In the early house of Thursday, May 23, 2024, it emerged that popular Ghanaian actress and entrepreneur, Precious Fella Makafui was arrested for selling unregistered drugs from her shop in Mempeasem.
According to the reports, investigative reporter Akwasi Koranteng, representing ISPYGH 247—an investigative documentary filmmaking firm in partnership with the Pharmacy Council Ghana caused the arrest on May 22, 2024.
Veteran Ghanaian actor, Fred Amugi, has talked about what is hindering the growth of the movie industry.
He cited the power struggle at the Actors Guild of Ghana as a huge challenge.
Since there has been no effective leadership functioning after the death of Reverend Eddie Coffie, who was the President of the guild, in 2016, Mr Amugi said things have not been the same.
Lamenting the Guild’s inability to elect a new leader, he prayed issues would be settled.
“The film industry is like any other business. It has its ups and downs. However, for the past few years, it’s been having issues of power struggles and conflicts, especially within the Ghana Actors Guild.
“This has led to a decline in productivity and quality because what’s being produced is not checked. We’re lucky to have Akwaaba Magic on DStv, which has provided a platform for our films. They’ve been supportive and willing to work with us, and the films they show are good. If we keep making good films, we’ll benefit from their support.
“Unfortunately, Nigeria’s film industry is ahead of ours. They have more opportunities with subscription-based streaming services such as Netflix, and we need to work together to catch up,” he told Graphic Showbiz.

He also raised a concern about the lack of collaboration in the industry.
“The film industry in Ghana needs unity. Currently, everyone is working alone because they’re afraid of being copied. The truth, however, is that no matter how much we know, someone else always knows more. If we work together in unity, we could make great films that showcase our different talents and perspectives.
“If we are united, we could even gain enough recognition in prestigious awards such as the Africa Magic Viewer’s Choice Awards (AMVCA),” Fred Amugi stated.
Ghanaian actress and entrepreneur, Fella Makafui, has decided to step back from social media, citing the stress and grief stemming from her husband Medikal’s recent and highly publicized separation.
The break comes in response to the wave of insults and condemnations she has received from online users who support her estranged husband’s allegations.
Before making this decision, Fella expressed hope that time would ultimately vindicate her.
She took to Instagram to announce her temporary departure, sharing a brief message with her followers: “Logging out, back soon.”
Despite the hiatus, she assured her fans that she would return for the premiere of her new film in Kumasi next month.

It further states that Fella Makafui was apprehended for unlawful activities related to the sale of unregistered drugs.

Socialite Rosemond Brown, popularly known as Akuapem Poloo, has admitted that the nak3d photo she took with her son is haunting her.
In June 2020, Poloo shared nu.de photos taken with her then-seven-year-old son when celebrating his birthday.
Her action caused her arrest and she was subsequently jailed before being granted bail.
Speaking in a recent interview with Nana Romeo, Akuapem Poloo said she had regretted what she did.
She stated that it is the only regret she has ever had in her life.
According to the socialite, her son has started asking questions as he is growing up.
Akuapem Poloo prayed her son would be able to get the strength to forgive her in the future.

Akuapem Poloo has finally confessed about what really happened between Theo Vesachi and her recently.
Some months ago, a video of Poloo breaking the windscreen of Vesachi’s car surfaced online.
In a new interview with Nana Romeo on Accra FM which Zionfelix.net monitored, Akuapem Poloo revealed the incident was planned.
