It’s A Misplaced Priority – Samini Reacts To The Building Of The National Cathedral

Samini has reacted to the building of the National Cathedral.

Several Ghanaian citizens were against the decision of the NPP government to build the cathedral.

Despite the opposition from some of the citizens, the government was relentless.

Following his appearance on The Day Show, the popular Ghanaian Reggae/Dancehall musician spoke against it.

He stated that the building of the National Cathedral is a misplaced priority.

The award-winning musician made this remark when asked if he had been let down by the party he supported.

“I am a person that does not buy into the idea of building a national Cathedral. That is purely a misplaced priority,” said Samini.

He also asked the government to pay critical attention to healthcare, education, job creation and poverty alleviation.

Last night, I emerged victorious, clinching the prestigious Artiste of the Year Award at the Ghana Music Awards France! A heartfelt thank you to everyone championing my ministry’s growth and the organizers of this event, Piesie Da Mo Ase!

The Ghana Music Awards EUROPE is largely a people’s choice awards scheme that seeks to champion and expand the development of the Ghanaian music industry both home and abroad, into an international market for global recognition of Ghanaian creative works.

The scheme is established to create an open market for collaboration, sales, new music trends, cultural exchanges, marketing opportunities and several benefits to be accessed by Ghanaian musicians in EUROPE.

The expectation of the organizers of the scheme is to make the GHANA MUSIC AWARDS EUROPE brand the biggest music festival to be held yearly in EUROPE to award excellence and creativity and give an equal opportunity for Ghanaians in the diaspora to compete with their local counterparts on one platform of excellence.

Ahuofe Patri emotionally opens up about her depression

Priscilla Opoku Agyeman, popularly known as Ahuofe Patri, the acclaimed Ghanaian actress, and model has shared an intriguing personal experience during an episode of “Ride and Chat.”


In a candid conversation, she delved into her meteoric rise to fame, shared personal anecdotes, and discussed the importance of open communication, particularly among young people, as she shed light on the prevalence of depression in today’s society.

Ahuofe Patri’s appearance on the show did not only provid fans with an intimate look into her life but also showcased her commitment to addressing pressing issues, such as mental health.


During the episode, she emphasized the significance of open and honest conversations within families to combat the rising tide of depression.

The actress acknowledged that, contrary to common perceptions, depression is not limited to any particular group and can affect anyone, even those who appear to lead glamorous lives in entertainment.

One notable aspect of her discussion was her refusal to downplay the existence of depression.

During the conversation, Ahuofe Patri also reminisced about her experiences in the film industry.


She highlighted the demanding nature of her work and pointed out that the movie “The Big Six” as one of the most challenging movies she has starred in.

Additionally, she admitted that losing her mother was the first time she truly experienced a broken heart, “My heart was shattered when I lost my mother,” she said.

Bullet vows to get all doom prophets arrested

Artist manager Bullet has expressed his frustration towards spiritual leaders who have made it their main job to make negative predictions about his musicians, spreading fear and panic while gaining notoriety at his and his artists’ expense.

According to the Rufftown Records boss, there is a woman who recently made some damning pronouncements about Afropop star Wendy Shay’s future, causing him to report her to the police. She has now begged for mercy, he added.

Bullet expressed his belief that these spiritual leaders who peddle doom prophecies also scheme to have their pronouncements come to pass.

“So I am taking them to the police so that if something untoward happens, they will be questioned and held responsible,” he added.

He stressed that he has made several reports to the police regarding this issue.

Furthermore, he asserted that the leader of Prophetic Hill Chapel “Prophet Nigel Gaisie should have been arrested following his prophecy about Ebony and her subsequent death”.

Bullet opined that it was this incident that made Gaisie popular.

He decried other prophets who “went on media tours” making accusation against him after Ebony’s death.

Bullet noted that he would have prophets who made doom declarations about his current act Wendy Shay arrested specifically to sign a bond which will have them provide answers should anything bad happen to the subject of their prophecies.

“Okyeame Kwame influenced me to become a musician” – Amerado reveals

Ghanaian rapper Amerado has spoken about the significant influence that veteran musician Okyeame Kwame and other artists have had on his career.


During an interview on TV3 Showbiz 360, Amerado reflected on his journey from moments of uncertainty to his current success, giving credit to the support he received from fellow artists and fans.

He further highlighted the immense support and influence these artists had on him impacted his journey in music.

He applauded rap doctor Okyeame Kwame and a host of other music guru’s who bared the touch for him

“Okyeame Kwame is always first, and I will always applaud him.” Amerado also acknowledged the support and influence of other artists such as Eugene Praye (Horni Hor), Ofori Amponsah, the late Daasebre Gyamenah, and Obrafour”


Reflecting on his music career journey, Amerado recounted the struggles and challenges he battled just to fend for himself

“I went to England and I was contemplating on whether to come back to my career or stay there which I knew was not permitted. I took it upon myself to come back after consulting a few people. When I came back, things were way harder. I was playing casino and betting. Sometimes, I go hungry, so I have to go to friends for money to eat.”

Despite the obstacles, Amerado expressed his dedication to constant improvement and growth in the music industry, acknowledging that it comes with a certain level of pressure.

He also took the opportunity to express his gratitude to his fans for their unwavering support and encouraged them to continue supporting his music and that of other Ghanaian artists.

Amerado is out with his latest projects, including “Kwaku Anase” and the “Young and Strong” EP, all available for streaming on the various music platforms

“I’ll support for NDC in the next elections” – KOD reveals

Broadcaster Kofi Okyere Darko, popularly known as KOD, has expressed his extreme disappointment in the Akufo-Addo government.

Having supported the NPP in the past, KOD has said his support will go to the NDC in the 2024 election.

According to him, he supported the New Patriotic Party (NPP) during the 2020 general elections, but due to the poor governance of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, he will not vote for the party in the next elections.

The Ghanaian broadcaster lamented about the state of the Ghanaian economy and believes that it could have been better than the current circumstances.

Speaking in an interview with JoyPrime on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, Kofi Okyere Darko (KOD) asserted that the Akufo-Addo-led government has failed the nation woefully.

He went on to state that he would not cast his ballot for the NDC in the 2024 general elections.

“It [Akufo-Addo’s administration] could have been better. This is supposed to be our best time in Ghana and it is one of the reasons why I supported his campaign in 2020. I don’t think he has done well,” he said.

He further stated “In the next election, I won’t vote for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) but would rather do so for the National Democratic Congress (NDC).”

His response came following concerns raised by some Ghanaians in relation to whether he is impressed with the Akufo-Addo-led government or not.

Kofi Okyere Darko (KOD) was a staunch supporter of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and was campaigning vigorously for the party during the 2020 general elections.
