Sing-A-Thon: Afua Asantewaa pays $750 for premium review of her sing-a-thon attempt evidence

0

Afua Asantewaa Aduonum, the Ghanaian Journalist who engaged in a sing-a-thon attempt in December 2023, has disclosed that she and her management have paid for a priority review of her sing-a-thon.

Speaking in an interview on Accra-based Joy Prime, Afua shared that the usual verification process takes up to 12 weeks, prompting her decision to fast-track it after two weeks of waiting.  The priority review, which goes for $750, according to her, will take 1–5 days, as against the standard review that takes 12 weeks.

“Because of the popularity of the event they requested for our files. After two weeks of waiting, we requested a priority review. The normal review takes not less or more than 12 weeks. But if you want it quick you pay an amount of money and they review your file within five working days.

So that’s what we paid for. Officially, it’s $650 but when you are going to pay, you’ll need to pay some transaction fee so we did roughly $750,” she said.

The Sing-a-thon, a marathon singing endeavor, captivated audiences as Asantewaa embarked on her vocal journey on December 24, 2023. The melodic odyssey concluded on December 29, spanning an astounding 126 hours and 52 minutes.

Afua Asantewaa’s sing-a-thon brought Ghanaians together during the yuletide as she made Ghanaian music popular.

Gospel Artistes Are Not Angels – Obaapa Christy To Critics

0

Obaapa Christy has sent out a message to critics of Gospel artistes.

Oftentimes, some Ghanaian Gospel artistes are criticised over their actions.

Commenting on this, the ‘W’asue Me’ singer pleaded with Ghanaians to calm down with their criticisms.

Christy explained that Gospel artistes are humans and not angels, so they could make mistakes.

“There is no need saying all sorts of things to dampen their spirits. I sometimes hear not too good comments about gospel musicians when their issues come up and they can be very disheartening.

“Inasmuch as we are gospel musicians, we are mere mortals and we are bound to make mistakes too. Some media persons and Ghanaians dwell on the negatives instead of focusing on the positives. What is the point in rejoicing over someone’s downfall?” she said in an interview with Graphic Showbiz.

The popular Gospel singer further advised her colleagues to put a value on themselves.

“I always say that when you place value on yourself, no event organiser will pay you whatever they want but rather give what is due you when you are hired to perform. I have done this for over 20 years for anyone to just pay me any amount. I am paid what I am due and that is because I am worth it,” Obaapa Christy stated.

You Don’t Get Airplays If You Are Not Singing In Twi – Jupitar Complains

0

Ghanaian Reggae and Dancehall artiste, Jupitar is displeased about how artistes who do not sing in English struggle to get recognition.

He claimed it is not easy to get recognition as an artiste if you do not sing in Twi.

Jupitar said most radio stations in Ghana play Twi and Pidgin songs. Meanwhile, there are good rappers/artistes using their native languages to compose songs.

“Most of our radio stations in our media space have chosen one particular language that they will promote. There is a very good rapper in the north who actually raps in Dagati or Sissala. But he can’t fluently speak Twi or pidgin…if you take that music to Accra. It won’t get up to two airplays,” he said on D-Black’s Uncut show.

He argued that Fancy Gadam’s ‘Total Cheat’ was given airplay on radio stations because of the pidgin English.

The ‘Be Mine’ singer further mentioned other African artistes who are successful despite singing in their native languages.

“Take Nigeria for example, look at artistes like Focalistic. Phyno, Asake. They all make songs in their native language. But yet they play these songs and they jam to it. So our creative space shouldn’t limit songs to one language,” Jupitar stated.

Dr Grace Boadu’s death is spiritual – Bishop Ajagurajah alleges

0

Bishop Kwabena Asiamah aka Ajagurajah has reacted to the shocking demise of Dr Grace Boadu, the founder of Grace Gift Herbal Clinic.

Yesterday, Kessben FM was the first to share the sorrowful news on its social media platforms.

According to earlier reports, the dedicated healthcare professional passed away after bravely battling a prolonged illness.

However, confirmed reports emphatically state that she died after she tripped and fell in her washroom while taking her bath.

Amid the mourning, Bishop Ajagurajah has firmly argued that the late herbalist caused her death.

As asserted by Ajagurajah, Dr. Grace Boadu opened herself up for spiritual attacks because some of her patients were suffering for the sins they have committed – Hence didn’t deserve to be admitted into her health center and receive treatment.

He continued that, some patients are cursed hence anyone who heals them is made to pay dearly for that.

Ajajurajah further advised other herbal practitioners to make deep inquiries in the spiritual realms before offering to assist any of the people who flood their various facilities for healing.
