Fresh details have emerged following the arrest of Ohene Kwame Frimpong at Schiphol Airport in the Netherlands.
The Member of Parliament, popularly known as OK Frimpong, has now publicly addressed the incident for the first time in a video that surfaced online on May 15, 2026.
In the video, Ghanaian media personality Blakk Rasta claimed he had spoken directly with the lawmaker and shared portions of their conversation during his show.
According to Blakk Rasta, the MP strongly denied reports suggesting he had been arrested over an alleged romance scam operation.
OK Frimpong reportedly stated that authorities only informed him of a money laundering allegation at the time of his arrest and insisted that claims linking him to romance fraud were false.
He also dismissed reports alleging his involvement in money laundering operations involving sums of $100 million and $35 million.
Blakk Rasta further disclosed that Rockson-Nelson Dafeamekpor had revealed that lawyers representing the MP in Amsterdam had obtained access to the arrest warrant connected to the case.
According to him, the warrant was reportedly issued on April 26, 2026.
“The lawyers are just informing me that they have seen the warrant, and it was issued on April 26. So, even as a sovereign nation, I doubt whether we were informed in any way,” he stated.
The detention of the MP was earlier confirmed in a statement signed by Ebenezer Ahumah Djietror and shared on the official social media pages of the Parliament of Ghana on Tuesday, May 12, 2026.
The statement indicated that parliamentary leadership was engaging Ghana’s diplomatic mission in the Netherlands to gather details surrounding the arrest.
