Renowned Ghanaian media personality, Oheneyere Gifty Anti, has shared her emotional and physical journey with infertility, revealing the years of challenges she faced before finally welcoming her daughter.

Speaking on Family Forum Africa, Gifty Anti recounted being diagnosed with complications in her fallopian tubes, which made natural conception nearly impossible.

“They had to flush my tubes, and it was one of the most painful procedures I had ever gone through,” she disclosed.

Determined to conceive, she underwent in vitro fertilization (IVF) four times—both in Ghana and abroad—only to face disappointment each time.

“The doctors told me, ‘We don’t think it will happen,’” she recalled.

Feeling devastated, she resigned herself to the possibility of never carrying a child and considered surrogacy or adoption as alternatives.

Even after marriage, she made sure her husband was fully aware of her condition.

“I told him straight, ‘I may never carry a child.’ But he stood by me and encouraged me to have faith,” she said.

A turning point came when she underwent surgery for an unrelated health issue. To her surprise, doctors discovered that her womb was in good condition.

“The doctor told me, ‘You can carry a child. Let’s try one more time.’ I wasn’t ready, but his confidence made me rethink.”

With renewed hope, she embarked on her final IVF attempt, which felt different from the previous ones.

“I had my husband by my side, praying with me. The doctors encouraged me. There was so much faith involved this time.”

At last, after years of heartbreak, Gifty Anti conceived and carried her baby to term.

“At an age where many think it’s too late, I had my miracle,” she expressed with gratitude.

Her story serves as an inspiration to many women struggling with infertility, proving that with faith, perseverance, and medical support,
