The coronavirus disease has sadly struck another Ghanaian dead and taken the number of recorded death cases in the country to two.

Currently, details of the person who has passed away are unknown.

In an update zionfelix.net sighted on the website of the health service, it is revealed that three new cases have been recorded, bringing Ghana’s total number to 27.

They added rest of the statement reads

A total of 521 suspected cases have been tested for COVID-19 by the Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research (NMIMR) and the Kumasi Centre for Collaborative Research (KCCR).

All the remaining 25 confirmed cases are receiving treatment in isolation, the Service added.

Among the confirmed cases, 20 are of Ghanaian nationality, the majority of whom returned to the country from affected countries.

Seven are of other nationalities – Norway, Lebanon, China, France and UK.

In respect of contact tracing, the Service said a total of 598 contacts have been identified and are being tracked.

One of the contacts developed symptoms and have been confirmed positive following tests while 19 have completed the 14 days of mandatory follow up.
