Barcelona’s draw against Rayo Vallecano.

Speaking in an interview with Kumasi-based blogger Nana Baffour, Osanju’s brother recounted the events that unfolded before his tragic demise.

According to him, the social media personality had been in high spirits on Sunday, August 31, 2025, when he watched the Barcelona match and later hosted a live TikTok session.

However, he later complained of a severe headache before bidding farewell to his landlord and retiring to his room.

At around 2 a.m., the landlord reportedly rushed to Osanju’s room after hearing unusual sounds and discovered him lying unconscious on the floor.

He immediately alerted others, who helped rush the TikToker to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.

Unfortunately, efforts to save his life proved futile, as doctors pronounced him dead.

The young man’s passing comes just months after he buried his late mother, Veronica Frimpong, also known as Amonu, in January 2025—a loss that had deeply affected him.

Tributes have since poured in across social media, with fans and colleagues describing Osanju as a lively and inspirational figure who touched lives with his creativity and openness about his struggles.

Sarkodie Recounts How News Of Daddy Lumba’s Death Forced Him To Stop Driving

Popular Ghanaian rapper, Sarkodie, has opened up about the moment he first heard the devastating news of Daddy Lumba’s death.

Speaking during a live Instagram session on September 1, 2025, which was later shared on X, Sarkodie revealed that he was behind the wheel when the call came through. The shock was so overwhelming that he immediately pulled over.

He recalled how difficult it was to process the news, given his deep admiration for the late musician. “If I had heard it from anywhere else, I wouldn’t have taken it seriously, but the person who called me, I actually parked because I was driving. I don’t know what came over me, but I started calling his phone. It was going through, but no one picked,” he said.

The following day, Sarkodie’s phone rang again, this time displaying Daddy Lumba’s number. What followed was both unsettling and heartbreaking. “The next morning, I saw his number calling me. It was a bit scary, but it was his wife, Odo Broni, who actually confirmed it,” he explained.

“It was a privilege to be on a song with him, and I also had the opportunity to visit him at home. Sometimes he makes me come and speak to me about how the industry is and what I can learn from it,” Sarkodie stated.

“This is someone I look up to, so when I heard the news, I couldn’t doubt because of who called me,” he added.

Beaming with joy, the award-winning singer addressed her supporters and media gathered at the airport, reflecting on her two-decade journey in gospel music.

‘It Doesn’t Last’ – Ambolley Criticizes Tech-Driven Music

0

Gyedu-Blay Ambolley, a veteran Ghanaian musician, has raised fresh concerns about the direction of modern music, warning that the industry’s growing dependence on technology is stripping songs of depth and durability.

Speaking on Joy Prime’s Prime Time show, Ambolley argued that young artists are chasing speed and convenience at the expense of creativity. According to him, the quick-fix approach made possible by digital tools undermines both artistry and lyrical substance. “Shortcuts in music are not good,” he cautioned. “It makes your music ‘sharp sharp’; it doesn’t last.” He explained that “sharp sharp” refers to the fast-food style of music production that lacks soul, substance, and staying power.

With a career spanning decades, including his pioneering fusion of rap and highlife in the 1970s, Ambolley lamented that many up-and-coming talents now bypass the discipline of learning instruments, mastering theory, or building stagecraft. In earlier years, he said, such training instilled patience and originality. Today, however, a beat can be downloaded, lyrics patched together, and a track uploaded in hours, often without real collaboration.

He also highlighted how technology has weakened the human side of music-making. Many young collaborators, he explained, simply send him files to record a feature but rarely follow up before rushing the final product to the airwaves. “When they send the music, I do my part, but after that, they don’t come back for me to listen to the entire song. Before I know it, it’s on air,” he revealed, describing the process as impersonal and fragmented.

Despite his criticisms, Ambolley noted that not all artists have abandoned the essentials. He praised figures like Kofi Kinaata for holding on to songwriting discipline and storytelling traditions rather than bending entirely to trends and algorithms.

“If you don’t have good people around you, there’s no one to advise you when the path you’re taking is not the right one,” he remarked.

MzGee Claps Back At Judgment Over Childbirth Outside Wedlock

0

MzGee has strongly defended her decision to have a child outside of marriage. She emphasized that no one has the authority to dictate how she lives.

Speaking on her Gee O’Clock show, the media personality opened up about the pressure society places on women, particularly around marriage and motherhood.

“As a young lady growing up, the prayer was always to get married, have children, and live happily ever after. But life had a different plan for me,” she said.

Following her divorce, MzGee recalled being constantly reminded about her “ticking biological clock.” Friends, relatives, and even strangers encouraged her to remarry quickly and have children before it was “too late.”

By 38, she was still unmarried. Faced with the choice of waiting or taking control of her own future, she chose the latter. On January 13, 2025, she announced the birth of her son. Instead of widespread congratulations, her decision attracted harsh criticism from some who accused her of “going against God’s order.”

Responding directly, she fired back: “Who made you God over us? Why do you use God to judge women like me? God is merciful, not you. I will thank God for my child any day.”

MzGee further condemned the double standards women face when having children outside marriage, pointing out that men in the same position are rarely judged.

“When men have children outside wedlock, society looks away. But when women do it, suddenly everyone becomes a judge. Even women join the chorus against us. We are tired,” she said.

MzGee urged compassion over criticism, especially toward women who are divorced or still waiting for marriage despite their hopes.

“If you know what divorce feels like, or what it means to wait endlessly for marriage that never comes, you will not cast stones. Don’t shame us, pray for us. At my age, I know what I am doing. This is my life and my choice,” she added.

Lack Of Sponsors Led To Cancellation Of Daddy Lumba’s Kumasi Candlelight Vigil – Mr Bones Claims

0

Media personality Mr Bones has offered a different explanation for why Daddy Lumba’s candlelight vigil in Kumasi was called off.

The vigil, originally scheduled for August 9, 2025, was meant to follow a successful tribute held in Accra by the Creative Arts Council. But two days before the event, a statement signed by Mr. Gideon Aryeequaye of the Creative Arts Agency announced its cancellation.

The release explained that the decision was tied to a directive from President John Dramani Mahama, who had declared three days of national mourning from August 7 to 9 after a helicopter crash claimed the lives of eight people, including senior government officials.

Organizers promised to reschedule the Kumasi vigil, though no new date has since been confirmed. In the meantime, Daddy Lumba’s one-week observation was held on August 30, 2025.

Speaking on Fakye TV, Mr Bones alleged that the real reason for the cancellation had little to do with the mourning period. According to him, “they were not getting sponsors,” suggesting financial constraints derailed the event.

He further argued that the Creative Arts Council was unprepared from the outset, noting their late arrival in Kumasi as proof. In his words, the organizers merely “used the national mourning as a coverup” for calling off the program.

Mr Bones concluded that had the Council been properly prepared, the event could still have gone on.

Black Sherif Explains Why He Chose Responsibility Over Revenge

0

Black Sherif says time and growth have reshaped how he views revenge, turning what was once a desire for payback into a commitment to responsibility and clarity.

In a recent interview with Dose Society, later shared by Empire on X, the chart-topping artiste admitted that during his younger years, he often imagined confronting those who mistreated him on his path to success.

“Growing up has changed my life because when I was a kid and even somewhere in high school, I still had grudges in me, and some people have wronged me, and I was like, when I grow up, I will show them.

“But then I grew up and I found out showing them isn’t something I really wanted to do because I have responsibilities. And I have clarity of my direction and where I want to take my life to,” he explained.
