Black Sherif’s Former Manager Breaks Silence After Court Ruling, Opens Up On Empire Deal Controversy

0

Black Sherif’s former manager, Shadrach Owusu Agyei, has finally broken his silence following the court ruling that brought their protracted legal battle to an end.

In his first detailed public account since the judgment, Shadrach Owusu Agyei shed light on how his fallout with the award-winning musician began, pointing to the controversial Empire record deal as the turning point in their relationship.

According to him, the issue emerged shortly after Black Sherif returned from a trip to Nigeria. He recounted that one morning, while on his way to work, the rapper called him with concerns about a contract that had been presented to him.

Shadrach explained that Black Sherif told him the deal had been encouraged by entertainment executive Aubrey Mensah. However, the artiste allegedly admitted that he did not fully understand the terms of the agreement and felt uneasy about what he had signed.

“When I finally saw the contract, I was shocked,” Shadrach said, explaining that the deal promised Black Sherif a sum of $30,000, but only $15,000 had been paid upfront. The remaining amount, according to the agreement, was earmarked for production purposes.

To the former manager, the structure of the deal raised serious concerns, particularly given the reported duration of the contract, which he claimed spanned 15 years. He questioned the logic behind tying such a long-term commitment to a relatively modest financial arrangement.

Adding to the confusion, Shadrach revealed that Black Sherif had previously cautioned against working with the same individuals involved in the deal. He claimed the rapper had once warned him never to engage with them, alleging that they had ignored him when he needed support and instead focused their attention on fellow artiste Yaw Tog.

Shadrach’s revelations come in the wake of the High Court’s decision, which dismissed most of the claims brought against Black Sherif by his former management, effectively ending the legal dispute between the two parties.

I Begged For Clothes To Worship, But I Never Stopped Singing – ACP Kofi Sarpong Reveals

Long before ACP Kofi Sarpong became a celebrated name in gospel music, his devotion to church life came with challenges that few ever saw.

The Ghanaian singer opened up on Neat FM on January 16, 2026, about the financial struggles that marked his early years in service. Despite giving himself fully to church work, he often found himself without even the clothes needed to attend services.

“I put my all into my church and I was involved in everything they do in church. Sometimes, getting clothes for church was difficult for me. I used to beg for clothes and wear to church,” he said.

Sarpong shared that looking presentable often relied on the generosity of friends. One friend, in particular, quietly helped him navigate those moments.

“One of my friends would pack his clothes to wash, then I go and select what to wear to church,” he stated.

Even amid these hardships, Sarpong refused to let his circumstances dim his spirit. He maintained a joyful presence in church, leaving others unaware of the struggles he faced.

“Despite the struggles, no one knew what I was going through. I would sing and dance in church as if I had no worries. That’s what showed that I was genuinely worshipping God,” he explained.

Reflecting on those days, the gospel singer emphasized that poverty never became a reason to compromise his worship. The experience, he said, only deepened his faith and appreciation for life.

“I didn’t look at my situation at that time to make excuses for worshipping God the right way. Those who were born into riches should thank God it’s not easy to be poor,” ACP Kofi Sarpong further stated.

Shatta Wale Sues Blakk Rasta For GH¢100m Over Alleged Defamatory Video

Ghanaian Dancehall artiste Charles Nii Armah Mensah, known professionally as Shatta Wale, has taken legal action against broadcaster and social commentator Abubakar Ahmed, widely called Blakk Rasta, filing a GH¢100 million defamation suit at the High Court in Accra.

The case centres on a video Blakk Rasta published on his Blakk Empire Media social media platforms on December 15, 2025, bearing the title “Shatta Wale, self-confessed king of fraud.” Shatta Wale contends that the content of the video crossed the line from commentary into deliberate character assassination.

According to the statement of claim, the artiste argues that the assertions made in the video were untrue, malicious and calculated to tarnish his public image. He maintains that the publication portrayed him as a fraudster, a thief and a morally bankrupt individual, descriptions he categorically rejects.

Court documents further state that the video quickly gained traction online. Within 24 hours, it had attracted more than 150,000 views on Facebook and over 27,000 views on YouTube, alongside thousands of comments and reactions, amplifying its reach and impact.

Shatta Wale also takes issue with claims that he associates with known fraudsters and allows illicit funds to pass through his bank accounts. He insists these allegations are baseless and defamatory, and says they have caused significant harm beyond the digital space.

In his filing, the artiste argues that the publication has damaged his reputation, unsettled his family, fans and business partners, and negatively affected his professional standing as a public figure.

He is asking the court to declare the statements defamatory, compel Blakk Rasta to permanently remove the video and any related content from all social media platforms, and issue an injunction preventing further defamatory publications.

The reliefs sought also include a public retraction and an unqualified apology to be published on the defendant’s social media pages, as well as full page notices in the Daily Graphic, Ghanaian Times and Graphic Showbiz.

In addition to these remedies, Shatta Wale is claiming GH¢100 million in damages, along with legal costs.

Shatta Wale Reveals He Earned $3 Million From Selling Part Of His Music Catalogue

Award-winning Ghanaian dancehall musician Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jr., popularly known as Shatta Wale, has disclosed that he earned a staggering $3 million from selling part of his extensive music catalogue.

The self-acclaimed dancehall king made this revelation during a live session on X (formerly Twitter), where he was engaging fans and fellow creatives on music business strategies and wealth creation in the entertainment industry.

According to Shatta Wale, the decision to sell a portion of his catalogue was a calculated business move aimed at generating capital for long-term investments.

He revealed that he sold 300 of his songs for $3 million, a move he believes many Ghanaian artistes should consider if they want to expand their financial portfolios beyond music.

“I have over 11,000 songs online that my team is still trying to gather. I sold 300 of my songs for $3 million, used the money to buy houses, do whatever I want to do with it, put some in my Shaxi business and other businesses,” Shatta Wale stated.

The musician explained that proceeds from the deal enabled him to invest heavily in real estate and to establish his online ride-hailing company, Shaxi, which continues to operate in Ghana’s transport space.

Shatta Wale also used the opportunity to encourage emerging artistes to understand the value of their intellectual property and explore innovative ways of monetising their work. He urged young musicians not to rely solely on streaming and performances but to think strategically about their catalogues as valuable assets.

In a subtle jab at critics, Shatta Wale recalled how some industry players had previously dismissed the value of his catalogue.

“Your same artiste went to say there’s nobody in Ghana that has a catalogue worth that much,” he added.

The revelation has sparked widespread discussion on social media, with many applauding Shatta Wale for his business acumen and openness about the financial side of the music industry, while others debate the long-term implications of selling music catalogues in the Ghanaian music market.

Daniel Yusif, a close associate of embattled Swedru-based socialite Abu Trica, has reportedly been arrested over his alleged involvement in wire fraud-related crimes.

Abu Trica, whose real name is Frederick Kumi and also known as Emmanuel Kojo Baah Obeng, was arrested on Thursday, December 11, 2025, in a joint operation involving the United States Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and Ghanaian security agencies.

According to an unsealed indictment by the US Department of Justice, Abu Trica is facing charges including conspiracy to commit wire fraud, money laundering conspiracy, and a forfeiture specification. If convicted, he could face up to 20 years in prison.

Following Abu Trica’s arrest, reports indicate that Daniel Yusif, popularly known as “Slab,” went into hiding to evade arrest.

However, his attempt to escape the country was foiled earlier this month. According to sources, Daniel was apprehended by police and other state security agencies at the Kotoka International Airport in Accra when he tried to flee Ghana.

Speaking on his Black Pot show, broadcaster Blakk Rasta disclosed that Daniel’s wife was initially taken into police custody as part of efforts to compel him to turn himself in after he went on the run.

Despite this, Daniel reportedly refused to surrender and allegedly made several failed attempts to leave the country through various land borders.

Blakk Rasta further revealed that security operatives had been strategically deployed to block Daniel’s exit from Ghana.

According to him, the suspect eventually opted to flee via air, attempting to travel to Europe through Kotoka International Airport after allegedly visiting a spiritual priest.
