Ghanaian musician Shatta Wale had a lot to say about Stonebwoy during his recent appearance on Glitch Africa’s Rants, Bants and Confessions.

The show’s hosts, Efia Odo, Ama Burland, and Gisela, held Shatta Wale to an extensive chat on some of his biggest career highlights.

He recounted how the long-existing rivalry between him and Stonebwoy began.

The rivalry has led to some ugly showbiz moments, including the gun-drawing incident at the Ghana Music Awards, which led to them being banned by the scheme.

Expressing his thoughts on the rivalry, Shatta Wale maintained that Stonebwoy was not on his pedestal. Shatta Wale established Stonebwoy had an unhealthy obsession with international gigs, causing the Jejereje hitmaker to sell himself cheaply to showrunners abroad.

He shared some derogatory remarks about Stonebwoy, saying, “Those festivals Stonebwoy perform at pay five to seven thousand USD. I know. I won’t go there. Then you come and impress Ghanaians that you went to perform for a white crowd. Now it’s BurnaBoy, Davido and Wizkid’s time.”

Ghanaian actor Kwadwo Nkansah, popularly known as LilWin, recently critiqued Roman Fada, the Vice Presidential candidate under the late Akua Donkor’s Freedom Party (GFP), questioning his ability to lead in her absence.

In a widely circulated video, LilWin raised doubts about Roman Fada’s campaign prospects following Akua Donkor’s passing, suggesting her family may not fund his candidacy.

“We all know that Akua Donkor chose Roman Fada as her running mate,” he remarked, “but my concern is whether her family will provide him with the money she used for her nomination or if he will have to use his own.”

The actor went on to question whether Roman Fada could continue without significant financial backing, predicting he might withdraw from the race altogether.

“Given the current situation, I doubt Roman Fada will have enough funds to campaign effectively. So, winning the elections seems unlikely for him,” he stated, laughing.

LilWin also offered his condolences to Akua Donkor’s family, acknowledging her impact on Ghanaian politics.

“I want to send my sincere condolences to the family of the late Akua Donkor. They have lost a great woman. It’s an election year, and those who intended to vote for her will now have to look elsewhere. May her soul rest in peace,” he concluded.

Church girls now resorting to ‘hookup’ to survive – Broda Sammy

0

Ghanaian gospel musician Broda Sammy has raised concerns about the financial difficulties faced by young women in church communities, suggesting that some are turning to “hookup” culture as a means of income.

Speaking on United, Broda Sammy urged churches to take a more proactive role in supporting struggling members, cautioning that failing to provide aid could lead to significant repercussions within the church community.

During his interview, Broda Sammy remarked, “Some female church members are now engaged in hookups; there is no money.”

He criticised churches that, while encouraging donations, often do not utilise their substantial financial resources to relieve their congregants’ burdens.

Instead, he highlighted that these funds could be channelled towards offering real support to those in need.

He also noted that some congregations have existed for over fifty years and own properties that reduce their operational costs, eliminating rent and large overheads.

According to him, this financial stability should enable these churches to provide more meaningful assistance. He pointed out, “Some churches have been in existence for more than 50 years.

They do not have many expenses because they own most of their property.

Some of their members have been selling tomatoes at the markets for years and have been consistently giving their little 1 cedi as offering but are not getting any help.”

Broda Sammy went on to warn that a lack of change in approach could lead to declining church attendance, urging churches to rethink their strategies for community engagement and soul-winning, placing more focus on members’ welfare.

He cautioned, “One day, there will be nobody to attend.”

Bishop Elisha Salifu Amoako, General Overseer of Alive Chapel International, and his wife, Mouha Amoako, have appealed to the court to issue an order instructing the Ghana Police, media outlets, and the general public to refrain from sharing images of their son, Erald.

The couple made this request during a court appearance, citing concerns over the privacy and emotional well-being of their underage son, who remains in recovery after a severe accident.

The court appearance marks the second time Bishop Salifu, his wife, and their sales assistant, Linda Owusu-Bempah, have appeared concerning charges of allowing an unlicensed driver to operate a vehicle.

Their son, Erald, was involved in an accident in East Legon that tragically led to the deaths of two teenagers.

Erald’s current health condition has also been addressed in recent medical updates. A report from the University of Ghana Medical Centre reveals that he is still unfit to attend court or undergo police interrogation due to injuries sustained in the crash.

Erald suffered from ankle dislocations, ligament tears, and lacerations and was discharged from the hospital on October 28.

Medical professionals have advised him to keep weight off his right leg while he continues outpatient treatment.

The Amoakos are seeking the court’s support in preserving their son’s privacy during his recovery, urging all parties involved to respect their request amid the ongoing legal proceedings.
