Daddy Lumba’s Sister Dismisses Injunction Claims Over Celebration Of Life Event In Accra

0

As speculation swirled online about the fate of the planned Celebration of Life for Highlife legend Charles Kwadwo Fosuh, widely known as Daddy Lumba, his elder sister has set the record straight.

In a statement dated February 15, 2026, Ernestina Fosuh dismissed claims circulating on social media that the memorial event in Accra had been halted by a court injunction. According to her, those reports are entirely unfounded.

She stated that suggestions by some commentators and comedians that legal action had stopped the programme were false. The family, she said, remains fully committed to honouring the late musician as scheduled.

“The Celebration of Life of Daddy Lumba will proceed as planned,” she affirmed.

Apart from the controversy over the event itself, Fosuh addressed what she described as an even more painful allegation, that she had declined an opportunity to see her brother after his passing.

She rejected the claim as untrue and deeply distressing.

Fosuh disclosed that she personally went to the Transition Funeral Home at Haatso, accompanied by her lawyer and four others, in an attempt to see her brother’s body. She said they were turned away.

According to her, the funeral home manager informed them that instructions had been given by the Abusuapanyin not to grant her access.

The emotional toll of that experience, she indicated, has been overwhelming. She explained that she sought legal recourse at the High Court in Accra in hopes of being allowed a final moment with her brother. Although an injunction was initially granted, she said it was revoked within an hour and a half. The court, she added, required a payment of GHS 2 million within two hours before close of business that Friday.

“That dark Friday remains one of the most painful days of my life. Justice, as I understood it, was not served,” she said.

Fosuh admitted that the ordeal has left her grieving not only the loss of her only brother, but also the lost opportunity to bid him farewell. She noted that she had spoken to him just two days before his sudden death.

Despite the emotional strain, she maintained that the family is determined to honour Daddy Lumba’s legacy in a fitting manner.

The Celebration of Life is scheduled for March 28 and 29, 2026, in Accra. Fosuh said she will join her uncle, Yaw Opoku, other family members, the widow Mrs. Akosua Serwah Fosuh, and close associates of the late musician to organise what she described as a grand and dignified tribute.

She stressed that no rumour, intimidation or misinformation would derail plans to celebrate a man whose Highlife catalogue shaped Ghana’s music landscape for decades.

The family also announced that Nana Yaw Akosah, popularly known as Papa Shee, has been granted full power of attorney to coordinate arrangements in Ghana. With several family members residing in Germany and elsewhere, he has been authorised to manage matters related to the event on their behalf.

In her closing remarks, Fosuh appealed for restraint on social media, urging supporters to avoid insults and abusive language directed at any party.

“I have personally endured insults that no grieving sister should ever have to face,” she said, adding that many of those attacking her online are young enough to be her children. “In our culture, we do not insult our elders, especially those who are mourning.”

She called for disputes to be resolved through the courts rather than through online hostility, noting that German authorities have already recognised Mrs. Akosua Serwah Fosuh as the lawful wife.

“I am already in deep pain. Please spare us further anguish,” she pleaded.

Ernestina Fosuh concluded by expressing gratitude to those who have shown genuine support during what she described as one of the most difficult periods of her life, asking for blessings upon all who have stood by the family.

President Mahama gives me money every month – BullGod reveals

0

Artist manager Lawrence Nana Asiamah Hanson, popularly known as BullGod, has disclosed that his life has been more comfortable since the return of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to power a year ago.

Speaking in an interview with Kwame Dadzie on Joy FM’s Showbiz A–Z, BullGod commended President John Dramani Mahama for what he described as effective leadership and steady governance.

According to him, he is currently receiving monthly financial support directly from the President.

“I am on a payroll with His Excellency John Dramani Mahama. Since he started working, every month I go for money from his salary. So when they pay him, then he pays me,” he stated during the interview.

BullGod explained that there was a brief interruption in the arrangement when President Mahama reportedly dedicated his salary to the Mahama Care project. During that period, he said, he did not receive the stipend. However, he noted that the payments have since been regularised.

The outspoken entertainment executive was actively involved in campaigning for the National Democratic Congress during the 2024 general elections. He maintained that President Mahama and his appointees are working diligently to steer the country in the right direction.

Love was in the air at Kwabena Kwabena’s “Aso @ 20” celebration, but for King Promise, the conversation quickly turned to something deeper than romance.

While speaking to GhanaWeb’s Patience Adu at the Palms Convention, the award-winning singer made it clear that in his world, respect is not up for negotiation. For him, it is the foundation that holds any relationship together, and without it, nothing else matters.

“I don’t compromise on respect. I believe in respect over everything,” he said when asked to name his red flag in a relationship.

The moment was not only about personal values. King Promise also took time to show appreciation to Kwabena Kwabena for granting him permission to sample the timeless track “Aso” on his hit single “Favourite Story,” a collaboration that resonated strongly with fans.

“It’s Vals Day, we are celebrating love and I want to say thank you to Kwabena Kwabena for allowing me to sample the song. He’s a great man and needs to be celebrated.

“The fans, the turnout, the vibe — the vibe is crazy. You understand what I am saying. Shout out to everyone. The fans, keep supporting,” he added.

Shatta Wale is once again challenging the way Ghana’s showbiz industry operates, questioning why controversy appears to drive more conversations than commerce.

In a series of Facebook posts, the Shatta Movement boss was unhappy about the entertainment ecosystem fixated on gossip instead of growth. Rather than building structures that create wealth and long-term value, he argued that many within the space are preoccupied with scandals and personal drama.

“In the Ghanaian entertainment industry, they only talk about problems and not solutions. How can we be discussing sex tapes and whose bottos is big?… They sit and discuss past stories that won’t generate any income,” he wrote.

Shatta Wale maintained that while disputes and sensational headlines may attract attention, they rarely translate into sustainable earnings. He suggested that some personalities have spent years feeding off celebrity feuds without converting that spotlight into tangible financial progress. Reflecting on his own journey, he admitted that he once admired some of the figures he now critiques.

“I grew up watching some of these people, thinking they were living the stardom life until I realized myself, how they have wasted many years just doing konkonsa with zero benefits,” he added.

He also recalled the backlash he endured when he leaned heavily into Facebook Live sessions. Critics at the time dismissed him as merely a “social media artiste.” Now, he pointed out, many of those same voices have adopted live streaming and direct engagement as legitimate revenue streams.

“The world is changing and if care is not taken you will have yourself to blame. Stop wasting your time discussing people’s matters as entertainment topics and find ways to generate Revenue,” Shatta Wale further stated.

Sonnie Badu Advises Women To Marry A Man With Vision

Marriage, according to Sonnie Badu, should never be entered blindly. The US based Ghanaian gospel musician and pastor is urging women to scrutinize a man’s sense of direction before agreeing to walk down the aisle with him.

In a video shared on Instagram, he stressed that vision is not optional for a prospective husband. In his view, a man who lacks clarity about his purpose will inevitably stall the life of the woman who chooses to follow him.

“As a woman, pray that you find a husband with vision, and be careful how you follow. If you find a husband without vision, pray that he discovers his vision. Because as long as you follow him, God will hear him. So if he doesn’t have a vision, then he is delaying your life.

“I was doing wedding marriage counseling, and I told the husband, ‘Sir, do you have a purpose and a vision? If you don’t have a purpose and a vision, don’t marry. Because your wife must live her dream within your purpose and your vision,” he said.

Drawing from his experience in marriage counseling, Badu explained that a woman’s aspirations should complement the man’s calling. Where there is no shared direction, he believes the relationship is fundamentally misplaced.

He cautioned women whose ambitions clash with their partner’s purpose to reconsider the union altogether, insisting that compatibility goes beyond emotion.

“And if you are a wife and your dreams are not in alignment with his purpose and vision, then you are not his wife, you are somebody else’s. Then please, don’t waste your time. You’re not his rib; you are somebody else’s rib. You met out of emotions.

“You must find yourself in his gift. Find your expression in it. As long as God remains God, a woman can never lead. I’m telling you, it is biblical. But a woman can be the brain behind the man as he leads,” Sonnie Badu stressed.

Vlogger Clement Nana Asamoah, who broke the news on social media, disclosed that Efya’s groom is Nigerian singer Tomi Thomas.

Clips from the ceremony show a joyful atmosphere filled with music, dancing, and celebration.

Yaw Sarpong’s One-Week Observation Slated For February 19

The One-Week Observation for gospel legend Yaw Sarpong will take place on February 19, 2026, at Asuofua Park in Kumasi.

Yaw Sarpong’s death was confirmed by his manager, Nana Poku Ashis, on January 20, 2026, leaving the Asomafo family and the wider gospel community in deep mourning.

Fans of the group are still grieving the recent loss of Maame Tiwa, a long-serving member whose passing shook the group only weeks ago.

The ceremony will honour Yaw Sarpong’s life and legacy, celebrating his contributions to Ghanaian gospel music. As founder and leader of Yaw Sarpong and Asomafo, he shaped Akan gospel through a distinctive sound marked by theological clarity, disciplined vocals, and carefully arranged choral harmonies.

Court Reportedly Opens Door For Abusuapanin Kofi Owusu To Challenge Planned Second Funeral For Daddy Lumba

The family of late Highlife musician Daddy Lumba has secured permission from the Accra High Court to pursue legal action aimed at stopping a planned memorial event being organised outside the family’s arrangements.

The legal move is being spearheaded by family head Abusuapanin Kofi Owusu, who is seeking to halt a proposed “second funeral” being put together by Papa Shee, Akosua Serwaa and other associates.

Speaking during an interview with GhanaWeb journalist Isaac Dadzie on February 13, 2026, family lawyer Dominic Kwadwo Osei of Baba Jamal & Associates disclosed that the court had cleared the way for the family to formally submit an injunction request.

He explained that the legal team is preparing to move forward with the process in the coming days.

“The court granted us leave to file the necessary processes for an application for an injunction… There is an intent to file an application for an injunction. The reasons will be fully itemised in our application… next week,” he said.

The dispute follows an announcement by Papa Shee about a two-day Celebration of Life programme scheduled for March 28 and 29 to honour the late music legend.

That planned event comes months after the official funeral rites for Daddy Lumba were held on December 13, 2025, under the direction of the family head.

While confident about their case, the family’s legal team acknowledged that the final outcome rests with the judiciary.

“We will do everything in our power as lawyers to convince the court, but the final decision to grant or not to grant the injunction lies with the court,” Dominic Kwadwo Osei stated.

The trial of Ghanaian artiste and socialite Showboy has been delayed after he arrived late for his scheduled hearing at the Adenta Circuit Court on February 12, 2026.

According to a report shared by GHOne TV online, the court has ordered that Showboy remain in custody for an additional two weeks while investigations continue.

Showboy faces allegations of blackmail and defamation targeting entrepreneur and music executive Davido GH (David Mensah). Authorities say the case revolves around claims that he threatened to release sensitive information about Davido GH unless certain demands were met.

The situation first came to public attention in January 2026, when CID officers attempted to arrest Showboy at his residence. The confrontation, which circulated widely online, captured Showboy questioning the legality of the arrest and insisting, “I need to see a warrant,” before complying.

He was eventually taken into custody on February 4 and brought before the court, where a psychiatric evaluation was conducted. After being declared mentally fit, Showboy returned to police supervision and remains in custody as the legal process unfolds.
