The long-standing rivalry between Ghanaian dancehall heavyweights Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale has flared up again, with Stonebwoy taking a fresh swipe at his rival on Snapchat.

In a video posted to his Stories, Stonebwoy reshared an old clip of Shatta Wale urging his fans to dig up and circulate past footage of Stonebwoy allegedly making unflattering remarks about the Shatta Movement.

Stonebwoy added a sharp caption to the repost:

“WHAT A NINCONPOOP 🤣😅 Azui, you be your own biggest enemy. How can you find peace? Come for free advice!”

The two musicians have a history of public spats, subliminal shots, and direct confrontations, making their rivalry one of the most enduring — and talked-about — in Ghana’s entertainment scene.

With this latest jab, it appears the feud is far from over.

A large crowd gathered to witness the gesture, with many filming the lively moments on their phones.

Bukom Banku, in his usual comedic and charismatic style, playfully heckled the businessman in the Ga language, urging him to give him some money.

To drive his point home, he mentioned his wife, Akorkor Martha, who sat nearby, as part of his humorous appeal.

The light-hearted moment paid off as Richard Quaye, known for his philanthropic spirit, handed the former boxer a bundle of GH¢20 notes worth GH¢2,000.

The crowd erupted in cheers and laughter as the two shared the jovial exchange.

Reggie Rockstone Blasts “Witchcraft” Trolls Over Stonebwoy’s Viral Wedding Video

Hiplife pioneer Reggie Rockstone has jumped to the defense of Stonebwoy after a viral video from Davido’s white wedding sparked online speculation.

The ceremony, held on August 9, 2025, saw the Ghanaian artiste among the special guests, with a performance that energized the crowd. But in the middle of his set, a bracelet slipped from his wrist, and Stonebwoy bent down to retrieve it, a moment that became fuel for online gossip.

Some social media users claimed he had been picking up the dollar bills sprayed during the celebration. The narrative quickly spread, despite Stonebwoy’s wife, Dr. Louisa, and others already clarifying that he was only collecting his bracelet.

In response, Reggie Rockstone took to Instagram to address the critics, describing the accusations as both petty and malicious.

“First of all, if he picked that money off the floor, remember who that money is for… The money they sprayed on him is actually for him. He can pick up the money because it is for him. Do you guys pay his school fees, or do you people take care of him?

On the surface, it just sounds like trolling. You people think it is normal, but it isn’t. It is witchcraft. It isn’t normal. If you people don’t stop this shit, you will suffer tenfold,” he said.

Rockstone emphasized that even if Stonebwoy had taken the sprayed cash, there would have been nothing wrong with it.

“All human beings should be humble. You are not too big to pick up money from the floor. You think Stonebwoy came from a rich family. You know the man hustled, you know where he came from.

Even if he had picked up the money from the floor, I still would be clapping from a negro,” the veteran Ghanaian artiste further stated.

Daddy Lumba Wanted To Sign Me After Our Collaboration – Selina Boateng Reveals

Ghanaian Gospel singer, Selina Boateng, has shared that her path nearly crossed more permanently with late Highlife musician Daddy Lumba when he expressed interest in signing her after their 2004 collaboration “Eye N’adom.”

During an interview on Kessben FM, she explained that the offer came unexpectedly during their studio session, but contractual obligations with her existing label meant she had to turn it down.

Boateng recalled that after they completed the song, Lumba told her he loved the track and wanted to take on the role of her producer. She noted that while she appreciated the gesture, her hands were tied because of her prior agreement.

Lilwin Clears The Air On Daddy Lumba Vigil Clash, Says It Was Never About Ticket Sales

Ghanaian actor and filmmaker Kwadwo Nkansah, known widely as Lilwin, has addressed the uproar that followed his emotional reaction to the timing of Highlife legend Daddy Lumba’s candlelight vigil coinciding with his latest movie premiere.

The Creative Arts Agency held the tribute at Black Star Square on Saturday, August 2, 2025, the very same day Lilwin’s film Ibrahim Traoré was to be premiered in Kumasi. Initially, the actor labelled the overlap as “sabotage,” a remark that ignited fierce criticism from Ghanaians who accused him of putting personal ambition ahead of a national farewell to the music icon.

During an interview with Graphic Showbiz, Lilwin clarified that his frustration was never about competing with the vigil for attention or ticket sales, but about losing the chance to personally honour a man he deeply admired.

“Honestly, it wasn’t about losing ticket sales because the movie premiere had already gained massive attention. Promotions were going well and everyone knew something big was on the way. Unfortunately, just a week before the premiere, we lost our legend, Daddy Lumba, which was a heartbreaking moment for all of us.

“To my surprise, his candlelight vigil was scheduled on the same day as my premiere. I believe many Ghanaians didn’t realise this until I pointed it out. I didn’t mention it because of my movie, but because I’m a huge fan of Daddy Lumba and I deeply admire him.

“I was torn between my premiere and the vigil of my idol and people misunderstood me. I wasn’t angry because of my premiere, I was just hurt because I couldn’t be at the vigil. I wanted to pay my respects, too,” he explained.

The controversy soon spiralled into darker territory, with online trolls accusing Lilwin of “ritual sacrifices” to secure box-office success, an allegation he called both hurtful and absurd.

“The accusations hurt me very much, but they made me stronger because anytime I listened to Daddy Lumba’s Yentie Obiaa, I was motivated to remain focused. I went on with the premiere and it was successful.”

That success was underscored by the presence of high-profile guests, including Burkina Faso’s Ambassador to Ghana, H.E. David Kabré, who attended with a military delegation. Also present were Ashanti Regional Minister Dr Frank Amoakohene, industry colleagues Vivian Jill, Dr Likee, Kyekyeku, and Kweku Flick, along with several business leaders.

In a highlight of the night, H.E. Kabré presented Lilwin with the Best Actor in Africa award, a gesture the actor described as unforgettable.

“I truly appreciate the honour and I was overjoyed because creating a movie about a country’s leader and he is so pleased that he sends his ambassador and military personnel to honour me, means a lot. That moment was priceless.

“Captain Ibrahim Traoré truly inspires me. I deeply appreciate him for the recognition and all the support he has given me,” he added.

Gomashie Calls For Unity, Warns Against Politicising Helicopter Crash Tragedy

Ghana’s Minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Abla Dzifa Gomashie, has called for unity and reflection as the nation grieves the loss of eight lives in the August 6 helicopter crash in the Ashanti Region.

After signing the Book of Condolence at the Ministry of Environment’s regional conference room, Gomashie urged citizens to set aside political divisions in the face of tragedy and focus on the values that bind the country together.

“This country needs to heal. We must reflect on our actions, whether they are helping or harming our nation. We cannot continue to politicise tragedies. We need to bow our heads in shame and learn from the lives and sacrifices of these gallant men. Let us be the Ghanaians the world knows us to be — empathetic and united,” she said.

Paying tribute to the late Defence Minister Dr Edward Omane Boamah and Environment Minister Dr Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed, Gomashie praised their unwavering patriotism, integrity, and service, calling them shining examples of leadership worth emulating.

She grew emotional as she recounted her last conversation with Dr Murtala, just one day before the fatal crash.

“I will shock you. I am going to the Ashanti Region, when I return, you’ll see the things I’ve done for you,” he had told her.

That memory, she explained, was especially difficult to bear, as she was also preparing for her father’s funeral when news of the disaster reached her.
