McBrown Demands Pay For Red Carpet Appearances, Questions TGMA Invitation Approach

0

Nana Ama McBrown has challenged how red carpet invitations are handled at the Telecel Ghana Music Awards, arguing that appearance at such events should not be treated as an automatic free obligation for celebrities.

Speaking on Onua Show Time, the actress pointed out that attending major entertainment events comes with high personal costs, particularly for guests who are neither nominees nor performers and therefore receive no direct return from the event itself.

She explained that many invited personalities are left to shoulder the full expense of styling, clothing, and preparation simply to make an appearance, a situation she believes is unfair.

“TGMA can’t invite me to a red carpet while I don’t have a song. They’re aware it’s expensive to show up,” the actress stated.

McBrown also looked back at earlier editions of the awards, recalling that organisers once helped ease the burden by providing fabric to invited guests, which allowed them to create bespoke outfits for the occasion.

According to her, that initiative not only reduced costs but also elevated the fashion stakes on the red carpet, making it a more engaging spectacle.

“I remember some time ago, they used to add cloth to their invitation. I even sewed the cloth and was crowned best dressed on the red carpet. There was a cash prize on it, so I won the dollars,” she recounted.

She added that such incentives naturally encouraged greater effort and creativity, turning the red carpet into a more competitive style showcase rather than a routine appearance.

“That made the red carpet very competitive and nice because you wouldn’t just go there; you had to show up all glamorous,” she shared.

McBrown clarified that her comments were directed at non-nominated guests and personalities who attend primarily for support and entertainment value rather than official participation in the awards.

From that perspective, she argued, attendance is optional, and organisers should consider offering motivation or incentives if they want consistent turnout from such guests.

“I’m talking from those who don’t have songs and those who won’t get any nominations’ point of view. We just show up for the entertainment and all the same, we can decide to entertain ourselves in our homes, but we still go there,” she noted.

She concluded firmly that in her own case, appearance would require compensation.

“I was invited, but I didn’t reply to the message. They have to pay me to show up.”

Adjoa Tee Responds To Viral “2-Minute Man” Rumours About Paradise

0

Ghanaian influencer and socialite Adjoa Tee has reacted to viral claims suggesting she once mocked her ex-boyfriend, Big Paradise, by calling him a “2-minute man.”

Addressing the controversy during an interview with ZionFelix, Adjoa Tee insisted she has never made such remarks publicly about her former partner.

She explained that the allegations appear to have started during a trip to South Africa, where a group of women allegedly made the comments during a TikTok live session. Adjoa Tee maintained that the statement did not come from her and stressed that she has never spoken about Big Paradise in that manner.

The socialite said she would never humiliate a man she once had a relationship with, regardless of how things ended between them. According to her, publicly discussing or mocking a former partner over private matters crosses a line she would not be willing to cross.

Adjoa Tee also pointed out that if the claims being circulated were even true, it would contradict the fact that she remained in the relationship and even reunited with him after they had broken up once before. She suggested that staying with someone willingly would indicate satisfaction within the relationship rather than dissatisfaction.

Adjoa Tee went on to criticise women who take intimate details about former partners to social media, describing the behaviour as degrading and disrespectful. In her view, publicly shaming an ex over personal issues diminishes both parties and should not be encouraged.

Video of Abu Trica’s Swedru Mansion Looking Deserted With No Luxury Cars Sparks Reactions Online

A viral video showing the reportedly deserted mansion of Ghanaian social media personality and businessman Abu Trica has stirred reactions online following his recent release on bail.

The businessman, whose real name is Frederick Kumi, was arrested in a joint operation involving the United States Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and Ghanaian security agencies on December 11, 2025.

According to the United States Department of Justice, Abu Trica was allegedly linked to a criminal syndicate accused of defrauding elderly victims in the United States through romance fraud schemes.

Following his arrest, he appeared before the Gbese District Court and later the Accra High Court, where he was remanded several times before finally being granted bail on May 15, 2026.

In a video shared on Instagram by With Alvin, Abu Trica’s luxurious mansion in Swedru appeared unusually quiet and largely abandoned.

The footage, which quickly spread across social media, showed the once-busy compound with no visible activity and none of the luxury vehicles the businessman was previously known for.

Before his incarceration, Abu Trica frequently flaunted his extravagant lifestyle online, often hosting lavish parties and gatherings at the mansion.

The property was regularly filled with friends, expensive vehicles, and social media influencers during his chilling sessions.

Among the luxury cars reportedly once parked at the residence were a Mercedes-AMG G 63, a BMW i8 Roadster, a Lamborghini Urus, and a Tesla Cybertruck.

The Tesla Cybertruck previously made headlines after Abu Trica’s baby mama, Queenie Abena Oforiwaa, allegedly crashed the vehicle while driving in town.

The latest video has triggered mixed reactions online, with many users commenting on the dramatic contrast between the mansion’s current state and the lively atmosphere it was once known for.

Some social media users expressed sympathy for the businessman, while others pointed to the situation as a lesson about wealth, fame, and legal troubles.

Abu Trica Reacts After GH¢30 Million Bail in Alleged $8 Million Romance Scam Case

Ghanaian businessman Abu Trica has broken his silence following reports that he was granted GH¢30 million bail over his alleged involvement in an $8 million romance scam investigation.

The businessman reacted publicly on Snapchat on May 18, 2026, after his lawyer, Oliver Barker-Vormawor, shared claims regarding the circumstances surrounding his arrest.

In a social media post, Barker-Vormawor alleged that Abu Trica had been “set up” by an FBI informant connected to a $50,000 transaction.

According to the lawyer, the informant allegedly approached Abu Trica seeking assistance to secure a bank account for the transfer of funds.

Barker-Vormawor further claimed that although Abu Trica was initially arrested over the alleged $50,000 deal, investigators later demanded information about individuals connected to the bank accounts used for certain transactions.

The lawyer alleged that U.S. authorities threatened to associate Abu Trica with an alleged $8 million romance scam operation if he failed to cooperate with investigators.

“He was asked to disclose the owner of the account,” portions of the statement shared online alleged.

Following the viral posts, Abu Trica reportedly reposted sections of his lawyer’s comments on Snapchat, insisting that the claims being made by Barker-Vormawor were accurate.

Among the points highlighted online was the allegation that investigators reviewed the history of transactions linked to the accounts over several years and concluded that the total amount exceeded $8 million.

Ohemaa Woyeje Exclusively Reveals Why She Prefers Giving Birth In Europe Instead Of Ghana

Ghanaian media personality Ohemaa Woyeje has opened up about why she prefers giving birth in Europe rather than in Ghana, citing differences in maternity care, postnatal support, and child welfare systems.

Speaking in an interview with MzGee, Ohemaa Woyeje explained that her childbirth experiences abroad were significantly different from what she had observed in Ghanaian healthcare facilities.

According to her, the level of care and support given to mothers in Europe made the experience more comfortable and reassuring.

“Over and over, I would choose Europe,” she stated during the interview.

Ohemaa Woyeje noted that one of the major differences she observed involved how childbirth decisions are handled in hospitals.

“In Ghana, they typically advise that we go for CS when there is no underlying condition,” she said, referring to Caesarean Section deliveries.

She contrasted that experience with Europe, where she claimed medical professionals encouraged natural childbirth unless surgery became medically necessary.

The broadcaster also praised the postnatal care systems in Europe, describing them as more organised and supportive for mothers and newborns.

“They provide almost everything, the care, the respect, you can’t describe it all,” she said.

According to her, her husband was allowed to stay actively involved throughout the delivery and recovery process, something she appreciated deeply.

Ohemaa Woyeje further highlighted the financial and social support systems available to families abroad.

“The system takes care of them and gives them money,” she added.

She explained that her children have had the opportunity to live both in Ghana and in Europe, and that exposure to the two environments greatly shaped her perspective on childbirth and parenting support systems.

KiDi Reveals Why Sarkodie’s Rapperholic Invite Left Him Shocked

0

Ghanaian singer KiDi has admitted he once feared rapper Sarkodie may have quietly held a grudge against him after old tweets in which he criticised the rapper resurfaced online years later.

The revelation came during an interview with ZionFelix, where KiDi reflected on the moment Sarkodie unexpectedly reached out to invite him to perform at the London edition of Rapperholic.

KiDi explained that the invitation completely caught him off guard because he had long assumed Sarkodie viewed him differently after the old posts resurfaced. In his mind, even if the rapper never openly confronted him, there was always the possibility that he still carried some disappointment or negative perception about him.

He recalled being shocked when Sarkodie personally called to ask him to be part of the concert in the UK, especially because he never imagined he would be considered for such an opportunity after their history online.

According to him, the gesture forced him to rethink his assumptions about Sarkodie. He said he kept wondering why Sarkodie chose him when the rapper had strong relationships with many other artistes in the industry and could easily have invited someone else instead.

That moment revealed Sarkodie’s maturity and willingness to overlook mistakes from the past. KiDi said it became clear to him that Sarkodie understood he was younger and immature when those tweets were made and had decided not to take the criticism personally.

KiDi also shared another experience from the trip that deepened his admiration for the rapper. While in London, Sarkodie reportedly invited him to sit in during an interview session with Apple Music, something he saw as another sign of genuine support and acceptance.

Despite Sarkodie’s warm treatment, KiDi admitted he still feels embarrassed whenever he thinks about the tweets. He said the incident taught him a major lesson about social media and the long-term consequences of online comments.

The singer indicated that experiences like his should serve as advice to young people using social media, stressing that things posted online can easily resurface years later and affect relationships or reputations.

He also commended Sarkodie for choosing to move beyond the controversy and embracing him like a younger brother despite everything that had happened.

Sumsum Ahuofe Opens Up On His Crush On Hajia4Reall And Why He Never Made A Move

0

Ghanaian actor and comedian Sumsum Ahuofe has revealed that his admiration for singer and socialite Hajia4Reall never went beyond a quiet crush because he felt she was completely out of his league.

During a discussion with Nana Romeo on UTV’s ‘Atuu’ program, Sumsum shared how nervous he became the only time he met her in person, admitting he could not even bring himself to start a conversation.

“My crush has always been Hajia4Reall, but I know it’s impossible to have her. I’ve met her once, but I was shy so I didn’t say anything to her,” he said.

According to the comedian, the lavish lifestyle often linked to Hajia4Reall convinced him that the two lived in very different realities, making any romantic hopes unrealistic in his eyes.

“There are some things that are impossible to have so I don’t bother. She’s getting Range Rover and G-Wagon and I have none,” he stated.

Despite that belief, Sumsum insisted wealth is not always the deciding factor in relationships. He explained that some financially successful women are more interested in a man’s humour and personality than social status or possessions.

“Sometimes, you can meet a rich lady who would just like you for just being funny,” he shared.

The actor also opened up about a previous relationship with a wealthy woman living in East Legon. He claimed she was financially generous and willing to buy him expensive gifts, including a Range Rover, but the relationship eventually became emotionally draining.

“I once got a woman who stays in East Legon and could buy Range Rover for me, but she’s controlling. I can’t be stuck with her because of her money so I left,” he disclosed.

Sumsum said leaving the relationship was ultimately a decision to protect his peace of mind instead of remaining in it for financial comfort.

“I would have never been happy if I had been with her. She would always pick fights with me when she called me and I didn’t answer,” the actor disclosed.

Sparqlyn Reminisces As He Congratulates Shatta Wale For Winning Two Awards At 43rd IRAWMA

0

Ghanaian musician and former Dunsin member Ahmmed Kanneh Larweh, popularly known as Sparqlyn, has congratulated music star Shatta Wale following his impressive double victory at the International Reggae and World Music Awards.

Shatta Wale recently made headlines after winning two major awards at the prestigious event held in Florida, USA, securing Best African Dancehall Entertainer and Concert of the Year for ShattaFest.

Reacting to the achievement, Sparqlyn could not hide his excitement after sighting news of the awards on Monday, May 18, 2025.

According to him, the one thing that caught his attention was the plaque presented to Shatta Wale. He noted that the design looked strikingly similar to the one Dunsin received when they won at the MUSA Awards over a decade ago.

The resemblance, especially the upper part of the plaque, instantly brought back memories of his former group’s historic moment on the African stage 13 years ago when the group represented Ghana proudly in South Africa.

It will be recalled that back in 2013, Dunsin achieved international recognition after winning Most Exciting Group in Africa and Most African Video at the MUSA Awards held in Pretoria, South Africa. The awards came on the back of their global hit project “Ɔyɛadeɛyie,” a song that helped elevate the group’s profile beyond Ghana.

At the time, Sparqlyn, then known by many as Kele within the group, was the one who represented Dunsin at the event to pick up the award.
