NSMQ Brouhaha: We Used 16 Hours To Put Together New Play After Court Injunction – Organisers

5

Production Manager of Nyansapor Productions Limited, Francis Tetteh Nutakor has given the assurance that his outfit’s lawyers are working to resolve the impasse with Prime Time Limited over the use of the name ‘National Science and Maths Quiz’ for their recently aborted stage play.

Prime Time Limited organizers of the annual Science and Maths Quiz secured an interim injunction on Friday restraining Nyasapor Productions from proceeding with the stage play on Saturday the 8th of July, dubbed ‘National Science and Maths Quiz’. Per the release on the Facebook page of Prime Time Limited, the much advertised comedy show, will only ridicule and mimic some participants in the just ended contest.

According to Mr. Nutakor who spoke to Zionfelix on Radio Univers, his company received the notice of the injunction only hours to the show and was left with no choice but to stage another show titled ‘The Ladder’.

‘The intended show we were supposed to run on the day was hit with an injunction. By the grace of God, quickly within 16 hours, we had to put together another play for our audience so that we don’t disappoint them’, he said.

Speaking on Radio Univers’ Brunch2Lunch, Mr. Nutakor asserted that the refusal of his company to change the name of the play could not be attributed to a lack of creativity. He stressed that the content of the play is yet to be known by the public hence it is will too quick to judge just by its title.

When asked whether the script was presented to Primetime Limited, he refused to speak further on the issue but reassured the public that their lawyers are working on the case.
