In a message shared via his social platforms, Akwaboah highlighted the subtle ways envy manifests online, especially among peers. He lamented that while many people scroll past celebratory posts or achievements from their own friends, they seem far more eager to engage with negative content.

The ‘Matters of the Heart’ composer stated that social media has become a space where support is selective and often overshadowed by silent competition or resentment.

Akwaboah’s observation reminds us about how public platforms, which once promised community and connection, can sometimes become mirrors reflecting envy more than encouragement.

Stop Judging Yaa Jackson By Her Stage Outfits – Jackson K. Bentum To Critics

Veteran Ghanaian filmmaker, Jackson K. Bentum, has commented on the public backlash targeting his daughter, Yaa Jackson, for her fashion choices.

During an interview with Emelia Brobbey, Mr Bentum addressed the growing criticism and offered a defence of his daughter.

He argued that Yaa Jackson, now an adult and a thriving music artiste, has every right to express herself through her wardrobe. He believes the outrage over her style stems from a lack of understanding about the entertainment business.

“Because I am in the entertainment industry, I perfectly understand what is going on. I know most people don’t understand what is going on because they are not in the entertainment industry,” Bentum explained.

He pointed out that Yaa’s outfit choices are directly tied to her role in the secular music scene and that it would be unrealistic to expect her to dress conservatively for such a career.

“Moreover, she doesn’t sing gospel songs and she can’t wear ‘kaba’ to shoot a music video. So, people should understand her. She is a shy person and I was surprised when I got to hear she is now singing,” he said.

Bentum also addressed the misconception that Yaa’s social media appearances reflect her day-to-day lifestyle. He clarified that many of her outfits seen online are worn for commercial purposes.

“Sometimes I hear people complain about the type of dress she wears. From what I know, the outfits are purposely for advertisement and that isn’t who she is,” he said.

“But if you see her wearing those dresses in town, that is when you can call and tell me she is badly dressed. Apart from that, I don’t see anything wrong with her dress,” Yaa Jackson’s father further stated.

A United Front Against Job Fraud and Human Trafficking: QNET And EOCO Announce Collaboration To Combat Organised Crime In Ghana

0

In a powerful move to combat fraudulent activities and protect vulnerable individuals from exploitation, QNET and Ghana’s Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) have joined forces in a formal collaboration. This strategic partnership, anchored in a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), is a unified response to the alarming rise in scams, illegal migration schemes, and human trafficking operations. It underscores a shared determination to protect the public and hold accountable the criminal networks responsible.

Joining Forces to Protect the Public
This collaboration reflects the shared concern of both EOCO and QNET over the deceptive practices of criminal syndicates who use fake job offers, scholarship scams, and false promises of international opportunities to exploit Ghanaians and other West Africans. These scams often misuse the names of legitimate international companies to lend credibility to their operations and deceive unsuspecting victims.

“EOCO and QNET have signed an MOU to collaborate to identify and dismantle these criminal networks. We appreciate QNET’s proactive stance and willingness to collaborate with law enforcement agencies to protect the public as well as their brand,” said Raymond Archer, Acting Executive Director of EOCO. “This partnership is a significant step towards combating organised and cross-border crime in Ghana. Through this partnership QNET and EOCO are seeking to leverage our expertise and resources to disrupt and dismantle these criminal networks, protect our citizens and maintain the integrity of our economy.”

Gospel singer Cee has opened up about her decision to walk away from her marriage, setting the record straight on a subject that’s often wrapped in spiritual justification. While some gospel artists have claimed divine instruction as the reason for leaving their spouses, Cee says her choice was grounded in personal survival, not prophecy.

“I was married to a pastor, but I left because of certain issues and circumstances that I could not stand. He is aware of those issues. God did not tell me to leave my husband; I left because I could no longer take certain things,” she revealed.

Her candid reflection challenges the narrative that God always orchestrates such breakups, pointing instead to real-world struggles that become intolerable over time.

Addressing the broader trend of gospel musicians marrying pastors, Cee explained that many make that choice believing that men of God will better understand and support their spiritual calling. It’s a belief rooted in the idea of shared purpose and ministerial alignment.

However, the gospel singer confessed with a touch of irony that she once vowed never to marry a pastor. “I rejected a number of them,” she said, only to eventually say “yes” to one.
