10 New Ghanaian Musicians Giving The Top Artistes Tough Competition In The Game

11
Mr. Eazi & Fancy Gadam

Gone are the days when Ghanaians had to enjoy songs from only the big boys in the game like Sarkodie, Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy, R2bees, E.L, Efya, Becca, Ohemaa Mercy, Nacy, Obaapa Christy, Samini, VVIP, Daddy Lumba, Kojo Antwi, Fuse ODG and many others.

For a little over a year now, the music industry has been enjoying the sounds of some fresh guys who have been releasing good songs. These new musicians have won the heart of many Ghanaians with their songs and giving their seniors stiff competition. These fresh bloods release songs and people rush for their copies like they have been in the industry for years.

Join Zionfelix.net as we take a stroll to see these new young ones making magic in the music industry.

Ebony

Priscilla Opoku-Kwarteng needs no introduction because she has become a household name now. Ebony releases a song and you hear everybody talking about it minutes after it’s out. Many have tipped her to be in the 2018 VGMAS artiste of the year category judging from her works in the year 2017. Ebony is currently reigning the female music scene in Ghana. She do all!!!

Fancy Gadam

Even before winning the hearts of many Ghanaians, he was god of the Northern music. This young chap has been making wonders at his self-organized concerts. You cannnot organize an event at his territory without him – try it and you will be disgraced.

King Promise

Put King Promise on your song and you are assured of a hit single. He never disappoints when he is on the hook. Just listen to his songs or the ones he has featured on and you would understand what I’m saying about the ‘Oh Yeah’ hitmaker.

Kidi

After winning hitmaker, he went silent for a while and revamped with a great song, Say You Love me. This song was not an instant hit but gradually grew to ink his name in the best emerging musicians in the country. He has ‘Odo’ out and people are going made over it. Kidi is no just a singer, he writes and produces as well – that is a talent right there.

Kuame Eugene

This guy signed on Lynx Entertainment is an epitome of talent. He writes, sings, and produces music. Not just that, he is also a great performer who will never bore you whenever he is on stage. Almost all his songs are enjoying massive airplay. His recently released single, Angela is all over the country. Don’t forget that he made triumphant entry after featuring on his label mate, MzVee’s ‘Rewind’ single, a tune he wrote and produced.

Feli Nuna

Aside Ebony, Feli is also giving the big girls pressure. She’s constantly releasing materials just to prove a point. The Beehyve entertainment signee for the past months has tried to paint her name on the walls of many houses in the country.

Kurl Songx

All hail the Krobo man. It got to a time the only song you would hear on radio and phones was ‘Jennifer Lomotey’ recorded by Kurl Songx and Sarkodie. This guy came to takeover the airwaves with his first single after winning MTN hitmaker reality show. Just when he was losing the attention, he followed it up with ‘Whistle’ which again features Obidi. That song is not doing bad at all, it is also gaining airplay but not like the controversial ‘Jennifer Lomotey’.

Kwadwo Nkansah LilWin

LilWin is not a professional musician but he is worrying the big guys. He has been topping chats with most of his songs making some of the big boys wonder how he has been making it big. This guy is just genius.

Mr. Eazi

A lot need not to be said about this Naija man who has been representing us all over the world. His works are visible enough to prove that he is above most of the top musicians in the country. Life is indeed easy for 26-year-old Oluwatosin Oluwole Ajibade

Medikal

This rapper has been ‘poofing’ up ever since he had his first hit song, ‘Connect’. It is not easy to remain relevant in the Ghanaian music industry with rap songs especially when Afropop is reining at the moment but this guy is making his way through. He is worrying most of the big guys but does he care?

Fans of Sarkodie did not see the music video for their collaborated song when the 19-track album was released even though the rapper gave them six videos to enjoy.

Michael has heard the cry of his fans who have been asking for the video of the ‘Far Away’ song to be shot. The two renowned artistes are currently outside the continent working on the visuals for the song and we have a video for you to see how things are going on set.

NANA YOU DO ALL!! Actor Rahim Banda Lauds President For FREE SHS Policy

Patapaa’s One Corner: A Sustainable Breakthrough Template?

7

One of the common adages that has been frequently reechoed since time immemorial is that “there are so many ways of killing the cat.” Plainly, the adage enlightens that there are several avenues that could be adopted for achieving a goal or fulfilling an ambition.

Deducing from the spirit of this adage, one could posit that there are several ways of defeating the unsung status by making a breakthrough into the mainstream stretch of the Ghanaian music industry. There are a number of breakthrough templates that the artistes adopt.

Over the years, we’ve usually seen artistes making an ushering into the mainstream scene via being featured by existing mainstream artistes on tunes or being signed by established record labels to assist them in the breakthrough process, amongst others. Notable references could be made to Sarkodie on You Dey Craze, Joey B on Vera, et al as examples of the ‘aforedescribed’ templates. There is another breakthrough template which is executed in the form where, the artiste is apparently seen making an emergence unto the mainstream scene without the assistance of established widely-known record labels or media support.

The emergence is realized, courtesy a facilitation mainly by a commercially appetizing song originating from the streets. Such songs, usually perishable and disposable in nature rapidly spread across the length and breadth of the country like a wild inferno following their release. Examples of breakthroughs with these kind of songs include Article Wan-Solo, Wisa-Ekiki Me, Atom-Yɜ Wↄ Krom, amongst others. The latest subscriber to this breakthrough template is Swedru-based artiste, Patapaa Amisty with OneCorner.Emanating from the streets of Agona-Swedru, OneCorner has impressively made a dominance across the country. The Patapaa key to commercial success and relevance is a vigour-stimulating jam, albeit quasi-lyrically deficient, which is typical of songs which usually facilitate the breakthrough of artistes who subscribe to such a template. The song, which features Ras Cann and Mr. Loyalty is interspersed with some pseudo French lyrics, which renders it an interesting listen. The breakthrough via this template by Patapaa however bears some uniqueness. The uniqueness lies in the fact that the song is accompanied by a crazy dance which has apparently seen dozens of people ‘going bonkers.’Now, it can be confidently asserted that Patapaa Amisty has arrived. His adoption of this breakthrough template has been successful. What should be of much concern now is his ability to sustain the relevance in the music industry. The breakthrough is one success attained. And the sustainability of the relevance characterized by annual consistency is also another success to be attained. The latter is more difficult to be attained. It requires relentless hard work, smartness, engagement and networking with the competent persons in the industry, inter alia. Would Patapaa be able to sustain the relevance considering the current fate of most of the artistes who also subscribed to the breakthrough template Patapaa has adopted, and also considering the fact that One Corner patently lacks the character of timeless songs? Can he defy the threat of fading with the song and dance? As it is always said, time will give us the answer. In my capacity, I can primarily wish him the best in his endeavours. By Seth Mireku.

Chris Attoh Confirms He’s No More Married To Actress Damilola Adegbite

6

It is said that to every rumour, there’s a bit of truth.

Months back, reports surfaced suggesting that the marriage between Ghanaian actor Chris Attoh and Nigerian actress Damilola Adegbite had hit the rocks which the actor condemned as false reports.

However, there’s an update and the reports were actually true.

The actor in a recent interview with Nigerian news outfit BellaNaija revealed the two are no more although they remain best friends.

Speaking on how he and his ex-wife Damilola Adegbite balanced their marriage, son and work, the actor responded saying;

“I believe throughout our marriage, it was probably one of the most challenging things we ever did. However, the key word is balance. At times when we both had to work, our parents would be there to hold the fort. God bless family because they were and still are very supportive.

However, since the divorce, we are obviously now reworking things to create a new balance between work, spending time with and raising our son.

Dami is a wonderful woman and an amazing mother. Despite our differences, she and I will always be friends. So, more than anything we will find ways to continue to make sure that Brian can still have a balanced upbringing filled with love and support. Both our families have been and are still very supportive in helping us take care of our son Brian when we can’t be there due to work.”

Enough Of NPP Stars As Tourism Ambassadors, Appoint Social Media Influencers As Well

1

I just returned from a South Africa trip fully sponsored by Wines of South Africa just to taste wines made in the country. Aside driving through Cape Town to learn how wines are made, we had the chance to tour the city.

Myself with some influencers from around the world in South Africa

Whilst there, I posted about 80% of our activities on social media for the world to know what the country has been blessed with.

I’m not the only blogger or social media influencer who has been on this fully paid expenses trip to other countries just to tour the place and learn the culture of the people.

Francis Doku and Monte Oz in Zimbabwe

Ghanaian art writers Francis Doku and Monte Oz are currently in Zimbabwe touring the beautiful sites over there just for their followers to also know what the country has. Countries like the above ones I just mentioned, Kenya and many others spend on Ghanaian bloggers and social media influencers just to visit and sell their county to the outside world but nothing like that happens here in Ghana – maybe it’s been happening but I have not seen it.

For the past weeks, I’ve been writing and reading publications of the Tourism ministry appointing celebrities as ambassadors for the sector and most of these personalities are individuals who endorsed the ruling government ahead of the 2016 polls. I’ve no issue with the government’s decision to appoint these NPP stars to sell the country but I believe these Ghanaian social media influencers and bloggers other countries spend a lot on can also be useful to the tourism sector.

There are several online guys with huge following who can assist these celebrities to help the tourism sector with their platforms. Most social media influencers for the past years have used their platforms to sell products for companies and they never regretted contracting them. In recent times, most movie producers contract bloggers and social media influencers to promote their premieres and products and they also get value for money so why is the government not making use of these guys for the tourism sector?

Social media has become an important tool in the lives of many people and these bloggers/social media influencers together with celebrities can sell our tourist sites or culture so the ministry should not exempt them.

Imagine the changes a person with over 500,000 followers and over million impressions a week on social media will make by giving live updates of everything he sees whilst touring the country. Not just on social media, Ghanaian bloggers get million views on their blogs so sharing their experience from these tourists sites on their platforms will definitely paint a good picture of the country and convince people to also visit the place.

Please this is to whom it may concern, let’s employ the services of bloggers or social media influencers in promoting the tourist sites in the country because other countries are using them.

My name is Zionfelix, a blogger, on air personality and social media guru and I am ever ready to help.

We will make Africa dance to Electro Dance Music – Music Group Blackbusters

1

China-based duo, Blackbusters has promised to leave majority of Africans dancing to the wave of their Electro Dance Music.

The group, which is made up of MC Rhymes-Apple originally from Ghana, and DJ St3v3 from Ethiopia, first gained popularity in the middle of 2015, after founding and hosting a night party at Playhouse Night Club, one of Asia’s most famous nightclubs.’

“We know Afrobeats is now the big thing that is representing Africa everywhere but we believe the Electronic Dance Music has an even more potential to sell African artists, because it is an international genre of music that is being played in the clubs from Europe to Asia and America,” said MC Rhymes-Apple.

Electronic dance music (also known as EDM, dance music, club music, or simply dance) is a broad range of percussive electronic music genres made largely for nightclubs, raves, and festivals. EDM is generally produced for playback by disc jockeys; and Blackbusters continues to create seamless selections of mixes, appealing to a variety of international audience.

Like Blackbusters, most EDM producers also perform their music live in a concert or festival setting. It is the hope and dream of MC Rhymes-Apple and DJ St3v3 to bring their craft, which has travelled all over the world to the home countries in Africa and across the continent.

Although Electronic dance music is popular in some regions in Africa, particularly Southern Africa, it is yet to become a major fixture in the party and nightlife scene in majority of African countries. This forms part of the renewed mission of Blackbusters.

The duo, currently on tour, is set to take part in the Ferrari Indoor Music Festival as well as Budweiser Music Festival. They will also release two electro singles on two famous EDM record labels in the world in October.

Blackbusters will also be bringing their own record label to sign African artists. The Blackbusters Family record label kicks starts in 2018. Interested talents can contact Blackbusters at email blackbusters@qq.com. They will also release their Afro singles on the same record label.

1

Famous Nigerian music duo, PSqaure have split up years after news of their first explosive fight hit the internet and this is sadly 100% true!

Here’s what happened! Peter sparked speculation recently that all was not well with him and his twin brother/business partner – Paul after he referred to himself as Mr. P (his personal brand name). He also dropped cryptic messages on Instagram, one of it addressing how no one’s opinion should matter about something that makes you happy.Though no names were mentioned, Paul Okoye replied in a post via his own Instagram page, talking about how the birth of his twins was making someone jealous and restless. He accused the person of having sleepless nights, and also indirectly called out Peter’s wife Lola – saying; “Only a woman can come where there’s peace and destroy it. Try me this time, I swear Nyash go open. You will know that blood is thicker and stronger than juju.”LIB can now exclusively confirm that Peter has sent a termination letter to their lawyer Festus Keyamo (SAN), demanding for a termination of the agreement between Psquare. In the letter (which LIB has obtained), he defends his decision by making some serious allegations against his twin Paul and older brother/group manager Jude.According to Peter, Paul is no longer willing to co-operate with him, even going as far as cancelling their planned US tour this year without informing him, and he (Peter) has exhausted all options to make it work.He also accused Paul of slandering his wife and children with lies on social media, and alleged that they’ve now been receiving threatening messages.Peter further accused his older brother Jude of once threatening to kill him and shoot his wife Lola. This allegedly happened in the presence of Paul and former first lady of Cross River state Mrs Imoke. Jude allegedly also threatened to bring a coffin for him (Peter) if he ever comes near his house.Peter insists that he has had enough of the drama and wants out of the Psqaure group and contract. The singer who now refers to himself as Mr. P, stated that he loves his brothers and their families, and he wishes them the very best in their careers. However he cannot betray his wife and kids as they are very important to him. Source: lindaikejiblog
