Some Of You Pastors Are Honestly Embarrassing God – Prince David Osei On Prophet ElBernard’s Failed Kennedy Agyapong Prophecy

0

Ghanaian actor and vocal New Patriotic Party (NPP) supporter, Prince David Osei, has publicly criticized some pastors for issuing what he calls “false prophecies” after Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia secured victory in the party’s 2026 presidential primaries. The win came despite a prediction by Prophet Bernard ElBernard Nelson-Eshun that former MP Kennedy Agyapong would take the lead.

On Instagram, Osei shared a message cautioning against claiming divine authority for personal or political predictions. “Some of you pastors are honestly embarrassing God — speaking what He never said and walking around with pride like it’s a virtue,” he wrote. “No wonder so many believers now seek the face of Elohim for themselves. Trusting some pastors today feels like playing hide‑and‑seek with the devil.”

Osei framed his post around biblical warnings, citing scriptures from Galatians, Proverbs, Isaiah, and Jeremiah to underscore the dangers of misrepresenting God’s will. He reminded readers that being a pastor does not make one divine and that God’s glory cannot be shared with man. “Whenever a man tries to play God, the end is always the same — humiliation and destruction,” he noted.

The actor’s comments reflect a growing sentiment among Ghanaians frustrated with the intersection of religion and politics, where religious figures publicly endorse candidates or claim to predict electoral outcomes. Osei’s warning, grounded in scripture, is a call for discernment: “Test every spirit,” he urged, quoting 1 John 4:1.

Sonnie Badu Backs Prophet ElBernard After Failed Prophecy, Advises Him To Take A Break Abroad

0

As public debate swirled around Prophet ElBernard after his political prophecy failed to materialise, gospel musician Sonnie Badu emerged with a firm message of reassurance and solidarity.

The founder and lead pastor of Spiritlife Revival Ministries, Prophet Bernard ElBernard Nelson-Eshun, had predicted that businessman and politician Kennedy Agyapong would win the New Patriotic Party’s presidential primaries held on January 31. The race, however, ended with former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia securing victory, a result that sparked criticism and renewed scrutiny of the prophecy.

Amid the backlash, Sonnie Badu turned to social media to publicly defend the cleric, insisting that ElBernard’s long-standing reputation should not be overshadowed by a single moment. He portrayed the prophet as a figure whose credibility and influence were built steadily over time, largely away from controversy.

“For many years, you were silent, and your works spoke for you. You are a man of integrity without blemish, and your large congregation is proof that you are trusted by God,” Badu wrote.

He went on to suggest that the sharp reactions had more to do with jealousy than the prophecy itself, noting that visibility and success often draw opposition.

“Brother, hear me, what you have has made you an envy and the truth of the matter is that you are quite high in the rankings, hence generating a lot of enemies.

“THIS TOO SHALL PASS! In our last conversation, we laughed over how people can pay their way to power and silly mistakes people make in their past not knowing their future. (Some mistakes are costly),” he said.

After Prophet ElBernard announced plans to step back temporarily from ministry activities, Badu encouraged him to rest and reset abroad, stressing that his integrity and work continue to be respected outside Ghana.

“I beg, take a break, come to America. You are needed and valued. Some come without invitation and they still don’t get the opportunity because they lack integrity. You are fully booked so much so that you cancelled and couldn’t accept a lot,” Sonnie Badu wrote.

Israel Laryea Speaks On Wife Louisa’s Viral Post And Troll Storm Following Lily Mohammed Comment

0

Ghanaian journalist Israel Laryea has responded to the online storm surrounding his wife, Louisa Laryea, after a social media post she made went viral and triggered criticism from fans of GHOne TV presenter Lily Mohammed. The controversy arose after Lily’s comment about Ghanaian authorities granting a passport to American content creator IShowSpeed after his recent tour in Ghana.

In a detailed statement shared on social media, Israel addressed the backlash, clarifying the intention behind Louisa’s post and urging followers to consider context before passing judgment.

“Louisa and I have had conversations about her post that went viral and caused a troll storm, and I got her to appreciate a few things — one of them being that there’s one thing about what you say and another about how people interpret it,” Israel explained. “While you may feel free to say what you wish, you cannot necessarily control how people understand it. There’s also how people would choose to spin it to suit their own narrative.”

He emphasized that Louisa never intended to target Lily personally or make assumptions about her appearance, including claims about skin bleaching or cosmetic procedures. “She however explains that she never meant to body shame anyone,” Israel said. “Unfortunately, we can all agree that you can’t control how people choose to interpret a post. Louisa further clarifies that she never sought to infer that Lily Mohammed had bleached or done BBL because she does not know her. If Lily felt offended, sorry, but that was definitely not the intention.”

Israel also addressed the personal attacks that emerged online, including comments about his marriage and Louisa’s appearance. “I’ve also read posts and comments about my marriage. To those people, I’d say focus on your marriage if you have one or when you enter one. There are also those who say Louisa is ugly. Really? This woman right here, at 52 years, after giving birth to three children, is ugly? Create a human, let’s see how you fare.”

He concluded with a note on friendship and loyalty, stressing the importance of context before joining online trolling. “Finally, to the ‘friends’ who joined the troll or fueled it, what real friends will do would be to reach out privately to obtain some context or seek to correct if necessary. I’ve never trolled or joined trolling of a friend and would never do that. But hey, we’re all brought up differently, which is why we will always have differences in opinions. Stay well. …and to you, Louisa, I love you always.”

Prophet ElBernard takes a pause from making political prophecies after Ken Agyapong’s loss in NPP flagbearer election

Prophet Bernard ElBernard Nelson-Eshun has announced a temporary pause from public teaching and preaching following his recent apology over an inaccurate prophecy about the NPP presidential primaries.

In a statement, he said, “Following my recent public apology concerning the prophetic declarations I made about the New Patriotic Party presidential primaries, I have, in humility and accountability, chosen to take a short and intentional pause from making public prophetic declarations, particularly those related to national and political matters.”

He added, “In the same spirit of responsibility, I have also decided to step back for a season from public teaching, preaching, and pulpit ministry.

This is a deliberate and voluntary step to allow for reflection, prayer, counsel, and the strengthening of accountability in how prophetic revelations are received, interpreted, and communicated.”

Prophet ElBernard stressed that he is not stepping away from his calling entirely. “I am not stepping away from my calling or from ministry altogether.

“I remain committed to personal prayer, study, and quiet pastoral responsibility, while intentionally realigning myself in growth, integrity, and discernment,” he said.

Joe Mettle Announces Decision to Stay Away from 2026 Telecel Ghana Music Awards

0

Gospel musician Joe Mettle has announced that he will not participate in the 2026 Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA), revealing that he has decided to take a break from the awards scheme for this year.

Speaking in an interview on Accra-based Hitz FM, the multiple award-winning artiste disclosed that his decision means he will neither submit his works for nomination nor be involved in any activities related to the awards.

According to Joe Mettle, he has already communicated his position to the organizers of the Telecel Ghana Music Awards, and the matter has been amicably resolved.

“No, I’ve actually had a conversation with them, so we are fine. I am taking a small break from the TGMA for this year. I won’t be around; that’s why. I saw the date, and I won’t be around,” he said.

When pressed on whether his absence from the awards would extend beyond this year, the gospel star clarified that his decision applies only to the current year and should not be over-interpreted.

“This year, for just this year. We are dealing with this year, so when other years come, we will deal with them when they come. You are in a hurry to go to other years when you haven’t seen the year yet,” he added.

Joe Mettle’s announcement has sparked reactions among fans and industry observers, many of whom consider him a key figure in Ghana’s gospel music scene and a regular presence at the awards.

While his absence will be felt at this year’s TGMA, the artiste’s comments suggest the decision is temporary, leaving the door open for a possible return in future editions of the awards.

Fella Makafui Recounts How She Landed Role in Netflix Film ANIKULAPO

0

Ghanaian actress Fella Makafui has opened up about how she secured a major role in the Netflix film ANIKULAPO: A Ghoul Awakens, describing the experience as both surreal and fulfilling.

According to Fella, the opportunity began with an unexpected phone call from renowned Ghanaian film producer Juliet Asante, who played a key role in pushing for Ghanaian representation in the project.

“She said, ‘I’m pushing for Ghana to be part of ANIKULAPO, and I believe you can absolutely kill this role,’” Fella revealed in a social media post.

She continued that; “At first, I honestly thought I was dreaming.”

The actress further disclosed that working with celebrated Nigerian filmmaker Kunle Afolayan had been a long-standing ambition.

“Working with Kunle Afolayan had always been a dream,” she said, adding humorously, “I even sent him a DM years ago, which he obviously didn’t see.”

That dream soon became reality when she finally spoke with the director. However, the role came with a significant challenge.

According to Fella, Afolayan informed her that she would be required to speak Yoruba, a language she had never spoken before.

“When he told me, ‘You’ll be speaking Yoruba,’ I said, ‘Yes sir, I can do it,’” she recounted. “We got a coach, and I started lessons. The language was hard, but I wanted this challenge.”

Fella praised the production team and fellow cast members for their warmth and encouragement throughout the filming process.

“Everyone was so welcoming. I honestly didn’t even want to leave after shooting,” she said.

Expressing gratitude, the actress thanked Juliet Asante for believing in her abilities and giving her the platform to shine on an international stage.

“It is truly an honor to be part of this masterpiece,” Fella added.

Fire Oja Says He Won’t Apologize To Mzbel Unless Court Orders Him To

0

Prophet Fire Oja has broken his silence after being hauled before the courts by Ghanaian singer and entrepreneur Mzbel, making it clear he has no intention of offering an apology unless compelled by law.

The two appeared in court for the first time on Friday, January 30, 2026, following a lawsuit filed by Mzbel over statements she says were false and damaging to her reputation. After the sitting, Fire Oja maintained that he would only apologise if a court order or legal advice from his counsel required him to do so. When pressed on whether he would apologise if God instructed him, he responded that he could not disobey God.

His lawyer, Isaac Kwabena Kruh ESQ, also addressed the media, describing the charge against his client as a misdemeanor, which he said is not a serious offence. According to him, Fire Oja has done nothing wrong and is prepared to see the case through the full legal process. He explained that a conviction on a misdemeanor charge could result in a fine or a prison sentence of three to six months. He expressed confidence that his client has a strong defence.

Asked to draw a line between the law and prophecy, the lawyer stated that prophetic or religious pronouncements must be delivered in a manner that does not offend or defame others.

The legal battle stems from earlier events in which Mzbel disclosed that Fire Oja had been picked up by the police over claims she described as untrue and harmful. She said she made a formal complaint and that the prophet was cooperating with investigators at the time.

Mzbel accused Fire Oja of crossing the line by making what she called false allegations, including comments linked to a video in which he suggested she had been hospitalised after a spiritual or soul travel experience. She has strongly rejected those claims.

Although Fire Oja later denied being arrested, Mzbel insisted in an interview with ZionFelix that he was indeed taken into custody. She reiterated after the court session, in a separate video message, that her decision to sue was aimed at clearing her name and protecting her reputation, which she said left her with no option but to seek justice through the courts.

Following Friday’s hearing, Mzbel also shared details of the proceedings online, revealing that Fire Oja had been granted bail in the sum of GHS 50,000 with two sureties. She again stressed that the lawsuit was driven by the need to defend both her personal image and her professional work.

Mzbel Takes Fire Oja To Court As Defamation Case Moves To March

The legal tussle between musician and businesswoman Belinda Nana Ekua Amoah, popularly known as Mzbel, and Prophet Fire Oja has officially entered the courts, with an Adenta District Court setting a new date to continue hearing the matter.

Both parties appeared before the court for the first time on Friday, January 30, 2025, marking the formal start of a defamation case stemming from comments allegedly made about the singer on social media platforms.

After the initial hearing, Mzbel took to social media to brief the public on developments in court, revealing that Fire Oja was granted bail in the sum of GHS 50,000 with two sureties. She made it clear that her decision to pursue legal action was deliberate and rooted in a desire to protect her personal and professional standing.

In her post, Mzbel stated: “Today, I appeared before the court in relation to a defamation matter arising from statements made about me on social media.
The court proceedings went smoothly. The accused, Fire Oja, was granted bail in the sum of GHS 50,000, with two sureties.
This matter is currently before the court, and I have full confidence in the judicial process. I initiated this action to protect my name, reputation, and professional work.
Out of respect for the court, I will not be making further comments on the substance of the case at this time. I kindly ask the media and the public to allow the legal process to take its course. Thank you.”

The case follows events from weeks earlier, when Mzbel disclosed that Prophet Fire Oja had been taken into police custody over remarks she described as false and damaging. At the time, she said the self-styled prophet was cooperating with investigators after she filed a formal complaint against him.

Mzbel has accused Fire Oja of making defamatory claims, including comments tied to a video in which he alleged that she had been hospitalized after what he referred to as a spiritual or soul travel experience. She has consistently rejected those claims as untrue.

Although Fire Oja later denied being arrested, Mzbel maintained in an interview with ZionFelix that he was indeed taken into custody. She reiterated after the court session, in a video message, that her primary aim is to clear her name, which informed her decision to seek judicial intervention.

The court has adjourned the case to March 11, 2026, when proceedings are expected to resume.

How Oyerepa TV Discussions Affected Yaw Sarpong – Bishop JY Adu Discloses

0

Bishop JY Adu, leader of the New Jerusalem Chapel and longtime confidant of the late gospel musician Yaw Sarpong, has opened up about how public discussions about the singer’s personal life took a toll on him.

In a recent interview with Denis Mac-Caulley, also known as Bonshayka, on Hello FM in Kumasi, Bishop Adu recounted a moment that deeply troubled Sarpong. The late musician’s wife had tried to address their marital issues through a program hosted by Auntie Naa on Oyerepa TV.

According to him, the conversation went far beyond ordinary discussion and impacted Sarpong on both a spiritual and personal level. He noted that the musician was hurt by the remarks about him and his family made on air.

Before this incident, Adu said, Sarpong had been in good health and actively performing in church, singing and playing multiple instruments. But after the program aired, his condition declined. Adu described how Sarpong struggled with episodes resembling memory loss, occasionally regaining clarity only to lose it again.

The bishop also spoke about the challenges he faced in caring for the gospel icon, highlighting the responsibility he carried in monitoring his well-being. He recalled how Sarpong’s children quickly came to take him under their care following the death of Maama Tiwaa.

Bishop Adu emphasized that he had known Sarpong for many years and was able to provide support even when medical doctors could not cure him. During his care, Sarpong received consistent attention, with regular checks on his blood pressure and vital signs, ensuring he was treated diligently until the end of his life.

Men Should Stop Cheating With Their Wives’ Best Friends and Close Relations — Kwabena Kwabena advises

0

Renowned Ghanaian highlife musician Kwabena Kwabena has cautioned men against engaging in romantic affairs with their wives’ best friends or close relatives, describing such actions as deeply painful and morally wrong.

The singer made the remarks during an exclusive interview with Doreen Avio and Kwame Dadzie on Hitz FM while discussing the storyline behind his classic hit song Aso, which he recently remixed with Stonebwoy and Kofi Kinaata.

According to Kwabena Kwabena, infidelity is a common issue in relationships and is not limited to one gender.

Although Aso largely tells the story of cheating from a male perspective, he emphasised that betrayal in relationships affects both men and women equally.

“It swings both ways,” the musician explained. “Apart from telling the ‘Aso’ story for the men, of course because I’m a man I will tell it from a man’s perspective. I mean it’s something relatable because it is something that happens both ways.”

Speaking in a light-hearted but pointed manner, Kwabena Kwabena condemned the practice of men engaging in affairs with their wives’ best friends or close relations, noting that such behaviour compounds the pain of infidelity.

He stressed that involving someone close to one’s partner makes the betrayal far more hurtful.

“I mean there are guys who are chopping their wives’ best friend and close relation, you guys have to stop that,” he added.
