VGMA BRIBERY SCANDAL: MUSIGA to sanction George Quaye, Gospel acts

6

President of the Musician Union of Ghana (MUSIGA), Bice Osei Kuffour popularly known as Obour has said the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards bribery allegations will be investigated.

He stated that the bribery claims by the spokesperson of the award scheme, George Quaye is a serious indictment on the MUSIGA hence the institution cannot allow it to be swept under the carpet.

Speaking to host of Kasapa Entertainment on Kasapa 102.5FM, Kojo Preko Dankwa, Obour disclosed that after the investigations are done, any culprit found culpable of the bribery allegations will consequently be sanctioned accordingly by the association.

He therefore described George Quaye’s bribery comment as unfortunate and unlikely since the credibility of the Board members, institutions who partnered the scheme and organisers of the biggest, most anticipated, most patronised and most significant entertainment event on the Ghanaian Social calendar is as stake.

“These allegations need to be substantiated to know the truth and if it’s true that some Musicians are found guilty in that regard then the best sanction will be meted out to them. If George Quaye can’t provide the evidence then he will also face sanctions.”

George Quaye, head of Communications for Charter House, the organizers of Ghana Music Awards was reported to have said on the popular Entertainment Television show, ‘Pundits’ that the most offers of bribe that come to him as an Executive of the VGMA scheme are from gospel artists.

Days after the alleged bribery scandal went viral, Quaye took a u-turn to apologise. He added that his motive for expressing regret for his derogatory comments was because he wasn’t ready to mention those artistes involve in the scandalous acts.

VGMA Bribery Scandal: Sack George Quaye Now – Kojo Preko Dankwa

1

Kasapa Fm’s Entertainment Show host, Kojo Preko Dankwa has expressed worry over an allegation of bribery involving the Public Relations Officer of Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA), George Quaye and called for the latter’s sack with immediate effect.

According to him, the PRO’s comment on gospel artists giving bribe to be favoured to win awards is derogatory and undermines the credibility of the scheme.

Speaking on the most listened to Showbiz Show, Kasapa Entertainment, Saturday, Preko said he was dismayed by the fact that the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA), Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts Ministry and other music institutions who are in partnership with VGMA have all kept quiet over the allegation.

He noted that the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards is the biggest, most anticipated and most patronised Entertainment event on the Ghanaian Social calendar so demand an appropriate sanction for the spokeperson of the award.

“I’m shocked Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA), Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts Ministry, entertainment critics and bloggers are quite about this disrespect and I will be surprised if he is not sacked from his work.”

Not Wearing Undies Has Brought Me More Fame Than Music – Wanluv

1

Ghanaian musician Wanluv the Kubolor has disclosed his aversion to wearing underpants has made him more popular, particularly among his female fans, than his music ever has.

The Kokonsa hitmaker disclosed this to Bismark Boachie, also known as DJ Premier, on Entertainment Capital on Accra100.5FM on Saturday, January 28.

Asked why he appeared more popular than his music, Kubolor said: “Ghanaians are reserved. Most people are not outspoken so when we see someone very vocal and outspoken the person gives us inspiration. And I’m someone who is outspoken and speaks his mind so people like that thing about me.

“Apart from that too, I don’t wear underpants and that is why girls like me. Some girls want it (sex) fast so when they know you don’t wear underpants it means you won’t waste any time [taking your clothes off for sex],” he jested.

Wanluv Kubolor is arguably the most revolutionary artiste in Ghana, credited with creating a unique sound that pushes the borders of Afro-Pop.

Moesha Boduong Stands By Claim That Men Are ‘Born Cheats’

5

Moesha Boduong has replied critics who are slamming her for advising her female counterparts to turn a blind eye to their partners’ cheating habits.

The actress and socialite defended her statement which many have described as very irresponsible and a clear permission for men to cheat on their female counterparts.

“People are saying I’m promoting cheating amongst guys. No, I am not, but you [ladies] should stop been hypocrites by saying I should advise men to stop cheating. Lol.. Like they will [listen]. My sisters, they will not stop; so if you will leave your boyfriend or husband because of that, please remember the next boyfriend and husband will cheat and you the woman will marry and date again and again,” she said in her Instagram post.

She discouraged women from hasting to jilt their partners over cheating, warning that, if a woman keeps jilting and dating again and again, they are the ones society deem as changing men hence the “cheats”.

“…Before you date or marry, be positive and don’t listen to any rumours or lies about your partner, unless his actions and attitude at home changes towards you. Then maybe he is not more in love with you. That is when you can leave. But if he is still nice and is always there for you, please stay,” she advised.
