“I’ve not smoked weed for the past 5 months” – Shatta Wale alleges

Shatta Wale has disclosed that he has abstained from smoking weed for the past five months now.

During a meet-up in his hotel room in Navrongo, Shatta Wale shared this personal milestone while advising an up-and-coming artist to avoid drugs and concentrate on their music career.

“Make your focus go the music more. Leave some things,” Shatta Wale urged. He emphasized the importance of dedicating oneself to music rather than indulging in substance abuse.

“I smoke alright but about five months now I have not smoked weed. I know people will not believe me. It’s just cigarette that I smoke now,” he revealed, acknowledging that his claim might be met with skepticism.

Shatta Wale concluded his advice by stressing the necessity of prioritizing one’s well-being and avoiding harmful substances.

“Sometimes you need to quit certain things and focus on yourself. But the tramol and those things, don’t take it because I have boys who took those things are condemned now,” he warned.

He emphasized the impartiality of the law, stating, “Upon your release from remand, it’s important to make wise decisions because, in Ghana, no one is above the law.

We, as public figures, must lead lives that inspire others, avoiding such incidents.”

Akrobeto continued, “When you deviate from the right path, the law will intervene without exception. Pastor Owusu Bempah, for instance, was taken into custody and subsequently issued an apology. There have been others who have faced legal consequences for their actions,” he said in Twi.

Popular Ghanaian dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale, has responded to claims that he fought with his manager, Sammy Flex, during a concert at Bolgatanga.

Following his concert at Bolgatanga on Friday, May 31, 2024, it was speculated that he fought with his manager.

This was after a video of Wale raising a concern to Sammy Flex, his manager went viral.

The Shatta Movement boss was not happy about how the security at the event treated his fans at a point.

Nana Akua said it’s inappropriate for them to take their car keys and phones to the red carpet.

According to her, such a practice is outmoded.

She explained that the red carpet was made to flaunt elegance and make a fashion statement.

“Where Nigerians are taking fashion to is on a different level, they are advancing…utterly professional. Their personal assistants and aides are present, ensuring that everything is taken care of before you step onto the red carpet. The focus is just you, your brand, what you are wearing attire; nothing else,” Nana Akua Addo told Berla Mundi on The Day Show.

Veteran actor, Fred Amugi, has pointed out some of the discriminations in the movie industry.

During an interview with Graphic Showbiz, Mr Amugi disclosed how he was badly treated some time ago.

He claimed he was rejected for movie roles because of his age.

“I was once rejected because people thought I was too old. But they forgot that a family needs both children and older people to be complete. What we see on TV and in movies shows us how people live together. And in every community, people of all ages work together. So, I’m still active, still acting and still doing well,” the 75-year-old actor disclosed.

However, this won’t push him to retire. He also opened up about the projects he was working on.

 “I’m still active in acting and have two new films coming out. I’ve just finished one called The Fisherman, which is a foreign style film made in Ghana. I’m still working on the second one, Yen Ara, extensively Yen Ara Asaase Ni. So expect great things!”

On how actors can improve themselves, Fred Amugi stated:

“When it comes to acting, I think the most important qualities are humility and discipline. These traits come from experiencing different aspects of life. We can learn from what happens around us and what brings good and bad things.

“By seeing how others have lived, we can learn to be humble and disciplined. Those who are, tend to have the best lives. Humility and discipline are key.”
