Ghanaian actress, Jackie Appiah, has paid tribute to Junior Pope.

The Nigerian actor died a few days ago following a boat accident.

Following the twists and controversies about his demise, many have paid tribute to him.

Jackie mourned him and other crew members in a post on Instagram.

After sharing a candlelight, she prayed that we shall not die as we look for our daily bread.

Lydia Forson has stated that Africa’s Movie Industry needs better infrastructure.

The Ghanaian actress complained in an X post following the death of Nigerian actor, Junior Pope, after a boat mishap on the line of duty.

Lydia said there are so many risks involved and they have survived near-death experiences as actors.

She stated that the industry needs and deserves much better than just their passion.

The outspoken actress added that safety measures need to be put in place urgently.

“I’m so triggered by this loss. So many risks we take that we shouldn’t, so many times we’ve survived near-death experiences; all in the bid to entertain & tell stories. Our industries need and deserve better than just our passion. This is why some of us fight so hard for it,” Lydia Forson wrote.

The talented movie star is said to have drowned while returning from a movie location with his colleagues in a boat when they fell into Anam River in Anambra State

Their bodies have since been recovered.

Before his death, the actor had shared a video of himself on a boat, praying frantically to arrive at his destination safely. This incident happened today, April 10th, on his way back from the location.

Amihere, a GHOne TV presenter, has been in the news lately after her intimate video with Henry Fitz surfaced online.

In a statement sighted by Zionfelix.net, the management of EIB Network revealed what has caused the delay of their public comment on the issue.

According to them, it is a result of the criminal proceedings being instituted by the state against certain persons who are alleged to have published the video.

They also disclosed the decision by the management to conduct an independent investigation into the circumstances surrounding the release of the video.

Former member of Dance With Purpose (DWP) Academy, Danita Akosua Adomaah Yeboah, popularly known as Afronitaa, has expressed her feelings of discontent regarding her departure from the dance group.

Sharing her experience since exiting DWP, Afronitaa said it was a tough decision which had to be made to allow her pursue other endeavours.

In an interview on Joy Prime, she said it was God’s plan for her to leave and explore further.

“Obviously, I wasn’t happy, but I’m someone who believes in God and His directions. So, I knew that it was God’s plan for my life. Even if I wasn’t happy, I had to accept it whether I liked it or not,” she noted.

Earlier this year, Afronitaa parted ways with DWP to begin her solo dance career.

DWP in a press statement confirmed Afronitaa’s departure, noting that it was a tough decision to let go of the dancer.

“We are happy to announce that our dear Danita Akosua Adomaah Yeboah (Afronitaa) has moved on as a brand on her own.

“It was a tough decision to let Afronitaa go, but her move is in line with the mission of Dance With A Purpose (DWP) Academy; to build brands out of all the young and gifted personalities that join the family,” the statement said.

Few weeks after leaving the group, Afronitaa together with Abigail of TV3 Talented Kids fame auditioned on Friday, February 9 for Britain’s Got Talent.

Funny Face granted GH120,000 bail after Kasoa accident

Funny Face has finally been released from police custody after his near-fatal Kasoa accident.

The Ghanaian actor was involved in an accident around 8 PM on Sunday, 24th March 2023, after he reportedly knocked down about 5 pedestrians while driving his Hyundai Atos car.

According to reports that circulated on social media, the accident happened at Kasoa, Kakraba Junction.

Funny Face was arrested after the accident and has been in police custody. The actor appeared at the Kasoa-Akweley District Court on 26th March 2024 and has been remanded.

During Joy FM’s midday news today, Richard Kojo Nyarko, the head of the Legal Affairs Desk of the Accra-based radio station, said, “We went to the Kasoa-Akweley district court where comedian Funny Face was put before the court. It was an in-camera hearing, so we are told he had been granted bail in the sum of GH₵120,000.”

Giving further updates on the victims, he said, “We are also told by police prosecutors that four of the victims of the accident are responding to treatment, so they have been discharged. The other one is currently recuperating.”
