A past prophecy by renowned Ghanaian preacher Prophet Roja regarding the 2026 FIFA World Cup has resurfaced on social media, triggering widespread debate among football fans and religious observers.
In a video from December 2025 that has recently gone viral, Prophet Roja, speaking during an interview on Nhyira FM, predicted that the 2026 World Cup could face serious disruptions due to what he described as a looming conflict in the United States.
According to the man of God, he had foreseen a major war that could potentially prevent the tournament from taking place.
“If the mercies of God do not locate Ghana and the world, the 2026 World Cup might not come on,” Prophet Roja stated during the interview.
He further added, “I am seeing a big war happening in America that may disrupt the World Cup.”
However, with the tournament currently underway across the United States, Canada and Mexico, and no such conflict having occurred, many social media users have revisited the prophecy and questioned its accuracy.
The resurfaced video has generated mixed reactions online. While some critics argue that the prediction has clearly failed given that the World Cup is proceeding as planned, others have defended the prophet, suggesting that prayers or divine intervention may have prevented the events he claimed to have foreseen.
The discussion has reignited broader conversations about prophecies related to major global events and the public scrutiny religious leaders often face when predictions do not materialise.
