The news of his demise was announced on Sunday, September 28, 2025, by his colleague and former actor, Henry Kodjo Agbai.

Angel Asiamah, husband of the founder of Heaven Way Champions International Ministry, Nana Agradaa, has given an uplifting update on his wife’s condition at the Nsawam Prison.

In a video shared on social media, Mr. Asiamah recounted a recent visit to his wife, who is currently serving a 15-year jail term with hard labour.

Nana Agradaa, known privately as Patricia Asieduaa, was sentenced by an Accra Circuit Court on July 3, 2025, after being convicted of fraud and charlatanic advertisement.

Addressing the congregation of Heaven Way Champions on Sunday, September 28, 2025, Angel Asiamah said his wife’s condition had improved significantly since his last visit.

“I went to see my wife, Mrs. Asiamah. This week I went to her and she gave me a Bible quote. Based on our chat and how she looked, things are going very well,” he said.

The visibly relieved husband added that Nana Agradaa appeared to be in good spirits both physically and mentally, noting that as the one closest to her, he was in the best position to describe her current state.

“When I say things are going well, I know what I am saying. When something is yours, it looks more beautiful to you than everyone else. So as Agradaa is my wife, if I say she’s doing well and living well, then that’s exactly how she is,” he added.

Speaking at the Kumasi Rising Music, Media, and Tourism Dialogue, Portfolio said Kumasi artistes often feel overshadowed and insecure when performing or engaging with colleagues from other regions.

“Inferiority complex is one thing that is killing musicians in Kumasi, and I think it is time we fight against it. I have had many complaints from industry professionals who personally told me that you won’t survive in the industry if you claim to be from Kumasi,” he said.

Apart from the artistes themselves, MC Portfolio called out sections of the media for fueling the problem, arguing that selective coverage damages the prospects of emerging talents.

“I am also talking to the media. We should play a role and shape the narrative. There are a lot of rappers and creatives here who will make it big on international stages, but the reports from our media are designed to affect them negatively,” he posited.

Sarkodie Says No Veteran Artiste Should Be Begging For Money If Music Systems Worked Properly

Sarkodie has urged Ghana’s music industry to build stronger systems that secure artistes’ long-term earnings, arguing that no veteran musician should face financial hardship if the sector were properly managed.

Speaking at the Kumasi Rising Music, Media, and Tourism Dialogue on September 25, 2025, the rapper stressed that music revenue alone could sustain artistes throughout their lives. He blamed the struggles of many older musicians on poorly negotiated contracts that stripped them of ownership of their work.

“All these old-age artistes, what music can make for you monthly, there’s no old-age artiste who should be asking for any money from anyone. But if you listen to their stories, somebody gave them some small change and then took the music, so now they have nothing to live off. If the system was right, nobody would have been able to get them to sell their catalogue. So it’s a lot,” Sarkodie said.

He added that safeguarding investments and creating stronger opportunities for monetization remain the most urgent needs for the industry. “But these two, the investment part and the monetization of the industry, if we get that right, Ghana wouldn’t need to go anywhere. We’d just go out there for the looks, but we’d still make money even if we stay local,” he explained.

The Sarkcess Music boss also dismissed speculation that he had sold his own music catalogue. Moderator Serwaa Amihere raised the question during the dialogue, giving him the chance to clarify. Sarkodie responded that he has only shifted between distribution partners, something he is free to do as an independent artiste.

“No, so we have partnerships. That’s what I’ve been doing. I do distribution with Ditto, and now with a new company. So that’s the luxury I have as an independent artiste. You are able to pick and choose who distributes my music,” he clarified.

Gyakie Reveals Why Shatta Wale Was Featured On ‘Harmattan’

Gyakie has opened up about her decision to feature Shatta Wale on her song Harmattan, describing him as the ideal artiste for the project.

In a recent interview on MX24, the Ghanaian singer explained that once the track was complete, Shatta Wale was the first name that came to mind. According to her, his distinctive energy and lyrical power made him the perfect match.

“Harmattan is the third track on the project — I believe third or fourth, and it was with Shatta Wale. Harmattan is a dancehall record produced by Sosa, and if you listen to this track, nobody has to tell you who was supposed to ask which dancehall artiste you think is going to really kill it. Shatta Wale was the perfect person for the song,” she said.
