Highlife Should Be Commercialized More – Ball J

Ghanaian sound engineer, Albert Serebo Ayeh-Hanson, popularly known as Ball J, thinks Highlife has not been commercialized enough.

Despite the acceptance that Highlife is a Ghanaian genre, he said more should be done to commercialize it.

He lamented the failure of commercializing it in a recent interview.

Ball J asserted that Highlife should be redefined or a new genre should be introduced.

“As for Ghana, we have our real identity as Highlife which is perfect but making the Highlife commercial is what we’ve failed. Because we have Highlife in Ghana that when you come into the country you’ll hear being played but how does it enter the Grammys.

“Before our Highlife goes to the Grammys we have to redefine it and say this is Highlife from Ghana or we have to bring a new genre,” he told Amansan Krakye on Cape Coast-based Property FM.

Amakye Dede Names Kiki Banson As The Person Who Gave Him The Crown To Bestow On Kuami Eugene

Veteran musician, Amakye Dede, has named Kiki Banson, as the person who gave him the crown to bestow on Kuami Eugene.

During the 2019 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA), Amakye Dede was captured on stage crowning Eugene as the ‘King of Future Highlife’.

Recently, he alleged that he was forced to do that.

In a different interview with Abeiku Santana, the highlife legend mentioned KiKi Banson as the one who was behind the act.

“I am telling you straightforwardly that Kiki was the one who gave me the crown. He was the one who forced me to crown Eugene. When he initially gave it to me, I gave it to one of my boys, Robberman, to put it down. Because it wasn’t my intention, they forced me to do it. If you like, you can call Kiki and confirm whether he wasn’t the one who gave me the crown. Call him right now,” he said.

When the host asked if he was talking about Kiki Banson, Amakye Dede replied: “Why should he do this to me?”

However, Robert Klah, the Head of Public Events and Communication at Charterhouse, has reacted that they knew nothing about the crowning session.

“We did not orchestrate any crowning session. So, I am a bit lost when it comes to the assertion that event organizers are responsible,” he stressed.

Ghanaian socialite, Efia Odo, got emotional when talking about LGBTQ+ issue.

She explained why she supports the gay community in an interview with Nana Romeo on Accra FM which ZionFelix.net monitored.

The vocal actress/model said that LGBTQ+ people are also humans.

She revealed that most of them chose to live that way because of some circumstances.

According to her, some of them were influenced and others are doing it because of money.

Nonetheless, Efia stressed that they are humans and not animals.

Popular entertainer, Akwasi Boadi aka Akrobeto, has reacted to claims that there’s no money in the movie industry.

Akrobeto added: “I am using myself as an example and Lilwin as well. Go and check out the school Lil Win has put up, go and see. Such a thing has never appeared in the history of Ghana. What job does he do? We shouldn’t be committing such mistakes. If it’s not the money from movies, then which money am I using to survive? Any money I get is either from the movie or acting work.”

Ghanaian choreographer, Incredible Zigi, has commented on how music promotion should be done nowadays.

He argued in a recent interview that no serious-minded musician will rely solely on DJs for promotion.

Zigi said they should promote their songs through other means which will help them to trend.
