Popular Kumawood actor Oboy Salinko has publicly disclosed the political party’s whose ticket he intends to contest on as he prepares for another shot at becoming a Member of Parliament.

The comic actor, born Abraham Kofi Davis, revealed during an appearance on Fakye TV’s Fakye Showbiz on May 23, 2026, that he is strongly considering contesting on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) as he eyes either the Old Tafo or Atwima Kwanwoma parliamentary seat.

According to Salinko, he now feels ready for active politics and public service after attaining financial stability, adding that his focus is now on bringing development to communities that continue to lack basic amenities despite having elected leaders.

The actor also criticized some politicians, accusing them of mismanaging public funds while ordinary people continue to struggle.

It will be recalled that the actor’s attempt as an independent candidate earned him about 1,800 votes but he believes that this time around, his popularity under one of Ghana’s major political parties, the NPP will give him a better chance.

In recent times, the actor has been vocal about how God has blessed him financially, often speaking publicly about his success and improved financial standing. Salinko, who is also now known by many as “Despite Junior” due to his lifestyle and financial achievements, believes his current position in life puts him in a better place to help people and serve effectively.

Pascaline Edwards Rejects Organised Religion, Says It Limits Spiritual Freedom

Ghanaian actress Pascaline Edwards has a different view when it comes to organised religion.

Speaking in an interview with ZionFelix, she questioned the way religion is practised, suggesting that it often shifts from spiritual guidance into a means of imposing personal beliefs on others rather than fostering a direct relationship with God.

She explained that she does not believe in organised religion, arguing that it can function like a system where individuals gather followers, promote their own ideas, and label it as religious truth.

Pascaline was, however, quick to emphasise that her position should not be mistaken for disbelief in God. She stressed that her issue is with religious systems, not spirituality itself.

She referenced Jesus in her explanation, saying she believes he did not set out to establish a religion but instead sought to guide people toward a direct connection with God, which is the path she says she follows.

The actress added that her views were influenced by her reading of several religious and spiritual texts. According to her, these teachings appear to point toward a shared origin or divine source.

She questioned why people should commit to a specific religion when, in her view, most scriptures ultimately direct believers toward the same spiritual foundation. She also expressed concern that strict religious rules can distance individuals from their own sense of divine connection.

Pascaline further argued that rigid religious structures can make people feel dependent on spiritual leaders for everyday decisions, instead of developing personal conviction in their faith.

She criticised what she sees as growing reliance on pastors and religious figures for guidance, questioning why individuals should allow another human being to determine how they worship or relate to God.

The emotional post made by filmmaker Pascal Amanfo following the death of actress Beverly Afaglo has struck a chord with many in the entertainment industry, as conversations around the hidden struggles of public figures continue to grow.

Beverly Afaglo was reported dead on Sunday, May 24, 2026, after her husband, musician Eugene Baah, popularly known as Choirmaster or Praye Honeho, confirmed the heartbreaking news on social media.

In the wake of the tragedy, Pascal Amanfo took to Instagram with a deeply reflective message about the emotional weight many entertainers carry behind the spotlight.

“The world sees celebrities but they don’t know all is not as it seems! They don’t know your struggles, your pain, your battles!” he wrote.

The director’s post painted a picture of the pressures faced by entertainers who are often expected to maintain glamorous public images while quietly battling personal and financial difficulties.

According to him, fame can sometimes create unrealistic expectations that leave public figures feeling trapped, judged and emotionally exhausted.

“They don’t know the rent gets late, jobs sometimes are not forthcoming, you get broke, lonely, sick, sad, depressed!” he stated.

Pascal also spoke about the harsh criticism celebrities face when their careers slow down or when they fail to meet public expectations.

“You are forced to live to their expectations and when you don’t, they mock you for being below the standard!” part of the post read.

He further reflected on how entertainers are often celebrated more after death than while alive, noting that social media attention and public tributes sometimes arrive too late.

“Dear Entertainer all you will become when you are no more are headlines and traffic on blogs!” he wrote, adding that people who never supported public figures in life are often quick to mourn them online after their passing.

The filmmaker ended his message by urging entertainers to value genuine friendships, family and self-worth beyond fame and public validation.

“And whilst you live for the world, please remember to truly live for you and your maker!” he concluded.

Sarkodie Finally Reveals Why He Does Not Like To Perform At Certain Times

Over the years, Ghanaian event organizers have the tendency of bringing the headline acts at the very tail end of the show.

While this might be seen as something that keeps patrons at the event till the end, award-winning Ghanaian musician Sarkodie has a contrary view and he has made a passionate appeal to event organizers across the country.

He has urged them to schedule his performances earlier instead of keeping him waiting until the early hours of the morning.

Thee Sarkcess Music boss shared the message in a social media post where he opened up about the challenges of performing very late at night, especially at events held outside Accra.

According to Sarkodie, while he understands that many patrons outside the capital enjoy partying until dawn, his energy levels as a performer naturally peak much earlier.

“To my people in most towns outside Accra, I get that you guys love to party till morning. But as a performer, my energy is at its highest level until about 1 a.m. max,” he wrote.

The rapper further explained that after that period, his body begins to slow down naturally, making it difficult to deliver the kind of performance fans expect from him.

He therefore pleaded with event organizers to have him appear on stage earlier so audiences can experience him at his best.

Sarkodie added that performing around 4 a.m. is exhausting and not ideal for the human body, stressing that such schedules take a toll on performers.
