Selina Boateng Says Being Divorced Doesn’t Cancel Her Calling As A Gospel Artiste

0

Gospel singer Selina Boateng has a message for those who rush to judge. According to her, a failed marriage does not strip a minister of their calling or disqualify them from serving God.

Selina, who has openly admitted to experiencing difficulties in her own marriage, said the growing tendency to criticize gospel musicians over divorce is unfair and spiritually misguided. For her, personal struggles at home should never be equated with failure in ministry.

“Divorce comes with a lot of issues but I can say boldly that it doesn’t affect our ministry because we are human beings working for God. We are not perfect. The focus is on making an impact on people’s lives,” she explained in an interview with Graphic Showbiz.

Selina argued that broken homes do not break divine purpose, stressing that the Bible does not support such harsh judgment.

“There is no way Gospel musicians cannot minister to people just because they have a broken home. So are they telling me all those who have failed marriages are not going to heaven? It’s not in the Bible that when your marriage ends, you won’t make heaven.”

She further condemned society’s tendency to mock instead of support people going through painful separations.

“No one has the right to judge. Even the Bible frowns on that so why judge people when they are going through a marriage crisis? You don’t know what triggered the problems they are going through. Divorce is often beyond an individual’s control and can have devastating, emotional and psychological effects, yet society chooses to mock and criticise instead of being supportive,” she added.

The Ghanaian gospel singer said what gospel musicians need during such times is not ridicule but prayer and encouragement.

“It’s rather unfortunate this generation doesn’t know how to support a brother or sister who is not in a good place. You see, society does not have to bash somebody because it presumes the person is a sinner. Are you trying to draw him closer to God or are you pushing that person away? Pray for the one so that God will strengthen the person,” she urged.

Selina Boateng concluded that her endurance in ministry is by God’s grace, adding that her mission has always been about touching lives through music rather than chasing validation or recognition.

MzGee Breaks Silence On The Prophecy That Forced Her Out Of TV3

0

MzGee insists she is no troublemaker, nor did she leave TV3 because of envy or internal disputes. The Ghanaian media personality revealed that her exit from the station was driven by something far more unsettling: a prophecy that left her fearing for her life.

In a social media video, the broadcaster, born Gloria Akpene Nyarku, said she chose to walk away after hearing a prophecy that a television host would collapse and die while presenting a reality show.

“I resigned from TV3 because of a prophecy. And that prophecy said, ‘I see someone on television, hosting a reality show, and that person will fall and die.’ After receiving this prophecy, I decided to step down,” MzGee explained.

Though the prophecy was not delivered directly to her, she admitted it disturbed her deeply, especially because she was hosting Mentor at the time, a program that fit the prophecy’s description.

“For those of you who wondered why I resigned and even labeled me a troublemaker, the truth is I didn’t know where the death mentioned in the prophecy was going to come from. But the prophecy clearly said it would happen on a reality show. And if you know my career, you know I used to host Mentor and we were getting close to that time of the year,” she said.

MzGee added that the prophecy wasn’t her only warning sign. She described recurring dreams about death that convinced her the danger was real.

“Would I have ignored this prophecy, even though the man of God didn’t specifically say I should resign? Should I have gone ahead, stood on that stage, presented, and then fallen to my death? When I received the prophecy, my dreams were already warning me that something was wrong. That’s why I’m doing this video to say that yes, there are prophecies, but sometimes your own spirit also alerts you. Sometimes you even see it in your dreams. I kept dreaming of death over and over again,” she revealed.

She recalled how the visions became overwhelming, describing how she constantly felt death surrounding her.

“At one point, I kept asking myself is it that I’m seeing myself among people I already know who have died? Or is it because others kept saying they had seen me dead? The truth is, death was haunting me, that’s how serious it became. And then came this prophecy. I told myself, this man of God has touched on something real. He didn’t tell me to resign, but I chose to,” MzGee said.

Responding to critics who claimed her departure was out of jealousy, she argued that explaining her true reason back then would only have invited ridicule.

“So let me address those who claimed I resigned because I was jealous of a colleague. How could I have told anyone back then that I had received a prophecy and resigned because of it? People would have said, ‘This girl isn’t serious; she believes in prophets.’ And when nothing happened, the same people would mock me for believing. Yet, if it did happen, those same people would turn around and say, ‘She was warned, but she didn’t act on it,’” the media personality stated.

Lil Win Criticizes Ghanaian Media for Lack Of Support For New Movie

0

Lilwin has voiced his disappointment with Ghanaian media houses for what he describes as a lack of support and coverage for his new movie, “Captain Ibrahim Traoré: The Last African Hero.”

The actor expressed his concerns in a video where he stood beside his customized 2024 GH¢1.2 million RAM 1500 truck adorned with movie stickers.

Lil Win’s frustration stems from the media’s apparent silence following the movie’s second premiere in Sunyani at the Eusbett Hotel Cinema on August 16, 2025.

He claims that despite his efforts to check various entertainment-focused television channels between August 22 and 24, 2025, none of them were discussing his film.

This lack of promotion comes as a huge blow to the actor, who feels the media is ignoring a significant achievement in the Ghanaian film industry.

Lil Win highlighted that his movie has received international recognition, including multiple nominations abroad.

This is not the first time the film has received international praise; it has also been reported that the Burkina Faso Ambassador to Ghana honored Lil Win as the “Best Actor in Africa” during the movie’s premiere in Kumasi.

The film, which chronicles the life of Burkina Faso’s revolutionary leader, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, has been praised for its Pan-African theme and cultural significance.

Lil Win feels that these achievements should be celebrated by Ghanaian media, but they are instead being overlooked.

Okyeame Kwame Advises Car Buyers To Verify Vehicle History Amid Shatta Wale’s Lamborghini Saga

Okyeame Kwame has commented on the storm surrounding Shatta Wale’s Lamborghini saga, saying the incident should be a wake-up call to car owners and buyers in the country.

During a discussion on the Fakye Showbiz program, the popular rapper stressed that the situation highlights how easily anyone could find themselves entangled in similar legal troubles.

According to him, many people in Ghana purchase vehicles without verifying their background, something he admitted he has also done in the past. The controversy, he said, has forced him to rethink his approach.

“We all buy cars from the streets, especially if it is not from the showroom. So this can happen to everyone. I have taken advice on this issue. From henceforth, if I buy a car, I will make sure to go check the history to see if it is a stolen car or not.

Because I have bought a lot of cars from the street without checking their history, so from henceforth I will do so when I buy a car,” he stated.

My Family Was Scared The Most – Cina Soul On Big Akwes’ Threats

Cina Soul has opened up about the toll of repeated verbal attacks from actor Big Akwes, saying the experience left scars that went far beyond her career.

During an interview with Doreen Avio on Hitz FM, the Ghanaian soulful vocalist explained that while her artistry remained unaffected, the abuse weighed heavily on her personal life. She revealed that prayer became her main refuge in coping with the trauma.

“I don’t think it affected as an artiste, it affected me as a person, a woman, someone’s child and a Christian. The number 1 thing I had to do was to pray,” she said.

What unsettled her the most, however, was the impact of Akwes’ choice of words on her family.

“Because it had not been the first time, it was the second time seeing that, the words and the gravity of the description was scary and I think it scared my family even more,” Cina Soul added.

The controversy first flared in April 2025, when Big Akwes lashed out at Cina Soul over costumes she wore in a dance promo for her album Did I Lie? He dismissed her appearance as “attention-seeking” and body-shamed her on air, sparking a public backlash.

Although Max TV later apologized to the singer, Akwes refused to retract his words, instead urging viewers to “re-analyse” what he said.

The attacks resurfaced months later in July 2025 during a live broadcast, when he issued fresh insults laced with violent threats. Netizens quickly condemned the remarks as disturbing and dangerous.

During a “Kiss, Marry and Kill” game, Akwes declared that he would marry actress Vivian Jill and “kill Cina Soul.” He went further, giving a chilling account of how he would allegedly summon her with a magic mirror, stab her repeatedly, and drink her blood.

Feared and unhappy about Akwes’ words, Cina Soul turned to social media, tagging the Ghana Police Service and the Ministry of Communications to demand action. She stressed that the threats now felt real and that she was genuinely afraid for her safety.

Dancegod Lloyd Goes Deep Into Why He Sometimes Rejects Songs For Dance Challenges

0

Award-winning Ghanaian dancer and choreographer who performs under the stage name Dancegod Lloyd has shed light on how he chooses songs for viral dance challenges, disclosing that he often turns down numerous requests from artists.

Speaking on the Top Secret segment of NF Studio, the creative genius behind King Promise’s viral “Terminator” dance said he is highly intentional about the music he works with.

According to Lloyd, his decisions are strongly influenced by the responsibility he feels toward the young audience that looks up to him.

“I have rejected a lot of songs. A lot of kids look up to me, so if the content of the song does not make sense, like with the lyrics, if they are too profane, I won’t do it,” he explained.

He added that beyond lyrical content, he also considers whether the rhythm naturally lends itself to choreography.

“Even when a song has acceptable content, the process of creating a trend doesn’t always flow. Sometimes I struggle to match dance steps to the rhythm, and if it doesn’t feel right, I don’t force it,” Lloyd admitted.
